PSP Rubik’s Cube v1.6 Released

greg | June 3, 2009

Hey Russ, if you’re reading this — you got nothin’ on my record time! Yeah, you know what’s up. And on another note: EXTER has released Rubik’s Cube v1.6 -

The Rubik’s Cube is a 3D mechanical puzzle invented in Ernő Rubik. In a classic Rubik’s Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers, among six solid colors (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow). A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid color.

The controls in this homebrew are designed to easily perform “Move notation” algorithms.

Rubik’s Cube v1.6 changes…

  • Move animation speed is now 40% faster.
  • The colors now match the colors of a real rubik’s cube (parallel sides were previously inverted).
  • Timer (starts when the cube is scrambled and stops when the cube is solved).

My time was about 3 minutes :D
Though the real cubic would take me under 20 seconds

want more contrasting colors: green and yellow look almost the same to me

Maybe adding symbols to each colour would help. Then even colourblind people could play.

I agree with the below comment about adding larger cubes. Maybe multiple dimensions as well. ;-) You’re not limited by the laws of physics, so go nuts!
