PSP Hardware Alarm Suite II v2.6 bld 1648

greg | August 22, 2008

Wake up in time for that tasty McDonald’s Sausage n’ Egger using Mr. 305’s PSP Hardware Alarm Suite. I encourage you read over the documentation for usage; namely to waken oneself while your PSP is suspended or in a powered-off state. And the rest; well, the feature list speaks for itself –

PSP Hardware Alarm Suite Screenshot

PSP Hardware Alarm Suite features:

  • Internet Time Synchronization with NIST time servers
  • Currently the only Alarm Application compatible with ALL PSP’s including PSP SLIM.
  • Sleep Mode Alarm with support for custom MP3 audio file.
  • Power Off Mode Alarm that plays sound in XMB with support for custom sound; consumes virtually 0% POWER
  • 12/24 Hr time formats
  • Fully compliant with DAY TIME PROTOCOL (RFC-867) with support for Daylight / Standard
  • More accurate time keeping than XMB’s DNAS service, with network delay compensation; automatically adjusts for network delays of transmission from server.
  • Displays hours and minutes remaining as the alarm time is being set; updated in real time.
  • Alarm can be set up to 23 hours 59 minutes in future.
  • Alarm accurate to the second.
  • Streamlined, extremely easy to use interface.
  • Shows seconds & milliseconds;
  • Aligned time display (constant length).
  • Checks to make sure if an alarm was already set last time, if so, sets the alarm to that time. Reads time from ms0:/seplugins/HAPoweroffSupport.305 if it exists.

Don’t forget the delicious hash brown too.

Nice looking icon, and alarm. But maybe someone can help me here. I got the alarm and it works, but exactly what is the seplugin for? The readme says: “Without this, Alarm will not play once unit wakes up from power off mode.”

But it’s only supposed to work in sleep or suspend mode. So what am I missing here?

Also, a semi-noob question: I would just install it anyway and see if the plugin is useful, but I already have a “vsh.txt” in the folder for another plugin I use. Would I have to delete the other one or can I combine the two?

Finally, unless I’m missing something, it seems to lack one VERY important feature, something that all alarm clocks have, and without which it is almost useless: a sleep button. Currently, once the alarm goes off, the only way to stop it is to go through the menu and exit (the home button doesn’t even work).

It’s just a text file, open them up and copy/paste the lines into the other.

For Alarm to stop, Simply press Circle Button.

Thanks – that does works now. But for some wierd reason the first time I tried it, I pressed every single button (several times) and the alarm still wouldn’t go off.

Hey cool feature – I was just wondering if there is any way to make the alarm volume automatically max on wake up, because I listen to stuff quietly when i go to sleep, and then it’s not loud enough to wake me up..

Never mind, I got the link in your thread. Thanks for your hard work. Just a couple of weeks ago I was picking out from the different alarm apps but couldn’t find a decent one and they all seemed to lack the wake from suspend/sleep mode. Cheers bud.

Has anyone experienced screen image problems with this program. My PSP has complete sound and function but I can’t get an image on the screen. It’s just black and sometimes white. It happened a few days after installing this program. Any ideas on how I can correct this? Cheers.

How do I get this to work on a psp with 1.50 firmware or an even better question, what is the current fireware now and how do I upgrade to it from 1.50 to that because I barely use homebrew anymore and I just recently found my fat psp and want to play the new monster hunter! Thanks to anyone who is able to help!
