Homebrew Fun: TrickBrick v3
greg | November 15, 2008
If you could buy PSP homebrew from an IT Store, and if the IT Store was still around, you’d probably find something like this — Playboy21’s TrickBrick.
The concept is simple: your friend wants his/her PSP hacked, they come to you and you’ve already downloaded TrickBrick with the intent of causing a real shit storm. You then mimic a custom firmware flash using TrickBrick and well, you know the rest… Your friend snaps and hopefully doesn’t punch you out before realizing it’s all a show.

one word: evil
LOL, this is good.
Evil in it’s glorious intent to trick!
now this is bloody funny!
I think you’re forgetting one thing – without a hacked PSP, how would you run the homebrew? ;)
Cloudy
haha… how about hacking it first, in super stealth mode, without your friend’s knowledge?
haha Cloudy and greg xD
Nah… What should be done is to port this to a magic memory stick – so it runs this instead of DC7 ;)
Cloudy
Meanest trick ever! I’m definitely using this on April 1st ;)
haha Ash,i’m planning to do that with my tool as well.I managed to make my cousin brother cry yesterday when i ran my tool on his unit.It was pure lol’s mwahaha
That’s just stupid. But I might use it someday.
if you have the time machine ipl and jas0nuk’s elf menu, just copy it to the ELF folder, rename it (i just did Installer.pbp but it doesnt really matter. just make sure the “.pbp” extension is still there) and viola. i did it to my friend that way and he almost started crying. it was hilarious
Honestly.. this is just retarded. I don’t even think it belongs on the front page. No offense greg, but some of these things are just plain lame and don’t deserve to be here.
Oh come on. Not every app that people make has to be beneficial to the whole community. That is the point of homebrew after all isn’t it? I think this is a good prank.
Thanks for that fret669 :-)
with the fret on this one
This is hilarious. Especially to those like me that is “that guy” and all your “friends” go to you to have their PSP’s hacked. :D
I think this bricked my psp!
lol… sorry. couldn’t help myself. ;)
I lol’d xD
playboy ran his “tool” on another person’s “unit”? that doesn’t sound healthy. sorry, but i could not resist.
hahahahaha
That was funny xD lol
I think homebrew needs a good laugh every now and then. Bravo playboy!
Thanks guys for those wonderful comments :)
“Flashing flash files” <- HAHA.
You could add to the app that it wants the user to put the actual firmware update PBP’s in the root of the memstick and have some memorystick flashing going on (for example just read some chunks of the PBPs in).
Oooh, never thought of that MK2k.I’ll try to do that, and i’ll seek your help if i encounter any problems. Thanks man :)
it bricked my psp… what shud i do lol
not bad ill save this 1 for a rainy day :P
is is fixable brik tho right? it dosent mess with the ipls dose it?
Black-Raven, it does NOTHING to your flash 0. It looks like it’s bricked, but it’s not. :)
ah ok i thought it was a real brick ^^ thanks
How do you install
why does it shuts my psp down after pressing the override command?(down+triangle)
hironistelrooy, read the readme.txt
Mayhem, i’m not sure why that’s happening to you. It’s supposed to boot the psp back to the XMB. Works fine for me. I’ll look into this matter mate :)
The funny thing is… after you’ve all had a laugh about how its fake and you got your friend good… then it really bricks your psp.
