ISO Change v1.2 — for multi-UMD games *Updated*

greg | October 31, 2008

Update: takka has released an update to ISO Change that seemingly corrects an issue relating to the legacy OE isofs no-UMD driver. Grab ISO Change version 1.2 below.

I don’t actually have any games utilizing multiple UMDs… But it’ll no doubt serve a purpose for those who do… Introducing takka’s ISO Change — switch between emulated UMDs (or ISOs) without any complications.

How to use:

  • When asked to switch the UMD
  • Press ♪ (Note) + L TRIGGER + R TRIGGER to enter the menu
  • Press left, right (or left trigger, right trigger) to select the disc
  • X: Cancel, O: Run selected disc

ISO Change v1.1 changes:

  • Menu implementation
  • Support for more than 2 disc UMD games
  • Thread control MacroFire (by pen @ ClassG)

Source code will be available soon. Happy Halloween!

it is used for link disc feature in DJ Max Portable series. To unlock some cool staff) there you have to swap UMD’s, but now it is possible wiyj ISO’s.

haha, I think you are on the wrong site if you think this will lead to San Andreas stories. I don’t see why you would think a thing that sony hates would cause SA Stories to be released.

Can anyone tell me how do I exactly use this?

I copied the game.txt and the iso_change.orx into my memory stick root folder “Seplugin”.

I’m testing on this DJ Max Clazziquai game, so when it asked me to switch UMD, I pressed the note + L + R buttons, the menu appeared but there is only one iso is showing which is the current iso that I’m running, there is no others iso showing up despite I put the DJ Max portable 2 iso in the iso folder..

Any help would be appreciated..Thanks.

Okay I just realized that I have to change the ISO name into 1.iso and 2.iso..

It appeared now but meh, I think the game freezes in the UMD switch screen -.-

Okay..I tried ejecting and re-inserting the memory stick at the umd switch screen and somehow it works, but only telling me some stuff has been unlocked and then..
It tells me :
“Cannot Link this UMD
Continue after inserting the Memory stick”

What’s that suppose to mean? I tried eject and insert the memory stick again but same things happens over and over again :(

No. But with modern CFWs you can do it within POPS no problem.

Confirmed working on DJ Max Link Disk, but might not have worked for some due to lack of instruction.

To those linking DJ Max 1 to DJ Max 2 follow these steps (im running on CFW 5.00 CFW, BTW):
1. Install ISO Change 1.2 to sepluglins (auto-enabled upon copying but if not, enable in recovery menu)
2. Copy both DJ Max 1 and 2 ISOs in your PSP and rename them as 1.ISO and 2.ISO
3. In XMB, go to “M33 VSH MENU” by pressing Select and change “UMD ISO MODE” to OE isofs
4. Run DJ Max 2
5. Go to Link Disk
6. When asking for DJ Max 1 UMD press “Note + L + R” then choose 1.ISO
7. Accept and your in Link Disc!

Hey fauxxxii, I did everything you said but I seem to still have the problem where the pop-up menu only shows one iso file (the one I’m playing on), any help would be appreciated.
