PSPHUGO v1.3.1: Turbo Grafx 16 / PC Engine Emulator Updated

greg | August 9, 2009

Look who’s back, it’s the undisputed champ in the classic console emulation-porting league; you know him, put your hands together for ZX-81. Download PSPHUGO v1.3.1 and you’ll be imitating the Turbo Grafx 16 or PC Engine all proper and stable like. And if you managed to pull one of these off, you’ll no doubt appreciate this version.

Turbo Grafx 16

PSPHUGO v1.3.1 changes:

  • This version of PSP-Hugo supports IRDA-Joystick box designed by my good friend Buzz (see http://buzz.computer.free.fr). Schematic and PIC source code is provided in contrib folder.
  • Add “IRDA joystick” device support for both DB9 Joystick and Atari Paddle
  • Add menu for IRDA joystick settings and keys mapping
  • Add option to choose between IRDA devices (keyboard or joystick)

Fuck you dude. The Turbo Grafx/PC Engine is/was awesome. You’re just jealous because you’re too stupid to make an emulator yourself. And at least this emulator works, unlike half of the other ones out there.

NES/Genesis/Atari, that’s all nice, but this is where the REAL games were. Ok, maybe it’s not THAT great, but there are some amazing and totally obscure games for these systems. The chance to emulate it, and on the PSP no less, is just awesome.

So no, this isn’t a “FUCKING USELESS EMULATORZ!!” it’s a piece of video game history, now made available to the PSP community. And yes, people care. So please, ZX-81, KEEP MAKING THIS SHIT! :)

@greg & slack: thanks :), even if this release is a bit pointless since i know only 3 persons on earth who got the “irda joy” stuff, and can take pleasure with their old db9 joystick :D

Thanks for the update :) Just ignore “Ugh”, he obviously doesn’t appreciate just how many people love retro games.
