PSPVC v3.60 Released: PSP Video Converter

greg | March 2, 2009

Making its way up the pure dopeness scale is Nick’s PSP Video Converter with the added ability to embed your own logo/watermark on encoded videos. And of course PSPVC v3.60 adds more than just that… Changes detailed below; PSPVC recap right here: convert just about any video format to a PSP compatible format, and enjoy. It’s real easy.

PSPVC v3.60 changes:

  • Added a whole new “Logo” section that enables you to add your own logo/watermark
  • Added a new “Line Darkening” option to “Tweak Image” which makes the lines… eh… darker
  • Added a memory stick space-check when uploading a video to the PSP
  • Updated the sharpening filter LimitedSharpen to LMFmod
  • Increased the “Custom Resolution” limit from 3 to 4 digits
  • Fixed a subtitle-extraction bug when converting
  • fixed bug causing some subtitles to show up incorrect while previewing video
  • Fixed a screenshot-marker bug
  • Misc improvements

I know i don’t really care about the “line darkening” feature but the logo thing sounds fun to mess with (gonna annoy the heck outta somebody with a watermark xD)

and i beleive i was the one that requested a 4 digit “resolution” thing (though now i know it’s pointless)

If you have a recent nVidia card, you can use software called Badaboom to transcode videos for your PSP very, very fast. It uses your card’s GPU rather than the CPU, and ripping a Blu-Ray to 1080p MKV took about an hour. I expect DVD to PSP would take about 20 minutes.
