Second I was doing research on this awesome chickhen thing and other are saying iso cso and custom firmware don’t work I have a psp-300 with firmware 4.20 with this latest chickhen can i do cso and custom firmware. Thanks for your help and stop hatin on dark_alex he pretty much open the gates to custom firmwares back in the day and you guys know it

You know that this HEN is based on CFW modules so DAX is still the main reason to have this HEN right now
Devhook for 2.71 don’t work with this HEN but I think that’s because the kernel issue -it’s writen on 1.50 based kernel but I was wondering can s.o try to build it for 5.00 firmware-there is src in DAx’s site I think

i’ll get a 3000 when a iso/cso loader is released. homebrew capabilities is the shit but not enough for me to go out and drop $170. or maybe i will..I got into the scene when Devhook was not being used as much with dax pumping out custom firmware, before m33 was around

Fantastic. It’s infuriating that Youtube doesn’t work on the PSP’s browser. When I used to have a fat I loved playing PSX games on it, so I hope that features coming up soon!

I can’t run on my PSP, it’s hang, then turn off automatically. After I open, it’s nothing. It nevern been run, or can’t run.

My PSP is 3006, Firmware is 5.03.

My PSP can run the Pong game via Griftship’s UMD that loaded from this web site early.

But, I can’t use an exploit from this TIFF file in this forum? It’s always hang.

I try this on my psp-2000, the 1st time, it works and changes to version 5.03 Chick Hen R2 and GBA games can be played, but when try to run Ultimate psptube high memory mode, it hangs and turns off automatically.
When i turn it on again, it goes back to version 5.03 and it can’t run any homebrew games anymore. I suspect this exploit only works once.
Anyone out there have any ideas? Thanks!

Hey guys. For those of you who are having trouble with getting this to work (aka freeze then shut down) as I have had I think I may have found a way to help. I tried everything everyone had suggested on every youtube video and every sites forum posts. Finally I decided to try something based off what someone said in a forum (sorry I can’t remember who the poster or which site it was on). Granted I had tried there suggestion but it failed for me as well so I modified it a bit. Anyways to the point.

1. Back-up all your game data and whatever you want to keep then format the memstick.

2. Add the h.bin file to the root of the memstick.

3. copy and paste the CHICKHEN folder to psp/photo folder (if photo folder is not present just create it, make sure to use all caps.)

4. ok here is where the trick comes in. make a copy of one of the chickHEN pictures inside the chickHEN folder and pasted it someplace (desktop should be fine) and rename it chickHENe. Continue this step each time changing the letter at the end f, g, then h. Really you could probably name these images anything you want but to keep with the scheme I just used the name scheme that was already in place.

5. at this point you should have chickHENe thru chickHENh on your desktop. Now copy those 4 new images into the chickHEN folder inside psp/photo.

6. disconnect your usb cable.

7. Restore psp default settings.

8. Go to pictures folder on psp and click on the chickHEN folder. As the thumbnails start to appear scroll down to the bottom and wait for the slim.tiff image to load and BAM you should get pretty colors and your psp should restart into HEN mode.

Alright sorry that was so long but was trying to be very clear to anyone new to this or those who may not understand. Any questions just ask and hopefully this works for you. It did for me after everything else.

Killua – the one other thing I could add. I noticed that I would have times where the hack would work perfectly time and time again and then other times where it would just reset my PSP. I finally noticed what I think is a pattern. Folks may call BS on this, at least on my PSP the HEN will never work if I only have one bar or less on my battery indicator. I.e. Once I charged up my battery again to at least the mid point, the HEN was stable again. Again, call BS if you want, but it seems to be a stable pattern at least on my device. (brand new silver 3000 slim here).

ok.. I followed every singel intructions!!.. bUt i have a question… a long time ago… i my psp is 4.01 out of the box.. and i updated it to 5.03 OFW.. i’ve tried the chickHEN.. it ALLWAYS shuts down.. by the way.. I have PSP 2000 PB 4.01 out of the box.. could somebody help me?

hi..i stucked,but i saw the last comment so i did it everything again.i formated the memory stcik and i put the Chicken to my PSP and reset settings and after that i turned off the auto start and cache and i went to the PHOTO folder a leaved on the pictures and the PSP its turned off and i did this more than 3 times(to be sure)but nothing happend,the version is still 5.03 and i can not start the PSPident 0.4 it says the data is corrupted.so i dont know what can i do?if someone can help me…thanks a lot…

Hey,I just bought a PSP 3000 and updraged to 5.03, do I use the Slim folder or am I missing a 3000 folder?

Well… I tried everyone’s tips on here and still didn’t really have any luck… So I started moving files around between the PSP\PHOTO folder and the \PICTURES Folder. For me it finally worked when I put all 8 photos in the PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN folder so it has the 4 original .gif’s from the original chickhen r2 d/l. Then I put the 4 renamed .gif’s into the same folder. So you should have 8 .gif’s named ChickHEN(a-h).gif and then the slim.tiff file. Oh, I also of course had to put the h.bin file in the root mem stick folder. Then I turned on the PSP and went to the photo –> Memory stick icon. Then went to the ChickHEN folder Then I slowly scrolled down to each icon and waited for it to show the file name. As soon as it loaded the name I went down to the next one. When I got to the last icon, which was the slim.tiff file it did some crazy pixelated colors and then rebooted. I just kinda thought that it messed up again but when I checked the system info it said 5.03 ChickHEN R2 ! ! ! S W E E T ! ! ! I have a 3001 Slim PSP. This is just what worked for me. If you’re having trouble try it and see. If it works cool if not, keep messing with it, it works.

After you get the chick hen running on ANY psp you can use a new software i forget what its called and it enables ISO/CSO playing – for whatever you need it, i don’t know… Pirating, backups, or faster running what ever you call it – its possible

Guys as Adriano said try to change the language to US it worked for me.Before to change the language i had tried all the ways these guys mentioned and they (had failed for me..) succeed for others.

It work on my PSP-2006 with v3 board OFW 5.03
As mention above just make additional copy of the gif file from a-h thats 8 all gif image file, then CAREFULLY FOLLOW the image while its opening in preview mode one by one down to bottom, a trigger will happen 100%

I think the restore default settings also helps

Hi guys, I have a HUGE problem. I just cant hack my psp I tried every possible way and chickhen just doesn’t load for me I have loaded it twice when I was on 3.50 but now I am on 5.03 and it seems impossible to hack it without pandora battery, can anyone help me? :(

When I then got 16GB MS and successfully installed Chickhen. When I start a game now I always get:
“the game could not be started” (8002031).

What can I do to make it work.
