Wagic the Homebrewing 0.5.1 (WTH?!) Released

Considering I was never really a fan of such card games growing up, I’ll let the author brand this bad boy, right after the screenshot –
Wagic is an heroic-fantasy game in which you battle as a sorcerer against your PSP. It is based on the rules of a very famous collectible card game. In Wagic, you create a deck of creatures and spell cards, then play with this deck against the AI’s decks. As you win battles, you earn credits that you can spend in the Shop to buy more cards and improve your deck.
And the feature list to go with that –
- More than 1300 cards in the default package, and hundreds more available on Wagic’s forums
- Deck Editor, credits system to get more cards and improve your deck
- Create your own cards with a simple text editor, easily add your own graphics
- 1 Player mode against the AI
- 2 players hotseat
- “Demo” mode (AI vs AI)
- 16 different opponents, and you can create many more with a simple text editor

I almost never donate but if he makes this as bad ass as it can be with a shit load of cards Id donate and u should to way to go man. I say man cuz most card players are men, except pokemon those are for little girls lol just kidding. but not really. but hologram carda no matter what are kinda cool as well

This is a pretty good take on the original game. you will have to do some searching to get the original card art, but for the most part it is available. mine adds up to a total of almost 200 megs for the game and art. good game overall. if you liked mtg 15 years ago like i did, this will allow you to play all the new and old stuff without spending your retirement on cards.
how does this game take up 200mb in your psp? how are you putting original game art in how would it be compatible ? cuz i got the original mtg for pc
the original game art is downloadable from the forums at wagic and around the net in general. just do a search for wagic deck art or something like that. you’ll come up with some hits. i got the art for revised, beta, arabian knights, the dark, legends, 9ed, 10ed, ice ages, portal, and a few others. the game art from the origianl pc game is not directly compatible.
yea alot of it i didnt understand like how to add the decks into what txt or program line. I would love to have the 200 + mb you got hell if i had all the decks i would probably never put my psp back down. I miss my cards so much. I sold them cuz no one played anymore it was all Ugioh and pokemon. :(
i was thinking about putting up a torrernt with the whole thing, but I don’t have time at the moment. speaking of cards… i saw that a full set of beta sells for about $12,000.00 i sold all of my stuff, including 1 alpha set, 3 beta sets, and 4 unlimited sets, along with most everything up to ice age for $3,000.00 about 15 years ago….. i feel violated…..
I’ve been playing the earlier versions of this for awhile. A short time ago, the author ran into legal trouble with Wizards of the Coast (who publish Magic the Gathering), which is why he doesn’t mention the game by name anywhere anymore, or use the card art himself.
The AI is rather weak. But keep in mind this program is nothing short of astounding. Due to the vast complexities of the game (different cards do so many different things), it’s amazing that it plays as well as it does now.
I should also mention – this game wants to install in the PSP/GAME/ folder. But I only got it to work in the GAME5XX folder instead.
hmm mine is in the game folder everything always works for me in the game folder I am on 5.00 m33-6 phat. i do wish there is more graphics for the cards though.
if you got to wololo.net/wagic, then click on the forum link, and finally select the “user made content”. there are plenty of sets to choose. please keep in mind this is a work in progress and currently not all cards work. a list is given with the set on which work and do not work. in total there are about 2500 working cards. the DL of the current 0.5.1 version only contains about 1300. it is also very easy to code your own with a text editor.
