Netfront Internet Browser Beta 3 – HighMemoryMod

greg | April 13, 2009

Somehow Ardatan has managed to again increase your surfing speed by an astonishing 200% (Slim only). That’s right, 200%. How is that possible? Who knows… How was the 200% even calculated? Who cares… Just know — it’s faster all right.

Netfront High Memory Mod

Furthermore, included is a plugin — copy “htmlviewer_plugin.prx” to flash0:/vsh/module. Now the HighMemoryMod patch by Team P86 is applied when launching the browser from the XMB. Oh, and ensure you create a backup of the original first.

Netfront Beta 3 – HighMemoryMod:

  • The new logo was added (Thanks, Lelouch15)
  • The speed on Slim was increased (200%)
  • There is a bug which the mod didn’t use UMD Cache and it used the same memory part with Fat… Fixed…
  • The mouse lag was fixed on Slim (Sometimes it may lag)
  • XMB Plugin was added… If you want to use this mod instead of the default one, you should flash vsh folder… (flash0)…
  • Etc. Etc.

Why so many first comments?
Anyways on the htmlviewer_plugin.prx does that work by it’s self or does it have to have the homebrew on the memory stick?

(is it a re-route or a stand alone plugin?)

It frees all RAM and sets memory to high and loads the browser(eboot).

Thx (I figured that out like 3 seconds after I posted that post)

Thanks for the hack man xD I would use it but i’m having problems (you’ve seen me on a site before I’m Punk777E/Punk Of Rap more than likely the first one) the PSP will stop after the message shown in the photo above… Only thing i can do is quit… I believe it was QJ we met i specified me having a problem with Beta 1 but i did not report beta 2 or 3..

Wait wait wait. So what does the flash plugin do? I backed up my 1st and put this on in, but the normal browser doesn’t even launch from XMB with that plugin. This homebrew still launches, though. What does this do?

Comment by James
2009-04-13 18:55:08

The plugin, not the homebrew is what I want to know what it does.

I used the firefox logo because it was cool :P Since it’s in pic0 format it doesn’t look as good as it really is, but the functionality of the program makes up for that ^^. In the last version there was a bug where the psp slim and fat used an equal amount of ram. This is now Fixed, giving the slim a 200% speed improvement. If you use the XMB plugin, the program will startup in 2 seconds instead of maybe 10 seconds if you start it as a homebrew app under game. A small drawback is that the parental password doesn’t work if you use the XMB plugin =( So be careful to who you give your psp since they can look in your browsing history ;)

a little help.

“Furthermore, included is a plugin — copy “htmlviewer_plugin.prx” to flash0:/vsh/module” i can’t find flash0:/vsh/module. i don’t have module folder on flash0

Comment by James
2009-04-14 14:35:43

For the .prx file, do the following. Open up your flash0, open VHS folder. At the top, click tools, then folder options. Click the view tab and under “hidden files and folders” (the subfolder of “files and folders”) click the radio button for “show hidden “files and folders”. And underneath that, uncheck the check box for “Hide Protected Operating system files [recomended]“. There you go. :) You can check them back when your done.

ran into the same prob here…all u have to do is drag and drop the module folder from the rar file into flash0:/vsh/ by using ur comp.

p.s. hold the R trigger while booting ur psp then go to advanced and toggle flash0 USB to see the flash0 instead of the memstick on ur comp

You need a PSP 1000(phat) or 2000 (slim) with CFW to use this since it’s Homebrew.

The PSP 3000 is currently non CFWable lol

your on a homebrew site and your asking that!? you need help… go trade your 3K for a 2K and mod it… or dont since they seem close to being able to mod it.
