My man, FreePlay… I’ve been a Team Mack skeptic since the very beginning of their video-making shenanigans, and with good reason; for one, I’ve yet to see the new 6.00 theme colours in any of their videos. Factor that aside; FreePlay drops the devastation bomb on their nonsense by showcasing the finer differences between Sony’s official 6.00 system update and their RCO-crafted one.

I don’t think they did it on purpose they said they were in high school still and I don’t think they know how programming works completely. They got source to custom firmware modded some of the code and yea it will read 6.00 even if it’s running 3.xx CFW copy 6.0 modules over and they might look like some of them are working but they couldn’t get games to boot I wonder why lol…..

Probably not, but it’s probably better that there isn’t just so Sony and the game developer’s feel it’s safer ( and more profitable ) to make games on the PSP. Why do you think there is such a lack in support in the system with games?
I say they don’t release a custom firmware until at least after Christmas, so they all feel safe, and then we hit them after some more good games come out. It’s a long time, but at least we’ll get some great stuff.
Try supporting the PSP a little bit here and there maybe? :P
That’s what happened last year in the xbox scene they waited til the jasper board came out before releasing the cfw for lite-on drives. A more reliable chipset/design with backed up game playing.

It was a good show while it lasted guys, so I think we should all stop the “pitty party” that there isn’t a 6.00 CFW and just move on. Maybe down there road they will go out with something, but I think that there is better thing that can be done with our time than arguing and yelling at DAX or even Team GEN; for starters, all the pissy complainers could learn to code themselves with all that free time from not being able to play a new non-compatible CFW game. :D
Try using logic a little maybe? Custom firmware doesn’t harm the PSP, the pirating of games does. You can have custom firmware, and still support the PSP by buying the games… {/troll}
They should just let us run homebrew and block ISOs some how but people could just program around that I guess being allowed to run their own code.
The thing is, for me, I like to own hard copies of games. This though does not mean I like hearing a tornado like sound coming from my PSP’s UMD drive. So what I do is rip the UMD to an ISO, and put that ISO on my mem stick. ISO’s do not = pirates only.
i like to keep copies of games unopened.
I like to keep my games at the store, unopened.

Ok my new request, somebody put a video up on youtube of a loud UMD drive that works(actually loads games).
Reason being is that my UMD drive is no louder than a whisper and the only time I could ever consciously hear it was when I put it up to my ear to see how loud it was.

Yea I think it’s like you said w/ your last statement… I’ve always bought any games I thought were worthwhile which is probably harder for most people when they have their PSP-”hacked” w/ CFW and such and are either used to getting games for free and maybe/not have the money to buy the games that they like.
At the end of the day, even that’s a ::jerk off motion:: because if you have the time to play those games you like then you have the time to go out and hustle some loot to actually buy it.

Yes, but with games like Motorstorm and probably Gran Turismo and LBP, we can’t play them even if we buy them due to requiring FW 5.5whatever and probably 6.0 later on.

They have uploaded a new video where the first thing is fixed, but the O still says back, and they have changed to a original theme.

Colors would be a real convincing piece of evidence. It would take about a 20 second video showing the mess in the system info section then going to the color section in the theme menu.

Well, It’s fake. No high School boy can learn how to code or how a hardware works. I already graduated from C++, Programing, and System Repairs and i still don’t understand 100% How the PSP kernel works. I made some updates for myself on older psp cfw but as far as i know the 6.00 it’s different in some files. So why dont we wait and see if Sony gets a new OFW. I know they will release a new one for the PSPgo…
Whoa– Hold your horses there. First off, high school students _can_ learn C/C++. It’s easy to self teach yourself. Grab a copy of K&R and teach yourself from it. Second, using what little documentation you have for the PSP you could figure things out. DAX would’ve, when he started, not known much about the PSP hardware or how it worked. This was done by experience.
Now I’m not saying that they are or aren’t releasing a CFW–but it looks like it’ll be a fake. Sorry guys if it’s real.
I forgot to mention, as the guy did below, I am teaching myself C (Yes, regular ANSI C), from K&R (Second edition I think). And I only graduated 3 months ago. It’s not that difficult.

All I did was download Microsoft Visual C++ for free, then got the first 5 chapters of the book, will download more when needed.
It isn’t that hard of a language to learn, you just need patience.

As long as you’re not using Drag’n'Drop I guess it’s okay. But you should try using a text editor with syntax highlighting and GCC. (Try Mint or Ubuntu).

OK … I thought I’d comment here and even things up a bit. In high school I programmed in C++ and C# daily In fact, senior year I had half days that consisted of a math class and all the rest independent studies. Basically I’d program, then work on the schools website until 10:30, then go home and program.
I’ve done a magnitude of projects, right now I’m finishing up learning GAS Assembly on linux, and its a blast! I’m a freshmen in college forming a Linux Club here, also attending IS (Information security) Club, AND still programming on huge projects. Also I’m a Fedora ambassador while getting into OS Development. I’m currently working on my own x86 kernel from scratch …. just for the heck of it.

Just think about it, they’re just some poser high school kids. Even if they did really make it, and for that reason you said didn’t release it, somebody else is eventually going to make a 6.00 CFW, and probably a more stable one.
Maybe they are just fidgeting with 6.00 modules, people do get lucky, maybe fidgeting with the .RCO files and trying out some 6.00 modules maybe will lead somewhere, seems that their current work is a spoofed up UBER 5.50GEN (that I would like to have mine look like that), however, if they have the skills to know which .rco does what, they may be able to find the right ones wither by sheer luck or with some studying.

And as said before, of course another CFW will arrive. Heres the thing with programmers and coders, they can’t wait to tinker with things. No matter how hard they try to avoid it. Sooner or later there inner coder takes over and they fully take apart everything and try to improve what they just disassembled.

GEN said that no current 6.00 GEN was planned, Alek (not DaX) said that there was no plans for 6.00M33, guess just wait it out, go play PS3/360/Wii until a fix has been addresed properly or dig up old PSP games, find your group of friends and enjoy some local Soul Calibur or whatever game you play.
You guys know what I think might happen? This:
1. They do not release a CFW blaming people that said they were fake. In reality though, they did not make a CFW, just used it as an excuse.
2. They release an edited version of 5.50 CFW that says it is 6.00. It might have the system update looking like it does in their video, but it will not have more colors or 5.55+ game support.
3. They might just fade away like most fake CFW creators.
4. They might also use the excuse in first reason and then come out with videos of having fake 6.00 CFW and rubbing it in our faces.
The ultimate truth will hinge on them releasing it. If they don’t there is an 85% chance that it was fake, 10% that it did not work and they chose not to release it, and 5% chance that they did not want to release a working CFW.
Yes, but I think if they were just looking to fake, they would have released it right after they announced it and watched you brick your PSP and then laugh their asses off at your brand new paperweight.
That being said, Option 1 seems more likely as if they were looking for O2 they would have released it already.
This is getting rough. The boot.bin files on the new UMD’s are “dummy files” So the eboot is encrypted. Some prx in the new firmware Decrypts this eboot and if it cant, the program bails. Next problem is the iso drivers. Tried CFW 6.00Sa-1 (fake) and another utube rar flash0 file only ended up in brick. Come on DAX,throw us a bomb.
Isn`t the keys to these 5.55/6.00 eboots in a file called mesg_led.prx?

Well if they hacked the text files, why they said that none of the games worked on cfw. So either they have a custom firmaware less than 3.71, and that is quite frankly impossible, or they have a 1.50 firmware but still they cant play games that need custom firmware 3.41. Only possible solution is that they have original firmware but it doesnt look like that, and I personally think that it might be true. OK, respect to found of freeplay, but what will happen when they actually release their *FAKE* cfw. If it doesn’t show within next month, I am on your side people. -Now welcome to my contry. The minimum wage is 400 euros (portugual) a PSP thx to the release of the PSP Go is down to 150 euros but before is was 250. And games costs from 40 to 60 euros.

seriously. So what do we do to not spend money in a lame game. We test it with a ISO backup. And the PSP has a serious problem of lame games. I Buy all the games that a test and liked being the Wipeout games my gold pearls. but i all so have the 2 GTAs de 2 Burnouts, God of War , and FF Crises Core.
If the mac team is a bunch crips or not a i dont know but i only believe in 6.00 CFW when i see it.

If a new CFW doesn’t come out anytime soon or at all, that sucks. Truly not the end of the world in my opinion, we’ll live without it…some may not, there might be a mass suicide on this, who knows.
But I digress, so what, update your PSP, go buy the game, deal with the annoying tornado noise in the back, and play the game that you so desperately want to play but don’t feel like putting $30 + tax on it.
I have two PSPs 1 with 5.00m336 and 1 with 6.00cfw, best of both worlds, so what the m336 can’t play the newer games that come out, atleast it can still play all the other older games prior to 5.55.
Last but not least. If TeamMack is infact fake, oh well, and if they aren’t fake, woo hoo new 6.00CFW for us. Until 1 or the other is proven, stop Q.Qing over it, mmkaythanks
