Triple Triad PSP v0.2 Released

greg | June 22, 2009

I was never a Final Fantasy fan, but I understand your tastes may differ; I recognize and respect that… And with that said, I had no idea what Triple Triad was until about 10 minutes ago… So what I suggest — just watch the video and if you’re sold, by all means, proceed to the download.

Triple Triad v0.2 [translated] changes:

  • Premium Deck disagreements
  • Management and deck use in match
  • Fixed exit when pressing HOME
  • Increased AI speed in game
  • Reduced downtime in any game
  • Adapt to new images of the game
  • Varied speeds entry cards in the lot
  • Entrance of the cards in a group game at a time
  • Changes to position the numbers on the card during the match
  • Fixed rule COMBO
  • Presentation of the game before loading

Download: Triple Triad PSP v0.2

That’s pretty cool… unfortunately, I hated that card game. Imo, one of the dumbest things in FF8.

But the trailer made it look nice, at least. ;)

And MMO is freaking awesome.

Lol, my god! I was wondering when this would happen. I never hated the game, but I was never a huge fan of it. Still, nice to see more good PSP homebrew.

Great idea. Was a really enjoyable distraction in FF8.

If this works at a great frame rate and there are people to play against, then I’ll definitely get this one.

But the video doesn’t really make much sense. It uses clips and the music from FF7 and Triple Triad didn’t come along until FF8.

if you look closely they have custom cards with other characters and monsters from other FFs so i’m guessing thats the reason

great homebrew, i love that mini game, i’m so getting this

Bloody cool intro, although that was the one game on FF8 that I played the least of :)
But judging from the video alot has been added to it. Gonna have to give it a go.

Amazing homebrew. One of my favorite pass times in FF8 (trying to find all the cards). Now if I could only read Italian… XD

there’s an english folder in each card set folder….but you cant get into the preferences?

i couldn’t at least…maybe modding the INF files manually?

Well, it appears to have support for several languages, but there are necessary files missing. Have to assume it hasn’t been implemented yet since there is still no word from psp-ita… Though it’s totally playable as is, if your familiar with the original.

I believe this is a different version; if you check the source link, it was just posted recently. the earlier version was a Stackless Python port, this is different I think, no?

Ok, the game is being re-written in C++ by Kline, which explains the lower version number and missing features. As for the trailer, it says right in the release thread at psp-ita that its from the “previous, outdated version”.

@jaromy:
Random choice is only for the quick match.
when we implements single/multi player, then you can choose the cards for match
