Throw your Slim in the garbage, looks like the rumoured PSP-3000 has some truth behind it after all…
While most FCC details remain confidential, Engadget shares their investigative insight on what’s what — “…the FCC’s tests were all focused on the 2.4GHz spectrum for the PSP-3001’s stated use of 802.11b WiFi (nothing new there) — no GPS, no 802.11 Draft-n, no Bluetooth.”
Sony is likely to formalize an announcement soon; perhaps we’ll know more at that time. Stay tuned.

Sony should not focused on re-releasing newer revised version of PSP. Instead, they should focused on the a newer handheld say, PSP2? or something rather than making more revised version which is obviously running out of games well except in Japan. LOL. Well besides that thanks to the homebrew scene which is keeping it alive too. :)

Why are people complaining? If you have a Phat or Slim then there’s no need for you to buy another. Sony is most likely just releasing another version to protect from Pandora and it may not have anything else. If some other small feature is included, then it’s just something else to tempt people who don’t already own a PSP to finally go get one.
There aren’t any features in the Slim that are truly needed to buy one over the Phat and I’m pretty sure the 3000 will be the same.

I think the only difference in it will be they might of made it unhackable or think they did with this one. Maybe the new mobo had a thing Sony new about where a Pbattery could possibly work.
Maybe they only changed the flash to Rom so it would make hacking it or custom firmwares on it impossible

Although I do agree there could be better games and possibly an actual slim, nice looking HARD DRIVE attachment that wouldn’t add too much weight, it’s just annoying to swap mem sticks or connect to the computer constantly.

i would rather they leave the psp behind for a new handheld that ofcourse has backwards compatibility with psp 1 game umds,meaning the new games would only run on the new psp2 so to speak.
also i would expect ps1 support and new ps2 game support as standard,this coupled with a much faster cpu and new graphics chip capable of handling some very nice graphics and a new much larger umd idea or something simular would be tooo dam good.
i know sony prolly wont do any of that tho and it will just be another usless upgrade that makes the fat and slim more ugly and out of date looking.

First of all, I doubt that’s what the new PSP will look like (probably same size, though). It seems as though the drawing is just a reference for the FCC to show where to put stickers. I doubt Sony would want a drawing of the actual PSP-3000 out.
Also, this is NOT fake (unless the FCC lied). The FCC has the documents on their site. Unless someone hacked the FCC site, this is real.

Gah, I’m sick of people bitching. So what if the 3K model is a hardware revision, dont bitch about it, this shit is common place in the development of hardware, especially games consoles.
Sega Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, NES, PS1, PS2 and the PS3 have had different hardware variations in their lifetimes. I seriously lost count how many iterations there are of the Gameboy and its variants.
If it wasn’t for hardware variation, the SNES CD wouldn’t have been developed into the PS1, and then you would be playing the SPS (Super Portable Saturn) instead.
The electronics industry thrives on revisions of hardware, to cut down costs and make better use of the product. Lower costs mean development of even better ideas, and it creates a whirlwind of win. Unless you work for Sega.
even if none of the ideas i said or some of the good idea that others have said comes to life ppl will still buy the new p$p, over all $ony is trying, to bad we will not get one of the best idea in this new psp… Don DOn DOn!

how can i update my 5.0 psp 3001 to 5.5?..i already put the update data inside the UPDATE folder in the GAME folder in my PSP..but when ill select the update,it always says thay The game could not be started.(80020148)..but its only the update..not a game..cant run the update..sh!t..
