Rain’s IPL Injection Test
greg | October 10, 2008
One simple [Windows] executable to rule them all… Rain’s IPL Injection Test. It’s straight to the point, it displays runtime output should your experience be a successful or unsuccessful one, and it is indeed simple.

Available IPLs:
- Time Machine IPL
- Boosters Multi IPL
- z3ros0ul Single IPL (Sleep Fix)
- z3ros0ul Multi IPL (Sleep Fix)
- Classic Pandora IPL
Release Notes:
- Vista UAC Users will be greeted by a UAC Dialog, select Allow. This is the same as if you right clicked and ran as admin and admin privileges are needed for IPL Injection.
- This apps code is based of Rain’s MMS Maker 1.3 and in some parts 1.0 to allow faster writing. The application has been tested on 32 bit versions of Vista, XP, and 2000 on both Phat and Slim PSP’s with 2 and 8 GB SanDisk Memory Sticks.
- This app is released free of charge, AS-IS and without warranty. It uses the same methods found in other windows based MMS maker’s and command line methods. In the rare occasion of a windows format error due to block 0 format the stick with the PSP to resolve the problem.

First, yay to pascal!
Looks cool
(yay second)
I Dont Know…BUT ITS COOL
nice lol
Can anyone else confirm that MS Duo Pro ‘mark 2′ sticks don’t support pandora’s normal boot loader ipl? I haven’t tried to make a mag memstick with the ‘mark 2′but if anyone knows if it can be done please also confirm this, cheers..
p.s – cudos on the release!
Ive heard of issues with mkII’s and then some people say they work.
Beauty of this app is that it makes it slightly simpler for people who dont want to use the command line to test different ipls and format methods till they find something that works.
Warning though after flashing my memory stick about 80 different times all of a sudden windows wouldn’t format it, formatting it with a 1.50 Phat did the trick to fix it though. Using a PSP at all would most likley fix the issue but 1.50 has raw access to the MS and can fix more problems then newer firmwares.
The app will tell u wether or not msinst reported back as successful but not necesarilly if the stick is gonna work in the psp 100% for sure. Another dev TheivingSix is looking into the ipl installation process and some of his work may benefit the diagnostic tool later on.
I have on other release planned and i will give T6 my source though he could write this app in all of 10 minutes by himself.
i have a sony 16gb mark2 mem stick with dcv7. works like a charm
??? wat does this do ???
I have a 8gb mark2 with DC7 using the time machines IPL, and it works just fine!
can this fixes faulty ms duo 4gb? sometimes my psp says “the memory could not be read. go to system settings and format the memory stick?”
which IPL do i use if i want to download games onto my memory stick?
