PSP Firmware 5.00 Coming Soon

To coincide with the soon to be released PS3 firmware update; Sony is also readying PSP firmware version 5.00. According to Eric Lempel, this update will permit direct access to the PlayStation Network –
In this version, you’ll notice the addition of the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB. You can now sign up for PlayStation Network, manage your account and access PlayStation Store directly from your PSP — meaning you can download games directly to your PSP while connected via Wi-Fi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they just blocked the ipl except for their signature via the firmware. Cheap bastards. In my opinion I think sony should start up a homebrew section. So people can show what they’re capable of. But no, we have to keep playing this stupid game. When will sony learn? They keep coming out with stuff that we as the hacking community created first. (Cough)Internet Radio, RSS, etc.)

Update v5.00 adds a sleep timer option that can be used while you are playing music on your PSP. In addition, we’ve added a full screen keyboard option for text entry and have redesigned the background of the XMB. You’ll be able to find all of the information on Firmware v5.00 here once it goes live

PlayStation Network isn’t importent, you can download full games faster. The other shit like the themes are fun. I can’t wait for the CFW 5 !!!M33 Rules!!!
I don’t understand about this, if i have version 5, i wont be able to play any ISO games, how do i settle this?
I need to downgrade it to 1.50 and then upgrade to 5.00M33?
or i can just upgrade it to 5.00M33?
