iR Shell v4.9 Released

Forget the XMB and just have iR Shell auto start straight from the get-go… AhMan’s iR Shell is a feature rich shell replacement that does everything: multi-task between a UMD, homebrew, ISO, and any of the integrated iR Shell functions, enjoy TV out via RemoteJoy, Net/USBHostFS support for PC<->PSP connectivity, control other infrared (Phat only) electronics, listen to your own tunes while in-game, and the list goes on and on… It’s no doubt the #1 shell with a bullet.
iR Shell v4.9 changes:
- Support PlayStation Network: download games & demos.
- Interlaced TV support has been added for PSP Slim. Games & homebrews launched via iR Shell will inherit the iR Shell TV mode. Most games will run at full speed with default CPU clock.
- For Slim PSP TV out, added an option to control the audio output to PSP speaker. This will be useful for docking station with TV out & charging capabilities.
- Added an option to disable Memory Stick MagicGate support. This is meant to be used for PhotoFast microSD to MSPD adapter, or other similar non-MagicGate MS. By disabling the MagicGate support, you will no longer experience the annoying pause in XMB, such as turning on the PSP, switching off USB mode from XMB, quitting game/homebrew back to XMB, entering XMB video directory, etc.
- Added connection timeout support for NetHostFS.
- For IR learning remote, added the ability to abort the learning process without waiting for timeout.
- Support user provided font files.
- Plus various bug fixes.

i cant get it to load iso’s in nethostfs it always says no umd loaded please insert disk and i have it on noumd mode. any suggestions
Patch irshell to your firmware ^^ I had the same problem. Look in the root of your memorystick for the Irshell file and in there is a patch file. Open it while using your file browser on irshell and open the one that has your firmware. Try both the prx files. And you’re done.

How do I install this on my PSP Slim? I looked in the Release_Note.txt and thried Google for instructions, but couldn’t find any.

Uh.. pretty sure sony has never made a patch specifically for irshell lol.
$ony are too busy making a new PSP to worry about older versions, to make more profits, so we will not get anything better by way of updates, except for security updates to try to block homebrew.

its aruldy set up for you just copy and paste psp and irshell to your memory card.
tested its interlaced support my god the fusa project just got eaten alive. every game works the gfx are not bad or slow only brave story had slight sound leg more of a bit of shuttering but not game braking. this is all not running overclocked.

I tried that 3.90 m33 patch with the previous version of irshell but many features did not work. Tried it now with this new irshell 4.9 and it works. I wonder why 3.90 m33 is not on the patch list?…I like 3.90 because of the custom lockdown theme and the XMB editor program is awesome!!!
What version of lockdown are you using? cause I use V3 and it works fine in 5.00 still, and I had to manualy convert the XMB theme peices I wanted, but I do have the ones I want in 5.00, just google up the RCO editor, and the unencrpyted RCO for 5, and then just export all images from the older RCO, and then open the 5 one and click replace multiple, and then go into the side menus and ajust any other isues you may have (like if you need a longer gameboot screen, etc)

hey can anyone help me with IRSHELL… i have a cfw 3.90m33. i have downloaded the patch for 3.90 and paste it at the irshell folder in my psp…i have disabled all the plugins except irshell. but when i run irshell it say the game could not load….T_T
i have resolved the problem…my bad, i was running the irshell for phat all along. i shouldve thought that earlier. hehehe tnx anyway
is there any way for me to play iso/cso in irshell cause i cant seem to run any of my previews iso. and the patch thing, when i go to directory/irshell/patch…i cant find my FW version there. ive got 3.90m33-3. i will appreciate any of your help..tnx guyz!

im on 5.00 m33-6 ans i cant get “backup” isos to launch.i go to ir configurator and neither m33 noumd mode or sony np9660 noumd mode seem to work. ive tried both and rebooted.
To launch iso/cso on irshell you first need to PATCH it to your firmware. you can do so by browsing on irshell and go to the root of your memorystick. Open the Irshell map and then Patch. Then the one of the firmware you are using. Open both prxes and see which one gives a result. Now you can play iso/cso on Irshell :D

I have 5.00m33-6 with 1.5 kernal and the normal version won’t work only the 1.5 version. Please answer my comment by clicking on my name and going to the bottom of the page and answering plzz.
only 1.5 will work with a 1.5 kernel jeez wanna use the new one upgrade. everything works on new kernels anyways why do people still use 1.5.
hey kirby. versin of 5.00 m33 are you using with lockdownv? i just tried it on the latest m33 but it freezes when the xmb should load up.
My experiences of bugs/annoyances- i may just be inexperienced with IRShell
-when I press L+select to go to xmb it pulls up the VSH menu and I have to press select again to close it- it seems like its registering an extra command w/ select
-there doesn’t seem like there is an easy way to exit running background applications besides home, which makes it impossible to quit out of XMB without resetting IRShell because the home key doesn’t allow you to exit

nm guys i got lockdown v3 to work with 5.00m33-6. i was being an idiot installing it. =P
can someone plz help me? i have a psp phat and running under 3.80 m33-5. for some reason when i try to connect to usbhost i get an error message telling me: error: cant connect to usb host click any key to continue. can someone plz help? thnx =)

ummm problem im using 5.00m33-6 with psp 1.50 kernel and leda and i installed the 3xx folder version and when i go to setup remote learner once i press a key to teach the psp freezes and shuts off ?!?!? any ideas
help!
