Bookr v8.0 Released

greg | March 3, 2009

If you’re mobile and have something to read or catch up on, use this — Nguyen Chi Tam’s Bookr. It supports plain text, PDF, CHM, and HTML documents. That’s it, that’s all. Enjoy.

Bookr v8.0 changes:

  • Uses internal Internet Browser to display CHM/HTML files.
  • Can convert Vietnamese HTML content to display on Internet Browser (which at the moment does not support Vietnamese Codepage).
  • Use swap button correctly

Self-prescribed fail, as it were.

However, recognizing the problem is the first step to the problem.

Don’t be a loser.
Dont bother posting if you havn’t got anything vaguely useful to say.
And you must have failed English at the very least with phrases like ‘how i fail’.

About time for an update… One of the most useful homebrew apps for the PSP. Sure you could convert PDFs to HTML and open them with the PSP’s browser but where’s the fun in that ? :)

Update: I have to say, i was a little disappointed with this. It crashes on opening files that worked perfectly fine on 0.7.1.

Hopefully this gets sorted soon. For now I’ve switched back to the old version.

maybe I’m stupid, but every time I try to open a PDF file the system crashes.
The pdf file I’m trying to open is 634 kb… is there a limit on how big the file can be?

It used to be. Around 33 or 35 MB.

I don’t see a reason to update. . . This version crashed after skipping ten pages. . . The old version (0.713xx) has never crashed for me and I’m using the same ebook. . .
Bah, Humbug!

does this require to have a 1.50 kernal? cuz if so, then i’m out of luck.

but is there a file size limit? because i would like to carry some ebooks around.

maybe some of my favorite series…Sword of Truth…if possible.

Great app thanks for the update. However, lots of trouble crashing with pdfs, the last version was slower but didn’t seem to crash

Yeah mine crashes each time i try to open a pdf as well. Same pdfs work fine on the previous version… i have reverted back until they release a new version.

I’ve switched back to 0.71. PDFs that loaded in 0.71 now either don’t load at all (freezing the machine), or don’t render properly and then freeze after a couple of pages.

Text files are still perfect :-)
