greg | December 26, 2008

Emulating classics from decades to a couple years ago is LBICELYNE’s FinalBurn Alpha for the PlayStation Portable (FBA4PSP). Literally thousands of titles are supported; see the included gamelist.txt.

WWF WrestleFest

This is PSP-Hacks’ first time covering FBA4PSP. So, here’s the 411: OopsWare originally ported FinalBurn Alpha to the PSP and it emulates the PGM, Cave, CPS 1, 2 & 3, Seta, Sega, and Konami systems.

What is cps? Is that capcom play station? Mvc2!? Merry christmas indeed! (If its true)

CPS = Capcom Play System. CPS1 is classic capcom arcade games (Final Fight generation games). CPS2 was the next run (Alien Vs Pred, Punisher, Xmen Vs SF, Marvel Vs Capcom *1* etc)

MvsC2 was a CPS3/Naomi game. Now, Final Burn Alpha claims to play CPS3, but i dunno about MvsC2. I suppose theres one way to find out though, right? :)

MvsC2 is Naomi, so no dice.

Earlier this year, CPS3 was cracked on the 10th anniversary of its inception, which is why it is now playable.

MAME roms are FB compatible you just have to sort out which roms you need for this and which bios files. i want to set this up myself but its just too much damn sorting, MAME set is f’ing huge anymore and this FBA4PSP supports a lot of games

if you look in the roms folder you will notice a few config files for some games. If you download these games they will load no problem .so basicly any other games you wanna play you have to create your own configuration file for wich is beyond me maybe you can find them somewhere for down load hope this helps gl

yeah, all i get are .bin files, not the .rom files that are required… anyone know where to get .rom files for these games or know of a converter for the .bin files?

there should not be any bin or rom files in the roms directory. when you download a mame rom they come in in a zip file.they should stay zipped when you put them in the roms folder or the emulator will not even show it.

On the note of Naomi MvC2, the Naomi bios was cracked Jan 2008 so it is possible for a naomi emulator to maybe make its way on the psp. But getting it to run at 60 fps would be pretty hard and any final result would probably only work for the 2000 series.

Would be sick if Naomi gets added though, since that would also mean we get to play GGX and Melty blood on PSP which would be F**kin tight.

Naomi, has to be next. What is there left to hope for? Cleaner Game play, and 4-player WiFi/Adhoc support? I’m down..

I want to play the old arcade X-Men, and the Simpsons Arcade game, but can’t figure it out. Also I placed the EBOOT for all assuming that would run everything, because I don’t know what Cave, Sega and all the other things mean. Please help me. Ican get Final Fight to work but that’s it.

OK…this will run CPS3 games, but it has to be a NoCD rom (sfiiin, sfiii2n, sfiii3n). It will not run any game that is the cd. It will just say that the CD drive is not placed correctly. However, it will play the games….but very slowly. lol.
This is being on V12P4. I will test and see if it will play Capcom VS SNK or MVC2
