Two years ago Dark_AleX entered the scene with DAX Dumper… An app likely to cause some controversy even though backing up legitimately owned UMDs to your memory stick is preferred amongst many — faster load times, ease of portability, the list goes on… So it’s arguable — right or wrong — it’s all in how you use it. PhonicUK keeps the fire burning with UMDumper v0.3.0D.
To honour PhonicUK’s request, we won’t be distributing/hosting UMDumper. Instead, follow the more link for additional details (features, changes) and the download.

Running 4.01 M33-2 on a Slim TA-088v1
I guess this wont dump UMD Movies
The site for this software says it does not work YET for Movie or music UMDs
however you can dump UMD movies onto PC with M33 CFW. Just use the VSH menu, set USB mode to UMD then connect to PC and activate USB on PSP. Just copy and paste UMD in windows………
which is how i rip ALL mu UMD™s sed to ues fastloader, but VSH menu is easier.
I dump my UMDs straight to my PC also, and I did dump a UMD Movie once, but i figured out all UMDs are in .ISO format? So what are you supposed to do with an ISO movie on your computer? is there an EASY to convert these dumped UMD movie ISOs into .AVI ??
if you want u can mount the iso. just put the iso in x:iso/video then go to the vsh menu in the xmb and make sure you have any umd in the psp and scroll down to video mount and press left or right and select any video iso you have. it will pop up under video like u have the disc in the drive

it dumps (well older versions did) all UMD discs GAME/VIDEO
I’ve tried Sin City and Spider-man 2 UMD Movies with no luck.
Maybe I am doing something wrong? Missing a Step?

Odds are thats the game that’s currently inserted. Couldnt tell you for sure since I dont use this app. (Whats the point of it if you have M33? =P)
Have you never been in a situation where you have only your PSP with you and you come across a UMD based game that you would like to copy? I know that I have, especially when I go and visit my buddy that works in a local game store and I get to check out the games that can’t be sold until thier scheduled release date.

well since version 2 i have not got the mini game to run normally it flickers(flashes)…the rest works fine on game umd’s…funny if i delete the mp3 file the mini game runs better…
does this need 1.50 kernel?

you don’t need this if you have m33 cfw.
At least I think you don’t because can’t you just copy/paste in usb mode or use psp filer with any 1.5 kernel supported uh cfw.

Pretty interesting application. I backed up Ape Escape Academy with great success. Although I noticed on the mini-game that when I went to the next level, the last block that was hit disappeared. Would be neat to have a smoother mini-game experience, as well as colored blocks.
its back but its a little bit slow but i thing its because i was dumping it as CSO.
You can also use PSPFiler to rip all UMDs to the MS.

hey, I can’t dump coded arms, I have 3.90m33, it dumps the game succesfully, but, when I run the game that was dumped on the memory stick I get this error:(80020321) does anyone know whats causeing this, and how to fix it?? please E-mail me the answer because by this time tommorrw I won’t be able to find my comment

True, but what if you’re lacking 1.00GB+ of space and have no access to a computer? CSO compression, despite the longer wait, starts to look friendly during those circumstances.
Asskickulater if your still trying to figure out how to play the game on your memory stick either put a umd in the drive or change your umd mode to a no umd one in the recovery menu or via the vsh menu

This app rocks! I found that it’ll start black screen on my phat if you have a UMD in the drive at startup. Remove the UMD, then start the application… then put the UMD in. Happy ripping/backing up of your discs.

Its awesome. I shrunk so many games into my 8gb memory card I’ll never carry a UMD again.
hmm, if anyones wondering, the driver thats working the best for me is the sony NP 9660

I have tried to use it with a game and everything works just fine until i try to start the game.
The screen goes black and i can’t do anything, not even turning off the power.
I have to take out my battery to get it back to work, changing driver from M33 to Sony NP9660 makes no difference.
Somebody knows why this happens?
I have a slim with 4.01 M33-2 CFW on it, normaly i use PSPfiler to dump my UMD’s but wanted to try this one instead.
