Update: Hrm… Even Lempel doesn’t mention any of the PSP GO features on his latest PlayStation Blog post. Why’s that?
Update: All right; first impressions… Nothing overly exciting… Plenty of new theme colours… Big whoop. 6.00!? C’mon… More like 5.56 or something. I’m more interested in the PSPgo and the Bluetooth Internet dealio. The change log posted below is spot-on with exception of the PSP GO specifics; I can’t confirm that until October. Anyway, let me reiterate:
PSP Firmware 6.00:
- PlayStation Store Games can now be grouped and displayed in folders based on their expire date under [GAME]
- Importing of playlists from the Media GO! applications is now supported under Music
- Under [Settings] > [Network Update] has been changed to [System Update]
- The number of Colors that can be selected under [Settings] > [Theme Settings] has been increased
- The PSP GO! system can now connect to the Internet via a Bluetooth modem such as a mobile phone
And furthermore…
- Revisions to strengthen security has been added. (Internet Browser)
Anyone spot anything that went unmentioned?

No, 6.00 CFW is a MUST. All of the new games coming out require 5.55 and soon will no doubt require 6.00. 5.50 GEN-B cannot run games that need 5.55 no matter what. PSN is not the only thing.

5.00 M33-6 runs 5.55 games just fine. There’s no issue until games start requiring 6.00, which wont be for a good few weeks at the very earliest.
5.00 m33-6 doesn’t run 5.55 games. Don’t know what yer smokin but hand it around for all to get high like you.
You can use the version.txt trick to play some 5.55 games, notably FF:Dissidia. However, games that actually require some information you can only get from the update will not work, notably (and tragically) Disgaea 2.
but there is no multiplayer over the web with 5.00 m33 so if you like resistence m33 sucks right now
what?????…… i play dissidia eng on gen-b without even accessing the recovery menu. just like any other game i can even play soulcalibur with the boot.ini option

I got CFWenabler 3.60 for firmware 5.03 on a psp 2004 8C…
I can play dissidia alright… but i downloaded SoulCalibur, MotorStorm and Dirt2, and none of them worked… is it cause of this stupid new firmware? if it is…6.00 sucks big time!
I got the game NFS Shift and at first it was not working, what I did was I was playing SC4 before and in order to play that game i had to enable boot.ini in the advaced settings I am using 5.50 Gen-B….but in this game you have to disable that option and that’s it, I am running that game just fine
maybe MM3 or gen out of?

Well if the only big thing that is updated are color backgrouds I highly doubt that a new M33 will be released. Best wishes, and i’m hopping just like all of you a new CFW will be anounced by either of the big players or someone new.

System Settings psp icon has changed to one styled more like the Go.

We reeeeeeeeally need a new CFW!!! Good games are out and more to come. Currently unplayable 5.55 games: Armored core 3 portable, Tales Of Vs., Evangelion Battle Orchestra, Disgaea 2, Soul Caliber BD (Viciously hacked after release successfully) And more to come. I guess it takes a newer unhackable psp to make them try harder with the games.

For those who UPDATED and want to go back with pandora and the firmware FREZES on M33 or GEN with Pandora… Just use pandora and install 5.00 OFW then after that Install 5.00M33-6. (OR 5.50 GEN)

DaX hasn’t released any updates since 5.00m33 because there hasn’t been any major firmware updates.
He’ll probably come out with 6.00m33 in a week or so.

Dude, Dark Alex has no plans for 6.00 M33 this update first off didn’t deserve a X.00 number and it definitely doesn’t deserve to be hacked there was not many changes to the OFW.
I reckon that Sony is doing this on purpose releasing small updates so people like Dark Alex or the Gen team don’t bother updating there CFW’s it makes perfect sense to me, that’s what i would do, only some extra colours & more security, not worth releasing a new CFW for, see Sony will win in the end sadly hence why they are using this type of updated firmwares.
Same thing is now happening with the DSi consoles, eventually Nintendo will win that battle as well with Flash Cards R4/M3 Etc
if the new colors arnt for the PSP1000 model thats really shit of you sony. i want a black theme without having to risk bricking it.
If you do right then there should be no reason to brick your PSP.
there were reports of themes bricking the psp in the past so im not going to bother risking it. also dont what to have to keep changing themes every time i update the cfw so ive stuck to a black background.
There’s really not much you can do with 32mb NAND in a fatty. Tested 6.00JAP. Sorry no extra color themes. A download timer display was added. The video looks brighter on the PS1001. WiFi connect speed also improved on the old brick. No PSAR dump yet,but GEN looks like they are working on it. Hang in there for another week.

psp rules! my sons and i all have one. they have the phat, and i have the slim. both models rock! the psp is the ultimate portable digital entertainment device. movies, games, music, photos. my youngest son even has the go-cam which takes movies and pictures. currently waiting a clear case mod from china for my youngest son. i know he’s going to love it. the quality time i spend with my kids playing multiplayer, you cant put a price on that. Thank you Sony for such an amazing device, and thank you psp scene for the awesome cfw and homebrew!

well, nfs shift works on 5.50 gen-b2, but that was a leaked version i got like on the 14th. as for a new cfw, i’ve given up on DAX. sure he has done a lot, but like even 5.55 OFW didnt rattle him, so no hope there. im finding the GEN CFW to be pretty good, and they made a 5.50 when DAX didn’t. they’ve already decrypted 6.00 so give it some time. hopefully by the time GT and GTA Chinatown rolls around there will be 6.00 CFW. just a side note, has anyone seen the 6.00 MAC-B CFW. do you think its legit? there is a lot of flaws in the video, and their latest vid explaining that stuff doesnt even explain, it just takes the question, and gives us a reworded question in the answer. so do u think its real?

How do you get pandora to work on 6.00. It wont work on my mine. Shouldnt have upgraded.
just press the key you chosed whem making the pandora before put the battery ( must have the memory stick inside the psp first ) and it will work. I have already installed OFW 6.00 and put my pandora and worked, my key is up at the left directional buttons, now im 5.50 gen b-2 again and i can use pandora to go 5.00 m33-4. good luck
