FX PowerSpoof!

greg | January 26, 2009

Now you’re playing with power! Introducing NoEffex’s FX PowerSpoof plugin. You know when certain [game] updates require 75% or more battery power to install, well this little doozy of a plugin will simply bypass that reporting a 100% charge each time. Easy does it.

The main use for this is those games that install updates sony-style, and require 75% or so battery, when that is totally unnecessary and a waste of your time, because if you run out of battery – oh well, start over, nothing harmed, as it does not flash a thing.

How NOT to use:
During flashing things that require 75% battery. Not a bright idea. You can, but if you screw up, not my problem.

How it works:
Patches

  1. scePowerGetBatteryPercent to always return 100 via jr ra->addiu $v0, $zero, 100
  2. scePowerIsLowBattery to always return 0 via jr ra->addu $v0, $zero, $zero
  3. scePowerIsBatteryExist to always return 1 via jr ra->addiu $v0, $zero, 0×0001

THEN

Unloads itself, so it won’t make your kernel memory all lame and sliced up

Great idea, but use with caution. I’m sure there is gonna be a noob that wants to update his custom firmware with 1% battery left…

This advertisement would be more effective if you gave us the link.
Either way, i don’t think this should be allowed here anyway.

Could be quite useful for Snes9x as someone had the genius idea to disable save states when the battery is low. Only problem is you don’t know if it’s actually low… heh

Awesome work, NoEffex. I hope a dozen kids brick the fuck out of their PSP’s with this.

Seriously, man, you obviously have some coding skills, why don’t you dedicate them to more…well, useful ends? This isn’t exactly something you want or need to leave installed on your PSP. Cheating the flash protection stuff isn’t any cooler than cheating Socom [again].

You Barely need 20% Battery Life and This Is A “Use It At Your Own Risk” Thing And Plus I always Keep A Pandora Battery And MMS Handy Just In case I Decide To F*k Up My PSP

Must be me but half the people who are like bitching about this missed the point? Whenever you download patches for most online games on the PSP it requires a 75% battery which isn’t needed, that’s what this is really for, it even says that
