Hold+ v2.71 — Battery Power Saver Plug-in *Updated*
greg | September 20, 2008
Hold+ v2.71 Update:
- Fixed a bug where after the first time you resume from suspend the Analog Up + Hold Switch Off would not work.
Torch has a real simple PRX plug-in to squeeze some extra minutes, perhaps even hours, of game play from your PlayStation Portable. If it’s already hacked — you may as well download, install, and enable Hold+. There’s no harm in that. And if your PSP isn’t hacked — what’s the hold up?
Hold+ v2.64 to v2.7 changes:
- LEDs are turned off when in Hold mode or Display Off mode, but they are flashed every 30 seconds so that the PSP is not mistaken to be powered off.
- Fixed a bug introduced in v2.64 where the PSP wouldn’t automatically suspend after being idle while in Hold mode or Display Off mode.
- While in Display Off mode, you can now also turn on the display by pushing the power switch to the suspend position.
- Pressing the Screen button also works but I recommend using the power switch instead, because when you press the Screen button, the firmware sets its internal brightness variable to the next level, even though the screen is functioning at the original brightness. Thus if you leave it idle after turning on the display using the Screen button, and the screen dims due to the PSP being idle, when you press a button it will jump to the next brightness level.

^USELESS POST
great app. would it matter if the LED’s were off since they take little power anyway?
seriesly, will any 1 actually waste time downloading this?
what are you talking about. this is really useful
ye this is one of the best plugins out there
ya it saves a lot man dun look down on it
I downloaded it TWICE (and not for the reason u would think :D)
excellent app great work
this is the most useful plugin on my PSP!!! my battery dosen’t last long, and this helps alot, and chris, I waste my time downloadng this with every release, so yes, people DO
yeah seriesly. i’ve been waiting for a new app caled learn2spell. Chris, troll somewhere else since you suck at trolling anyway.
seriously*
called*
take care.
This app is the best. I feel asleep with my PSP next to me.. Listening to music and it was from 2 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon.. It was a long night! My battery was 100%… I wake up and find the battery at 72%.. The songs were on shuffle.. No joke.. I was impressed.
??? when i turn of the screen and play music what is the difference compared to this? I usually turn the psp speed all the way down and turn off visualizers and put it on hold with the screen off does this make it last even longer?? If so sweet
also I heard somewhere that even though the back light is off the screen is still on using power is this true?
How do I make an entry in VSH.txt.????
yea this is a must have if you use your psp as a primary mp3 player. adds hours of battery life.
I think this app is a must have if you own a PSP.
I always had trouble trying NOT to suspend the PSP when turning off Hold mode (pushing the switch too far up). This app solved the problem. Hence, this functionality alone is worthy enough to have this app on your psp.
ye it said something about that in the first release but no the screen gets turned completely off with this it rocks!!!! a must have!
apparently. with this plugin all you have to do is to put on hold and itll do everything itself. and this turns off the lcd and backlight completely
some one tell me is the xmb’s speed turned ALL the way down? to 20?
a really well made app, maybe chris doesnt know how to use it.haha
this isn’t helping me….. 1 hr of music took the battery down 10%
I see that is a pain in the crack for you. Sorry to hear that pal. Everyone else seems to be happy with this plugin’s performance. Where could be a problem?
is there any application that allows psp to automatically turn off in a certain time?
Cool, I want to modify a homebrew, that it turns off the PSP’s screen? How is the function called? I can’t find the documentation.
