iR Shell Stability/ISO Patch for CFW 5.50 GEN/MHU Released

Not just one, two… The first comes from joshd666, while the other comes from bosshunter, who you may recognize from the earlier CFWEnabler iR Shell patch. So try ‘em both and you decide what’s best.
joshd666’s patch:
- Copy the IRSHELL directory to the root of your memory stick;
- Copy the irshell2×3x directory to PSP/GAME; That’s it, that’s all.
bosshunter’s patch:
- Make sure you have:
- iR Shell 5.0 installed;
- The plugins loaded by game.txt are disabled;
- Replaced the IRSHELL folder with the one provided.
- Run iR Shell.
- Open Directory View and go to ms0:/IRSHELL/PATCH/5.50/.
- Run btcnfpatch.prx.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Wait a few seconds. You should see a similar screen to the screenshot above upon success.
- Re-enable your game.txt plugins.
- Enjoy iR Shell.
I tried both on 5.50 GEN-A, and personally I’m sticking with bosshunter’s method. For some reason or other joshd666 is using iR Shell 3.9.

I have gen-B full , I put ctf file into THEME folder but nothing shows under theme on psp menu I searched the source of this them they say gen-B doesnt support all themes but gen-A does
I have my brother’s psp with firmware 5.0M33-6 , I put ctf file into THEME folder same thingnothing shows ,also tried to put it into folder but no luck
what am doing something wrong with folder ? Should I put ctf file in different place other than THEME folder ?

dude, you’re WAY off. This is a PATCH for an application running on a psp 2000 with CFW 5.50 Gen A/B ONLY.
It works fine on 5.50 gen-B but When I try to use the nethost,psp shuts off.
also, The multi Tasking doesn’t Work
Wasn’t IR Shell dead ? I thought the developer abandoned the project a long time ago. Also, it’s not that great… unless you own a PSP 1000 with an infrared port.
You could suppliment iR Shell with NEWER versions of Adhoc File Transfer, PMPlayer Advance, Bookr, etc. each including their own added features and bugfixes.
Yes, Ah Man said that his last update was 2.2 a long time ago but he picked it back up and went all the way up to 5.0. Actually iR Shell is one of the best homebrew apps by far for all PSP’s, not just 1000’s. I believe iR Shell is the only app that allows you to unRAR and unZip, which is the biggest convenience (for me anyways). Plus the USBhost which allows 1000 users to show their PSP on the PC and then Nethost which allows PSP users to play games from their PC to PSP wirelessly.

I use Irshell before when im be on 5.00 m33 but now when i updated to gen i find this is an usless appl . Only good thing about it is ability to play game from HDD and can wach PMF videos from the ISO when you mount it vith DEAMON TOOLS or other virtual CD/DVD. IR control not work with my TV DVD at all( IS SONY) wifi NETHOST not work fine either is connect an when i choise play ISO just freez (low bitrate ower the wifi)
Then if I must give the number from this from 0 to 10 i give 8 . werry cool appl but not all funktions work
Does this make gen-b possible to play my emu’s? Thats the big reason I think about going back to m33 I miss my tecmo superbowl!

i got snes to work on psp running 5.50 genb just look for the latest release of snes9x

can anyone create a homebrew just like CFWE 3.60 it will only install CFW 5.5 in the memory for psp 1000 & 2000 running CFW 5.00 M33-6
UH… does it work on gen d2? cause i when i launch the patch, it just freezes and stays in a black screen.
yeah, i’m really considering going back to m33, so many patches and compatibility issues with this.

launching isos from irshell from ms0: is pointless when you can do it from xmb. The whole point of iso support for irshell is to launch them from usb or nethost, which this patch totally bugs up.

Nethosts and Usbhost DOES work, mind you. And I’m running 5.50 Gen-B full with a PSP 2000.
And I can proudly say I can play music while reading a book at the same time, even play my own music while playing a game, and read a walkthrough while playing.
I suppose additional plugins will let you do this without irshell, but irshell IS the whole package.
