PspStates Experiment Patch for PSP-3000 Released

greg | July 9, 2009

Now functioning on your PSP-3000 by way of 5.03 GEN-A or Custom Firmware Enabler: Dark_AleX’s PspStates. This patch brought to you by the skills of Total_Noob. Download both below; read both readmes.

PspStates allows you to save everything in its current state — absolutely everything — while in a game. Then return to that exact state sometime later. You set the checkpoints.

And as always, nice work Total_Noob.

Look at the readme:

Q: Why only PSP SLIM?
A: In the current implementation, I’m using slim extra memory. The file writing is post-poned
while file read is done before the real load state. This is because we lack of a good memory
stick driver that could be used in situations where the kernel is off. The only memory stick
driver we have, which is the used in DC, is extremelly slow, it has no sense to use it here. Until memory stick dma code is reversed, it is impossible the implementation on psp phat.

Is that mean DAX has graduated from firmwares and moved on to plugins?! I personally have no use for it but it’s really handy for people who needs to convert their saves.

This also works great on the TA-088v3 (with ChickHEN/CFW Enabler)Slims, Not the 3k’s.

Mhm, Anyone try this on a normal slim?

Yeah, If I’m not mistaken this is for the 3k’s only.

I got this working on a slim too, The 88v3’s so im guessing their mobos are similar to the 3ks.

People should try this on their other slims (without flashing umdcache.prx because they are different)

I didnt have to flash anything, just used R1+Select+Up to save a state in-game when pressing home.

Then to load the state press L1+select+Up to load your state (while in game)

This sure beats checkpoints in-game since you can pickup where you left off and don’t even have to worry about saving since you can end the game and reload it back up in the same spot xD
