RemoteJoyLite v0.16 Released
greg | September 19, 2008
Japanese coder, who seemingly goes by the name Akind, has released an update to RemoteJoyLite.
Newcomers — connect your PSP via USB and copy this to your memory stick, enable under the recovery console, then kick back and enjoy “TV out”-like functionality on your PC monitor. You may require the ‘”PSP” Type B’ USB driver for Windows. Download that with Custom Firmware Extender.
Old-timers — you know what to do… Exit the RemoteJoyLite window, keep your USB connected, update, and re-enjoy it all over again.
RemoteJoyLite v0.16 [translated] change log:
“the active suppression when the PC’s screen saver. PSP screen is OFF. USB connection is back ON PSP screen. Input pad was delayed 1 frame has been fixed. Some games on display did not have been fixed. Full-time position and screen size can be specified. POV,AXIS,ROT POV, AXIS, ROT be assigned to the button. Some PSP only able to transfer region. Some PC diagonally dot slippage occurred had been fixed.”
…whatever the case, it’s no doubt improved.

So, I still use the old RemoteJoy to this day, and Im on 3.71 at the moment, and I cant get the lite version to work for some odd reason. The old one (That I disabled while using this one) works fine though.

Hope to talk tou you boys!

I WANT TO CHANGE TO 3.90 HOW TO?PLEASE
you can use despertar del cementerio that way you can do it
the same way you got 4.01 you can try to get 3.90m33
I figured it out. The old remotejoy.prx file is in the Custom Firmware Extender in the seplugins/cfe directory. You need to get the updated RemoteJoyLite.prx rename it to remotejoy.prx and copy over the old file in seplugins/cfe directory. This is the part that I got stuck on a little bit, but now it is working!!
whow! yea, you’re right. thanks dude!
now i can save 2 spaces in my plugins list.
xD
damn that sux i,i have a mac…
Wow. You Suck.
Im sure this isnt the first problem youve run into with a Mac.
Way to be a sucker for those gay ass commercials.
haha thats funny. Don’t be a sucker, Macs are only good for video/graphics editing.. if you don’t do that sort of stuff.. don’t be a fool and think owning a Mac is cool.lol
p.s: I am not taking Windows side either.. they suck too but a least you don’t run into problems like this.
Can this one play PSX and homebrew?
Yes it does, and igotten it to work under 4.Whateverm33-2 from dax the latest
Can this one play homebrew and/or PSX games?
hope that will play pops in the future, still is a briliant app. thanks alot akint, great work!

are you sure you just havnt tried clicking on maximise on top-right of window?
or just press alt-enter
Good app, pity that starting a game disables it, as that’s what I really wanted it to display.
If someone could make the PC display work when playing a game, I’d be their’s forever (or in their debt, or whatever).
This is possible, and it works, at first it seems that it locks up, but then I got it to work, it usualy when loading the game, StarWars the Force blah blah, it freezes, then i just restart the psp and load again and it works, it usualy depends how many plugins you have loading, i only have 2.. RemoteJoy and CWcheat fuk yea
Hey, actually this works on games. All you need to do is to add the entry into your GAME.txt and it will work once you enable it. I’ve added it on my VSH.txt as well as GAME.txt and enabled both of them in my recovery.
The viewer will work on the XMB menu, as well as ISO and homebrew games. I’ve done it on my Bleach HTS 5 and it works very well with no significant lag at all. Although, one thing, it doesn’t work on GAME150 homebrews, it will just hang and shut down your PSP if you attempt to run it on a 1.50 homebrew.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a noob-friendly, all-in-one package.. here:
http://www.black-chronos.net/downloads/RemoteJoyLite_v0.16_Zephyrus.rar
Yes, it does work on a game. Just add it to your game.txt entry. It works for me as I added it to my vsh.txt and game.txt and enabled them both. I get the screen when I’m on XMB, and when I load an ISO game like Bleach HTS 5, it goes on to activate the plugin in game.txt and shows the game screen with no significant lag. Although, I think certain games are not compatible as I have not tried them all.
What doesn’t work, are 1.50 homebrews. I’ve added the entry into GAME150.txt and tried out my 1.50 homebrew, but they just error and shut down my PSP.
Anyway for people who wants a noob-friendly, all-in-one package.. you can download it here:

I havent been able to get this to work yet.
I have 4.01 m33 and I’ve gotten it set up, but when i connect the usb windows comes up with the “new hardware found” window, but it refuses to install the drivers for it, even though I have them installed windows just keeps on saying “nope those are not the right drivers” or “does not contain information about your device” or whatever bs basically. Im on windows xp 32bit. also have xp 64bit on another pc but i get the same bs using the 64bit drivers on there, any help would be apreciated.
Could someone just make an “All in one” installer?
I mean, I have no clue where to put the files, or what to do at all…
Im on 3.71 FW
You can download the all-in-one rar package I’ve uploaded. The link is a few comments up.
Why so old CF? 4.x is the newest.
btw. Add the follow lines in pop.txt to enable the plugin
flash0:/kd/usb.prx
ms0:/seplugins/remotejoylite.prx

how do you get it to record on Windows? I finally got it to show on my PC, but I cant capture. I tried pressing “C” and nothing happened
You can’t record any videos, but you can screenshot by pressing F10 while viewing through the viewer. It will save the screens to a folder named “Capture” in the same directory as your RemoteJoyLite.exe.
not correct – press esc. under Capture you can activate video recording.
Not true… i you CAN record videos using F12, and you can specify codecs, ect by pressing Esc. It took me a while to find that out, but I did. I dont think you can record audio tho.
Yup indeed. Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Yeah you can go into settings and under the “Capture” tab you have to check on the AVI checkbox and set up the FPS and codec. There’s another WAV options setting, but it doesn’t do anything at the moment.
And under the “Key” tab, check the checkbox at the bottom right corner and you can control your PSP through the viewer/client using your keyboard.
Under the “PSP” tab, you can also check on the “PSP~~~OFF” checkbox to turn off the PSP screen while viewing it through the viewer/client.
I’ve included all these information in my package:
http://www.black-chronos.net/downloads/RemoteJoyLite_v0.16_Zephyrus.rar
RemoteJoyLite.exe and RemoteJoyLite_en.exe are the same programm. _en is the english version, so you start this program, not the japanise remotejoylite.exe.
This is awesome, great work!! I’m going to play my PSP again!! :D
Ok i got everything working i can see my menu ect but when i go to run homebrew or a iso it disconnects from my computer. so i dont get any iso or hombrew video. anyone have any ideas? and both game and vsh is enable with the prx…
YOu have to also add to Game.txt and Brew.txt whatever that part is,where the prx is located.
alright this is frustrating, I’m using 4.01 m33-2, I put all of the plugin is the seplugins forlder and enabled all of them in the recovery menu. I connect via usb and all I get is the usual how do you want to open it window were you can slect a player of just the folder option. No “new hardware found” prompt.
I installed the USB driver with a different installer alltogether (found here: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=20983) because this method has me pulling out my hairs. now that I have the driver installed I try to open the remotjoy.exe or the remotejoy_en.exe and they both give me a “direct 3d error 2″ prompt.
Can anyone help me out? I don’t really know what I’m doing wrong here.
Doesn’t work.
I’m on custom firmware 3.71 M33-3
I downloaded zephyrus’s package.
Copy RemoteJoyLite.prx to seplugins folder.
Create a GAME.TXT and VSH.TXT
Add the ms0:/seplugins/RemoteJoyLite.prx line to both TXT files.
Go to recovery mode and activate both plugins.
Startup gives a black screen both on pc and psp.
When just the game plugin is activated the psp starts but goes black when i start a game.
I installed the PSP Type B driver with the Add new hardware option in windows xp , then selected LibUsb-win32 devices , then PSP Type B and point it to the usb driver in the package.
Am i on the wrong firmware or what?
The prx is not compatible with 3.71 M33. Upgrade to 4.01 M33-2 and you’ll be good.
Yes , thanks a lot Zephyrus.
I installed 4.01 M33 and it works now.
Going to check out some games now.
uhm… I truly dunno what is this kind of tv-out. Does it mean that i can play games on my pc-screen? Or only the XMB works?
I’ll read after it but it sounds kinda unbelivable…
Yes playing ISO games and homebrew (only 3.xx kernel onwards) works. You can setup the viewer/client on your PC to use the PC keyboard for controlling the PSP, or you can switch off the PSP screen while it is doing the video output, while using it as a “usb controller”.
For me it only worked with the remotejoygui that is included with the custom firmware extender, but it does not responded to the lite version.
Also i tried it with tekken, but after i enable remotejoy, it freezes, and shuts the psp down. Now what?
so it doesn’t work for pops right? i can get it to work for psp games, but crashes when i try to load saved data. (im on 4.01M33-2)
Seems the saving problem its only in some games, im not playing disgaea and its working fine =), love my 23″ pc screen now =D
I got it working. I just needed to update my video card driver. Thanks!
Anyone having problems getting to gameplay in FlatOut (on psp fat)?
i found a solution (if it doesn’t fail for some..)
in Remotejoy, press Esc, “PSP” tab, set Transfer Sys Address to 0×087200.
it hasn’t crashed on my so far. i’ve been using this setting for about 10 minutes now. hope this helps ^_-
Hmm, When it comes up asking for the driver in windows vista ultimate 64 i pointed it to the usb_driver_x64, but vista said it wont install any driver that isnt signed by microsoft or something.. damn.. I had clicked accept driver anyway, but after a while it just flat out refused, oh well.. looked fun anyway :)
Is there a usb driver for xp 64bit, or are those the same ones used for vista 64bit? I’m still having windows xp 32bit on my other computer refuse to install the proper drivers for the psp usb for this even though i have installed said drivers. I’ve done everything step by step a few times with no results.
I get it to work sometimes. People with a black screen issue should try doing a hard reboot on your PSP and then rerun the client on your PC. It works for me after I do that. I occasionally get some sort of internal error when I select “usb” to update stuff on my PSP with this plugin enabled. Have other people gotten that? I’m on 4.01 M33-2.
Also, I’d like to know how this compares to PSP’s with TV out? I notice that there is a bit of lag time between PSP and on screen client video. It’s not terrible, but it about makes games that require a keen sense of timing such as Hot Shots Golf to be about unplayable unless you make your shot watching the PSP and then watch the large screen once the shot has been taken. I can imagine fighters are just as bad, but things like RPG’s would be fine.
What I’m wondering is whether the 2000 or 3000 series using TV out suffer the same lag time? I’d really like to know because TV out was -one- of a couple of the primary reasons I was thinking of buying another newer PSP eventually to compliment my Phat PSP. Can anybody with a 2000+ psp with exp in TV out gaming tell me if the lag is the same? Right now I’m assuming it’s because it’s using the USB out that is the issue with this app and lag. Send me an email if you know to darkwolve(@)gmail.com — you know — remove the ()… Thanks!
Bah, that address is supposed to be:
darkwolven(@)gmail.com with the () taken out.
TV Out on a Slim PSP works pretty well (Using the actual cables from sony) but this application works just as fine, yes there is a bit of delay but I’m sure that will be solved with some updates (I hope)
I love this application!
Thanks Akind and hackers who make psp a better handheld system!
Does it work on psp Phat?
Does it work on psp Phat version 4.01 m33?
omg its meant for the phat. (`)_(`)
