By now you should be familiar with CFWEnabler. This enables Custom Firmware features — user and kernel mode homebrew, ISO/UMD backup support, plugins, recovery access, etc… All on your PSP-3000 and/or TA-088v3 hand-held.
CFWEnabler 3.50 changes:

5.50 currently isn’t exploitable via ChickHEN, but I’m sure they’re working on it.
Anyway, lol I realized that my psp’s time needed to be updated when I took that screen because it’s a day behind
5.50 is completely chickHEN proof ‘cuz Sony removed .tff support which chickHEN exploits.

Just downloaded and installed on my psp3000. Great work!! Super easy install. Was using 503gen-a but I have to say I’m really impressed here. ^_^
well you can be more impressed.just follow as i say. no pandora, only psp 3000, custom firmware enabler and run it enable m33 after that go to con figuration and enable version.txt then change version txt to the lowest version. then install 5.00,5.01 it will install
Ok so I have a quick question. How do I enable popsloader on this? I tried searching some forums but i guess I’m missing something. I looked up a tutorial for popsloader but they talk about the seplugins and all that but I didn’t think this supported seplugins. Anyway, inside the CFWenabler folder there is a folder that says “pops” and inside that a file that says put pops files here. Is that talking about the pop.prx files? Anyways if someone can tell me specifically what I need to do to get popsloader to work that would be amazing. :) And thanks for any help you guys give.

In other PSPs you can just get a Pandora battery and install Dark_Alex’s CFW. I’m not sure about other options but that method is pretty easy. You only need to find someone who can make you such a battery (requires a hacked PSP), or buy a modded battery online, or be dangerous and hardmod one.
i have psp ofw 5.50 so will it work
if i have 3.30 can i update through the network to this or i have to download then install
@noobas- Yes, as long as you have official firmware 5.03 or lower.
@auron- No, it will only work if you have 5.03 official firmware with ChickHEN enabled.
@Da’ron- Don’t update through ‘Network Update’, as it will update your firmware past 5.03 and you will not be able to run ChickHEN. Instead download the 5.03 official firmware update here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1645

What would be the point? If you run ChickHEN R2 on a 1000 you can then simply use Hellcat’s Recovery Flasher to get full custom firmware anyway.

that’s because there are actually no plugins installed yet.
you install a plugin by adding it to the “seplugins” folder in the memorystick root.
when you check the plugins settings, the plugin should show up.

Hi, I have a PSP 3000, but whenever I try to run this I get the message “ERROR! Flasher can’t install custom firmware,” can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

First if you have previous cfe enabler instaled you have to unistal. if you don’t have instaled run Chicken r2 and run cfe 3.50. you have to have 5.03 ofw instaled on psp 3000 or 2000 ta-088v3 or ta-090v2

ok so i downloaded the 5.03 firmware from the website u gave up there but what shud i do after that? i mean i downloaded the CFWEnabler350 and tried to put it in my psp but all i get is “Corrupt Data” wat shud i do after i downloaded 5.03? btw im new at all this :p
you need first to load ChickHEN r2, because the enabler is a homebrew

Guys, so there’s basically two ways to get custom firmware on your PSP:
1. You use the CFW Enabler with chickHEN R2 so then you can download custom firmware of any version onto your PSP like you normally do on a PSP PHAT or PSP 2000…
2. You download ChickHEN R2 then download use the 5.03 GEN-A firmware thing so then you can play iso/csos correct?
By PSP I mean PSP 3000

Also, after you get ChickHEN R2 working on your PSP and you shut it off, do you need to reactivate chickHEN again?
Damn, they need to get working on making this for OFW 5.51
That’s gonna be a long time coming, they first have to find an exploit, and with every one they find, Sony gets better at closing them off for the next firmware.
bigups, question: Ever since 3.30 with the reg hacks CFWE dosen’t run right for my PSP. I get it installed but when it says to “start” the cfw it the screen turns black and hangs with green power light, then power off. I’ve tried uninstalling and using all the way back to 2.50 CFWE, but no luck…………anyhelp plz

Thanx for the updates… was able to install ChickHENa and CFWE 3.5 w/o any issue. But am facing only one problem being, few games (Burnout Dom/Legends) hangs @ certain levels , so have to restart the whole process everytime this happens. Is any1 else facing the same problem w/ other games as well?
I could’t run PSx games. I successfully installed POPS. When I try to load Quake2 the SONY logo appears and them I get to choose pops versions, but nothing happens and I have to take out the battery to bring things back to life.
What’s the problem?
P.S. POPS is shown in the plugins menu

Hey every1 i have PSP 3004 firmwire 4.21 date code 8D. I want to ask would it be safe to try this custom firmwire on my PSP and whether it will work ??? and if not is there any other solution so that i can play downloaded games
well in contrast to using a pandora battery which seemingly you cant use, using CFW enabler is much safer. Initially by using chickhen, which runs from the ram components of your psp, you can essentially try one-hundred times to get it working however once chickhen R2 has loaded and you install CFW enabler…well then to actually get custom firmware, the installer will be touching the flash files (which isn’t very safe however if you dont do anything idiotic like turn off your psp..which may mean (semi-bricked) your good to go.All in all this mod isnt permanent and this is much safer as it toches the flash files for a short time. and installing custom themes is much safer aswell (5.00 to 5.02 (5.00 must be patched), i went through about 15 custom themes yesterday each applying them to my psp, which is great.All in all hope this helped
Thank for the reply but really i can’t get what you tried to say here may be i am wrong but i only understand few things that first i need to run chickenhen 100 times and i don’t need to turn off while it is working and may be till that time the chickenhen will start to work then i can update it with custom firmwire of 5.00 or 5.02. This is the only thing i can understand from ur reply kindly let me know if i m write otherwise i’ll take some of ur time and u need to teach me how to do that coz i m totally new with this. How do you exactly update from 3.xx?
Just overwrite the files on the mem stick and run it? Or need to flash it?

I only got my psp for 2 weeks and someone else put CFWE on it with chicken.
well that wasnt such a good idea, now your out on a busy street, with cars passing you in every direction and no where to turn.. should have done it your self.
Well first if your psp has been in sleep mode for its whole life.. turn it off and just in general turn it off.
turn it on go to usb mode and overwrite your previous cfwenbler. Then exit..
Run ChickHEN R2!
Load CFW ENABLER FROM THE THE MEMORY STICK ICON UNDER GAME..SLECT START wait about 3 seconds and your good to go..Simple as that
overwrite means replace.. meaning delete your old one and replace it with the 3.50

Okay, I got a brand new psp piano black (which came in a small box so I’m not sure when these were made) and came with CFW 4.01, I don’t know if it’s a TA088v3 or TA090v1.

i was able to run chickhen on my piano black 2001, and i placed cfe 3.50. but when i run it it said on the menu it shows that i don’t have CFW loaded, so i pressed x to get it flash.
all i get is this message

ok after you put it into photos (best to use picture folder) goto your pictures the folder must go in pictures then click on pictures in your psp and it will usually crash or get a green screen (green screen you got chickhen)

So I Installed and ran ChickHen R2 on my PSP 3000.
Then i ran the CFW 3.6 to 3.1. They all ended in “Custom firmware cannot be installed”
I tried with GEN-A for HEN and got blackscreen to shutoff after SUCCESS message and pressing O.
Can someone plz enlighten me? I would REALLY be thankful. My stick is Sony.
