What Sony should do is to restrict the access to all the online functions to people using CFW (like me).

I’m not saying that I would be happy, but it is what I would do if I was Sony.

Does it really allow PSP-2000 output to interlaced TVs and Fullscreen? or is it only for PSP-3000?

WOW. The theme looks GREAT! The new XMB wave is awesome. PSN is added to the menu. And the USB feature is very satisfactory.

Beware linking your ps3 id to the psp when dax does make a cfw for this fw because for if they find out your using cfw they can ban your main ps3 id or even worse ban your console so beware i would make an new psn id just for the psp and never link the ps3 with that little hand held!!!!

Wait a second…THE PSP 3000 IS OUT RIGHT???? And it should have firmware 5.00 on it….Not that I’m buying it but if it was hacked I’d buy it ;)

if you using a cfw on your PSP with PS3 connection,you can use USB FAKE REGION,it’s a homebrew,and a good one.give it a try.
the psp-3000 has 4.20 on it,but this is equal to zero,because not the firmware is important.the TA88v3 is not hackeball,not the firmware.

Dark Alex has released the PSP Firmware 5.00 PSRAR Dumper.
I have no real idea what this does, but its progress.

The 5.00 PSAR dumper won’t touch PSP-3000 related files though, due to the IPL for the 3000 not being hacked yet.

I dare say we might be waiting a little while for a new M33, until then just have a play with the 5.00 OFW and if need be use Pandora to bo back to M33 when the time comes.

I honestly think this update is nothing major and suggest this:

1) The USB function is something barely used

2) The additional acess to the store can be done through a USBVERSIONFAKE prx 5.0

3) Most of all 4.01 CTF’s, Homebrews, ISO’s, etc…have 2 be updated

I use usb all the time. I was using red squirrels vsh menu which enables auto usb like in the new 3000. Its kinda cool. Can’t wait for 5.00m33

im not gonna lie im excited at the thought of a 5.00m33 i already know thats gonna be f’in crazy but will dark alex do it we honestly need to start paying him so many people took his work and are chargin sukcers and making money off of it if 5.00m33 does come out ill make a donation for it just to make sure that he stays in the homebrew scene long live DAX

I updated just to try that part, because FuSa sucks, and I must be one of the only people left with a normal TV.

I updated, connected my composite cable, set the psp output to 4:3 and interlace, and I got the same message that it gives you in any slim firmware. Popped in a UMD, and it said that it can not display interlace picture blah blah blah.

Sucks… and I’m mad…

Damn, I was getting really exited because of the interlace comment. As slackbabbath, I also thought it would take off that stupid format restriction from the 2000, cuz I may also be one of the few with a normal tv.

yea my thoughts are DAX wont relese 5.0m33 untill he can get it on the 3000 which is gonna be hard cuz it has that new motherboard ta-090 i beleive so it will probably take a while and y did sony just jump right to 5.0 i mean what was the last one 4.01 no it was 4.05 and they just jumped and still no divX i really dont care though cuz i dont know to many divX files so im exited and i want to check out that redesigned originol theme u know without havin to pandora back i love my phat the motherboard is so simple
