PSP-3000 Sporting the TA-090 Motherboard

According to Alek the new PSP-3000, well at least the first round of manufactured units, is actually equipped with a TA-090 motherboard — not the TA-88v3 you’ve read about. So if you have recently purchased the PSP-3000, there is still hope for complete hackability.
But wait a minute… Doesn’t the PSP-2000 (Slim) use the TA-090 motherboard? Yes, it does. Unfortunately Sony has introduced new protection for the PSP-3000. The good news: developers are taking a crack at it. We’ll keep you posted.

i thought the ta-088v3 was unhackable why would the ta-090 be hackable.

Hmm true. The new motherboard for PSP Slim must prove hackable before this one can be.
the ta-90 on the slim is hackable. Then sony revised a prevoius mobo and made it unhackable, ta-88v3, and shipped that with all the newer slims.
Hmm, strange. It has the same motherboard, yet there is new hardware installed. Is the microphone connected to some sort of connection adapter?

Would it be possible to place a slim’s motherboard into a 3000 then? I would think the mic connector would be different or something, maybe even the LCD not work with the slim mobo..
I need to get me one of these 3000 and do some tests. :P

don’t bother with this guys its a huge hunk of junk just stick with your phat or slim or buy a DSI which is much better then this crap of a psp3000.
The DSI isn’t all that great of an improvement when compared to Sony’s “improvements” in handhelds. Though, the DSI may be hacked easier with the addition of the card slot..
DSI is nice, but there isn’t enough good games (besides the normal Nintendo fodder). At least with a PSP it can be hacked to support PSX games (and other roms on emulators). Also I’m not sure about that camera, seems like it could be chintzy. But If they nail that I might buy one, no backward support will definitely piss me off though.

Just got a 3000 my first psp i am lovin it…..rachet and clank size matters woot just as good as the ps2 rachets, awesome really. I can’t wait till they hack it modders are working on it everywehre not to mention dark alex oh boyyyyyy it’s a comin soon it is hacked 3000 then i’ll get a 4gb memory card and download free stuff. I know there’s a way cause a vid was posted on oyutube how to hack but youutbe removed it almost emmidiatly sony is making them
