Key Tone/Click Sound Replacer – WAV to VAG Converter *Updated*
greg | August 26, 2008
Update: highboy has released version 3.0 of his WAV to VAG converter. And if you’re uncertain how to flash the resulting “system_plugin.rco” file; I recommend using Xplora or PSP Filer. Copy “system_plugin.rco” to “flash0:/vsh/resource.”
Personally, I disable key tones or click sounds, whatever you want to call them. In any event, maybe you don’t, and just maybe you want to customize these chimes with extreme ease. Do that with highboy’s WAV to VAG (and vice versa) converter.

| RCO Key Tone Legend | |
| NAME | TRIGGER |
| Cursor | move the d-pad around the XMB |
| Decide | when you “decide” on something with X |
| Cancel | return to the main menu from a sub menu |
| Category | ??? |
| Option | press X when the sub menu goes a level deeper |
| Error | when the system returns an error |
| System ok | when leaving the on-screen keyboard |
| System ng | ??? |
Remember: always create a backup of the original RCO file(s) first.

i always want it something like this.
haha, VAG. who came up with that?
but i find the key tone annoying on any device.
this proggy is great had it for 1day and a half already
nice work Highboy
Yes finally I can change my key tone I’ve been waiting for this for so long cuase I always hate the key tones and I been tring to program custom firmwares but it’s just to hard so now finally I’ll be able to change it.
Cool……i’m gonna make some VAG !
Hey guys just so ya know , this app also creates and edits “system_plugin.rco” u can extract or inject wav or vag files from the “system_plugin.rco” !
In other words it does lot more than create a wav or vag files it does rco also !
GOOD JOB Highboy !!!!
ok i have the program but theres no info on where or how to change the sounds on the psp
I thought it was self explanatory but it will make a system_plugin.rco or edit a old one that you flash to flash0:/vsh/resource and then you have new click sounds
I am going to release V 3 right away and it will have a few more improvments
Thanks alot bro
Great Work
Lol, I changed the key tones to tourretes guy yelling Bob Saget, thanks :P
I think what sillyzombie meant is that this thing does not include any instructions on -how- to get it to work on the PSP. Once you make an .rco file… then what? I myself am having the same problem.
after that you go to
your psp’s Flash0 folder
then vsh>resource and copy and paste.just make a back up of the original
just in case if you dont kno how to get into flash0. turn off your psp by holding the power button for 3 seconds. turn it on while holding down r. go to configurations. then keep hitting XMB USB device with X until you get Flash 0.
orrr while in xmb mode. press select then highlight USB device and pres right or left on the D-pad until you get Flash0. then just turn on usb mode
When u have made or finished editing your “system_plugin.rco” u need to plug in a usb cable and attach to a pc, go into recovery mode via holding the “R” trigger and the “POWER” switch of ur psp !
PLEASE NOTE
BACK UP AND SAVE THE FLASH0 FOLDER , JUST IN CASE SHIT !
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE , YOU SHOULD GO TO
THE FORUMS AND READ UP FOR MORE INFO BTW!
While your in recovery mode go to “ADVANCED” then “FLASH0″ , a bunch of folders should pop up go into “VSH” folder then the “RESOURCE” folder !
There u will find the original or current “system_plugin.rco” thats what u will be replacing with the new file u made in Highboy’s app!
here are a few links with some flashing insight n help but do some research plzz go in the help forums
http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=109035
http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=61385
look around u can find more flas info !
ODV out!
surely bob saget will get annoying after a while
@ Highboy
ive already used this and it works great, but just as a thought. you think you can include a readme in your next release for those less psp savy (noobs) people. if not then thats fine, i know it takes time to write one up especially after going through all that code. i was just looking out for the noobs out there. got to admit we had our turn in that spotlight as well
and yes ive seen the readme button on the app but some people dont see buttons well, lol
@highboy
i actually went and copy and pasted the readme in a txt file for you and put it up on EP for you if thats ok…
i made this quick video, hope it helps
http://highboy.110mb.com/wavtovag.html
the app is at v #.0 now so you should update also
http://highboy.110mb.com/Files/Wav%20to%20Vag%20V%203.0.zip
Your desktop is NSFW.
it wont run on my pc what a bitch, some file called 1234 is denied any ideas?
the 1234.txt file is used to check the headers of the wav files so first if your main drive is C then browse to C:\Program Files\Wav to Vag\Files and make sure the 1234.txt is in there.if it is please give the exact error and ill get you going.
well i checked to see if the file is there and it is, but when i drag and drop a wav file in the box it says “access to the path ‘C:\Program Files\Wav to Vag\files\1234.txt’ is denied.”
its cool bra i found out its a vista thing user account control was turned on
