And another one! Xenogears and Becus25 steering clear of the drama train with Custom Firmware Enabler v3.20. Again, this enables custom firmware features on your 5.03 PSP-3000 or TA-088v3 equipped hand-held. Use it with Team Typhoon’s ChickHEN.
CFWEnabler v3.20 changes…
- Now you can use plugins that are not on seplugins folder.
- Now we use our own systemctrl, not GENyUS ones.
- Version is now 5.00M33-6.
- Native 5.03 Pops is now supported.
- MS Speed Patch available.
- Fixed bug that did not patch version.txt properly.

now can use plugins but not seplugins. has anyone tried CWcheats if it works? please share thoughts.
Ok. I’m not new to this at all but I did not want to try the last update as ChickHEN + 503gen-a on my psp3000 is working great with no issues. But now I would like to try this out but is it ok to use this even though I am currently using 503gen-a? Do i need to restart first to bring my psp back to OFW 503 before trying this or can I not try it at all since I have already used 503gen-a (as it flashed something the first time I used it)? Can someone who has used both verify if I can try this out?

yes I switched between GEN-A and M33 several times no bugs and I didn’t have to go back to chickHEN. though if you have GEN-A and then flash M33 if you go back to the GAN-A installer enabler it will launch M33 until you flash GEN-A. I’m my theory the only thing that could go wrong is you would corrupt a CFW file and not be able to use CFW enabler until it gets re flashed. I wouldn’t try taking out the battery when flashing anything. you can’t alternate between GEN-A and M33 unless you re flash them because they overwrite each other.
Thanks! All I did to be safe was restart my psp so it would default back to 5.03 OFW. Then started chickHEN and then the enabler. Success with no bricking. ^_^ Appreciate the help.
Alright, so what’s the difference between this and the 5.03GEN-A, and which should I use? I have a PSP 3000 and am currently using the 5.03GEN-A.
If I should switch, how can I safely do so? I don’t see a way to uninstall the 5.03GEN-A and I don’t want that to mess up the installation of this one.
reboot your psp first, i find that it works better to start on OFW, then run chickhen then install CFE,,, i went from GenA to CFE301 now just changed to CFE 320, made the move with no problem at all, so it should be ok but like they say “USE AT YOUR OWN RISK”,,,,,,
Does the CFE need the same type of startup phase, where every time you want to load it you have to load up ChickHEN then load up the CFE through some sort of loader that restarts into CFE?
best way to avoid having to do that is just put the psp on standby or sleep mode,, i don’t know if there’s any other way to run CFE without have to run chickHen everytime, if there is a way i’m sure someone else would be able to help,,,

i’ve never had any crashes on CFE although i did with GenA only problem i had with CFE is running my plugins which runs alright with GenA, but all in all i’d say CFE is better at the moment which i’m really greatful for,,,,

Is there a step by step tutorial anywhere to get all of these programs working to play iso’s? If so, please direct me to them. Sorry, total noob here who has been reading and getting nowhere in a hurry. Thanks guys.
1. install chickHEN r2 (psp 2k and 3k ver. 5.03)
2. install chickHEN 5.03gen A, CFE 3.10, or CFE 3.20. *note dont install all 3 versions. just pick one.
3. once finished and fully installed, make a new folder in your memory stick root. name folder “ISO.”
4. drag your backups into the “ISO” folder and your good to go.
5. i am not a professional , im not responsible for any damages to your psp. you do on your own behalf.

can the makers of of CFW enabler produce a video tutorial… =) with this it will be much more safe for the psp3000 owners to tweak their own psp =) and much more big help for the noobs…. just wondering if the makers can do produce a video tutorial…. i’m not demanding for it =) haha!!

for all (2k & 3k) you have to download the “ver 5.03″ and install manualy.
“DOWNLOAD only” *** do not update through network, thus this will update you to ver 5.50 and you’ll be SOL***

just got a PSP 2Kv3 with 4.05 Official Firmware, upadated to 5.03 Official Firmware..MANUALLY., installed ChickHen R2, enabled Custom Firmware Enabler….now i have the PSP 2Kv3 running with 5.03 M33, playing ISO/CSO games, Homebrew and GBA’s. you see its all the same with any PSP. 2Kv3 and 3K, unless the Firware is 5.03, no more no less, but dont upgrade to 5.03 using the internet coz they will give you the latest firmware w/c is 5.51, and you cannot go back and do the hacking. for hackable PSP 1K and 2K v1/v2, its either by pandora or the Hen method, but with hackable PSP, does’not matter if you are OFW 5.51, you can always go back or downgrade your PSP 1K and 2K v1/v2.
it works on 2000 as well if that’s what you are wondering, it’s just been adapted to work on 3000 as well that’s all
this should work for all 2k and the 3k’s. im currently running on 3k ta-90 v2 mob

OK… I’ve modded a few phats in the past and now I just got the PSP 3000 Rock Band Bundle (because I knew Firmware 5.01 was on it).
1. I manually upgraded to 5.02 OFW and then 5.03 OFW.
2. I copied over the ChickHEN R2 tiff image with a few random JPGs and can run it. The PSP shows System Software “5.03 ChickHEN R2″.
3. I connect the PSP to my computer on USB. Then I run the “5.03 GEN-A for HEN”’s LAUNCH_ME.EXE on my computer. The window pops up and I select the PSP 3000, Full, and YES then push Start.
All that happens, in a matter of seconds, is files that look like they should have been copied to the PSP, show up in the same folder on my computer as the LAUNCH_ME.EXE. Another popup says the files were copied to the PSP … which they were not.
So my question is… where do I manually put the “files” folder, flasher.prx, reboot.prx, GEN.BAK, and the main EBOOT.PBP files?
That is the only step holding me back.

you have to click on the second exe cause i had the same problem
click lauch me.exe then the cfw.exe you should get a cmd screen for a second and it should be done,,

Thanks, double-clicking did nothing but once you mentioned a DOS window I decided to open a command prompt and run it manually. I immediately got an error that I was missing crucial parameters. Luckily it spit out example code. I modified it to my configuration and it worked … kind of. Although files copied, a couple seemed to be put in the wrong folders. So I’m trying to figure out where a couple need to be moved to.
Here is the command line method..
psp-cfw 0 -slim 1 1 F
Basically:
“psp-cfw” being the executable
“0″ means Full Mode
“-slim” means PSP-3000
“1″ debug ON
“1″ Install mode ON
“F” the PSP assigned drive letter
Then I saw all the hardware checks followed by the file dumps.
With the exception of moving files… at least this method got them on the PSP.
i don’t know why it’s not done it automatically on your psp and why it placed the files in wrong folders,,, but if you like to try, when you download GenA don’t save it just open it on the main screen then double click lauch me.exe then follow the intruction as you have done, then double click the cfw.exe that should work cause that’s how i did it with mine and everything was placed where it was suppose to be and worked first time,,,

NM. I figured it out. Apparently the -slim option references the PSP 2000. i noticed some of the PRX files ended in 2g instead of 3g. When I ran the Installer-Loader, it complained about a missing systemctrl_03g.prx file. I checked the PSP and realized the file was there but ended in 02g instead…so did a bunch of other files.
The files that created themselves on my computer… I just copied them to their respective PSP folders (removing the 02g files) and viola! It worked.
System Software now reflects “5.03 GEN-A (Full)”
I think when the progam asking you about your psp drive, you might input wrong format that’s why those file went straight to your computer. Try to launch the software again, if the program asks for psp drive, if your psp drive is on “f” drive, just input f and click “start”. It happened to me too on my first try, I input f: instead of just f only, those files went to my computer.
AH! New issue. Ran Go Sudoku (ISO) and it works fine. When it tries to Save the initial game settings…it says their isn’t enough room on the Memory Pro Duo. This is a 4GB that came in the bundle and was formatted by this very PSP 3000. It has like 3.5gb free.
Is there a setting to make the Memory Pro Duo visible to the games as writable media?

Take the umd cartridge out of your psp when attempting to run chickhen. Put it back in when you run isos in cfw or gen-a.

I’m having the same issue as Zen. Does anyone have a screen of the way the folders and files go or something?
When I click psp-cfw.exe a cmd flashes then disapeers real fast and nothing is copied to psp.
The blank space on launch me PSP Unit Drive: I have no clue what to type there maybe that’s whats wrong im clicking start with out typing anything

I tried putting E drive in that blank space then i tried putting CERTA-PSP. Neither worked
When I ran “launch-me.exe”, a folder called “files” and 3 other files (eboot.pbp, reboot.prx, and flasher.prx) appeared on my computer.
I copied the folder “files” to the root of the PSP (ms0:/). Then on the PSP I made a folder called “503gena” under ms0:/PSP/GAME and copied eboot.pbp, flasher.prx, and reboot.prx into it.
Then I disconnected the PSP from the USB cable.
I checked one final time that the System Software was 5.03 ChickHEN R2.
Then I ran the installer and flashed the firmware. Upon reboot the System Software reflected 5.03 Gen-A (Full).
ISOs worked as well as homebrew. I also resolved my Saving Games issue. It was game specific so I just copied the savegame folder from my PSP phat to the 3000 and I was able to save games again.
Thanks for that Zen but I just tryed to post jonas2’s thread in hacks and cracks section. My problem was solved by reading what you’re supposed to put in the PSP Unit Drive. I only looked in tutorials and help for info on it, being frustrated i started to look elsewhere and boom found it there.
Issue solved for anyone using PSP3000 only the PSP Unit Drive: E, or what ever windows assigns to your psp in usb mode. Thanks to a thread I found on the forum. It was in a section I thought it would be in tutorial or help that is why I asked here before I found it.

Is there a way to rip my UMD games from my 3000 to my laptop or memorycard?
yes, what you do is open VSH menu and change usb device to UMD. Once this is done plug in your psp and instead of memory showing up, a folder with your ISO file(the game) will be there.

So far this sounds the same as the other in file wise,this one makes a files folder and all that annoying stuff flasher.prx and stuff,or w/e it is,I don’t know what to use. Either way I cant get PlayStation 1 working on either =(
This is how i did to make psx games work on CFWEnabler 3.20.After flashing firmware i flashd the pops modules from 5.00 firmware.After i did this i downloaded 5.00 m33 se plugins and copied it to root of the memory stick.Start a psx game and hold R button a menu will come up with all firmware pops you need for psx games,choose one you need for the game you are playing and press x.You can find on the net what firmware pops you need for the game you are playing.CWcheats for psp and psx games works, just press and hold select button in game.Sorry for my bad english but i hope this will help…..

i have gen-a installed and uninstalled it using the CFWE. i noticed that there’s a “files” folder in my memory card and was wondering if that’s from Gen-A. should i delete it? or leave it be? thanks!
