MusicPRX Mod for CFWE 3.50 Released
greg | June 30, 2009
Allow PSP-Hacks to (re)introduce Music PRX into your lives. This particular version comes from junkfactory and adds one simple feature: a battery power monitor. And for anyone who doesn’t know — Music PRX enables the playback of your own tracks while browsing the XMB or in game.
Music PRX Mod Configuration Options:
- ALARM_PERCENTAGE = 20 (battery percentage to trigger the low battery alarm sound)
- ALARM_SOUND = ms0:/seplugins/lowbat.mp3 (can customize your alarm sound)
- STANDBY_PERCENTAGE = 10 (battery percentage to put the system in standby mode. Set to 10 to put the PSP in standby mode when the battery has 10% power left. Set to zero to disable system standby mode.)
Note: This has only been tested on a PSP-2000 TA-088v3 with Custom Firmware Enabler 3.50 through ChickHEN.

haha 1st
how do you install this with cfwe 3.5 0n 3k psp
HAHA 2nd
Get a life and stop 1st comments.
Does this work for 5.00 M33?
The latest version before this is for 4.01, and it’s not that great…
I don’t quiet understand how this is supposed to work…
well i tested this out and i am kind of confused is someone could help, in the installation instructions it doesnt say anything about the src folder.. what do i do with that and besides how do i enable this. when i go to the plugins option under CFWE 3.50 its all there and i turned it on (previously set to on) but how can i actually use this..what are the keys? hmm kinda confusing..
NEED HELP THANKS!
“Src” stands for source. As in “source code”. Don’t worry about it. It’s mostly for developers and curious people (usually for people who want to lean how it was made). Also, the readme pretty much says how to install it.
Just open the congig file with notebook and you can read it and change the keys as desired
Can you play music with Eboots (ps1 games)? The plugins I use now don’t have this feature so if this does, then I’m gettin’ it.
Need to know if this works on phat. others dont but itll be useful if this does.
Yes they all worked for my phat
as does this one
as for working with eboots no avail unless you set it up in the pops folder
but my theory is untested
please do let me know
Doesn’t work, I’ve put the bin content to my seplugins folder… and what to do with the src folder? help please?
Copy contents of bin folder (bin/*) to ms0:/seplugins/
To all those asking about the src folder, that’s just the source code for MusicPRX. That is meant to be used by developers to improve upon and/or study MusicPRX’s behaviour. If you have no clue what I mean, just look inside the folder since it’s all laid out there for you. (was going to rant about this but wanted to be nice today :) )
Just do what README above says.
Hope this helps.
read the music_conf in the bin file, I got it after reading that.
I have a couple of questions. Has it been tested on 5.00 M33-6 ? And doesn’t it use a certain percentage of CPU and RAM ? For a game like God of War or Syphon Filter Logan’s Shadow (which both use full 333 Mhz CPU power) won’t this plugin cause them to lag behind ? Like choppy framerate and such. I’ve also heard that PSX games use 333 Mhz.
I’m sure this conversation was fought on other sites (and forums) as well but what if a game was designed to run on 222 Mhz or 266 ? Wouldn’t it be a waste of battery power to up it at 300 or 333 just to play MP3s ? Maybe Sony didn’t add multitasking apabilities to the PSP for a reason.
64 MB RAM of which games use 56 (because I hear the operating system uses 8 MB). And if this plugin uses another 3-6 MB while playing… Depending on the game, it will probably affect loading times and general gameplay.
Let’s say – some tracks – have heen encoded at 320 kbps or VBR (which use more processing power). Or let’s say we have AAC files instead of MP3. AAC being more advanced, quality-wise, I suppose it also requires more processing power.
Again, maybe Sony didn’t add multitasking for a reason. I’m curios to learn more. Can anyone point me to some online discussions about music.prx ?
majority of tracks are encoded at 320 Kbps, or majority of the ones i listen to, cant speculate for all Playstation users or roughly all those who listen to music
but i am pretty sure most are.
ye tried it out.. you apparently need to configure the game clock speed to 333 MHZ for it run properly when in playing a game..or else it’ll crash. although works fine on XMB (maybe because i had it configured to 333MHZ:l) Although all in all good mod.
TRY IT OUT AND LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS.. (had to CHICKHEN DANCE ALL OVER AGAIN)…
PCE~
it runs fine at 222/111
for me
and i have a phat
soo im unsure what you guys are talking about unless your running chickhen
or cfwe 3.50
as for slow downs and crashs its only crashed on me when running with nite pr AND cw cheat
other than soo it runs god of war and other such games fine
havent tested pops yet
cause the other releases didnt work
aso i assumed it wouldnt work here either
ye dont know but iam running CFW through custom firmware enabler 3.50
when i first used to, and ran CFWE it crashed, however after adjusting the game clock speed to 333MHZ ran perfectly fine on BURNOUT LEGENDS
however just to ensure i haven’t left out any details as to speculation i have a PSP @))) (2000 :l) with the new motherboard
kinda obvious as to what psp i am using seeing as how i am running CFWE :P
Will this work on a PSP slim with 4.01 M33 firmware?
i’ve installed this one on my psp 300 and it conflicts with my battery prx and deletes the vsh,txt command completely,,
That’s probably because you replaced vsh.txt instead of just adding that one line…
lol o man i thought this prx died. its a really good idea but i never got it to work last time i tried using it. i was told that it freezes or something like that when i read up on it long time ago.
this is more for umd use tho if you’ve tried ir shell and playwd music while running a game on the stick u’ll find out that u get some serious lag
still check it out if ur gonna surf the net and wanna listen to some tunes and dont have an ipod yet this will come in handy
……….so this doesnt work on the 5.00m33-6?
It works on a 5.00 m33-6 if you’re on CFWE
CFWE?
it works on my psp 2000 chickhen 5.0 m33-6. :)
It Works fine on 5.0 m33-6
do i need to make a video
of me using it on my fat
playing god of war or dissidia?
what seems to be the problem on a non chickhen cfwe psp for you guys?
this one seems to be the best to come out so far
Yeah make a vid…………I Know I installed it right, Im not sure how to enable it though…..both on the vsh and in game :(
how can we get this to work without CFWE
