It’s sad, but true… (Newer?) Slim models utilizing the TA-088 motherboard render Despertar del Cementerio (DC), Pandora, and Time Machine useless — for the time being…
Custom/unsigned IPLs fail to load from the memory stick; that’s likely a result of the kernel 1.50 & 3.40 mix. With that said, we won’t see a new version of DC — Dark_AleX’s universal unbricker — until the revamped core and interface is finished. So in the meantime, be careful.

Not shocking whatsoever. But saying that, remember the old Mobo, which back then it was almost rendered unusable with Pandora, there will either be a fix, or a high demand for Fat’s and Old Slims :D.

Sonys’ code is like their digital signature. If we FORGE it, it’s like forging a signature on a cheque. Do it and the shit will fly.
your thinking of paper signatures. the fact is that a) you need to find the signature in the BINARY (not the source code) and copy every single little bit. sounds pretty difficult, even for D_A. Why do you think that people havent made CFW for say, Xbox 360. Because they sign the updates and even if one bit is touched. the whole file goes AWOL
That’s not how signatures work, there are two very large binary numbers (1024-4096 bits). One (private) number is used for signing data and sony alone has it, the other one (public) is used to check the signature from the first. They are set so large that you can’t calculato one from the other, but you can generate the pair from a common seed.
For short: You can’t find the private keys in the binary, they are not there.
Public keys are there, but they are useless unless you want to check for sony-signed code or to encrypt something for sony’eyes only…
Every stupid Sony PSP “mod” and “security update” was, is and will be cracked. It’s just a matter of time.

i love ma psp,but dont really see any need for updates from sony or hacks to the firmware …. everyone can do what they like with their psps with nearly the latest firmware to date,why the constant attack to sony and direct attack to games developers is a mystery seeing as little to no developers will produce software on a crossed out hacked handheld,yet dax and the rest continue ?
not done enough damage already and the psp had such a good chance of having games like morrowind and other pc crossover games like halflife.

How is PSP hacking dead? Just recently, you can emulate Mac OS, Linux and all versions of Windows up to 98 at a decent speed. That opens at least a few possibilities.

mac os and windows 98 were on my psp over 10 months ago.and the linux build aint worth running on psp seeing as the xbox 1 has problems running linux basic due to lack of memory.
im not saying anything bad about the psp,i love it and think its such an amazing device thanx to homebrew like psp radio and pspmaps and others but the fact you can drag an iso into the memory stick and play does the psp no favours.
i own 12 psp games after buying the games that i thought were worth buying after trying isos out then deleted the isos,thats fibe but not many others do this.
Actually, you’re quite wrong about the reasons why companies quit making games. Maybe you don’t release? but it is quite difficult to make a huge 3d game (such as god of war). With good fps, and keeping the battery life correct and making it worth awhile. If they stopped making games because people were downloading them.. then every game system would fail… You can download 360 and ps3 games. So your point is proven wrong. and at E3 sony shoed off some cool new games coming. So i wouldn’t call it “dead”

from everything i have ever read i feel like i am the only one with the pandora program that lets me choose 1.5 firmware and 3.71 firmware.. loading the 3.71 firmware bypasses this problem correct??

i did downgraded my psp ta-088 with hard moded pandora battery. i cant pandorized my battery with the mobo that i have. i am using s-110 battery for slim and modified it. i put a switch inside the battery to switch to normal or to pandora battery. it works fine without having any problem.

i used to take copied games for granted on the dreamcast,buying a new game for a fiver off the local dodgy seller but in the end the dc was killed by poor advertising,very poor copy protection and the fact it was sega that created it.
the psp is no different,dax has killed the psp make no mistake about it,he could have enabled homebrew without the iso loader and sony wouldnt have been half as pissed and wouldnt have made countless security updates,am i right or wrong ?
the psp IS dead,theres next to no new games getting released for it seeing as the same minute a game is released it is up on torrent sites the very next minute.
ask yourself,would you spend over a year creating a game for psp,at a high cost to your business only to have the game directly copied and on the internet the same day for free ???????? this is why theres are no games dedicated to the psp hardware,look at ff crisis core.

this might breathe a bit of life back into the psp hacking community. i remember when firmware was in the 2 region, i loved checking psp hacks to see if anything was posted about downgraders. for the past while, nothing major has been goin on, except custom firmwares.(not that im belittleing the work that goes into them), i just miss checking psp hacks and finding a big fuck you to song in the form of a new firmware being downgradeable. finding a way to run homebrew on this mobo will be an interesting thing to watch.

I dont know why you people all say pirating killed the psp. Pirates dont kill game systems, the ps2 did awsome, and loading pirated copies is easier than Paris Hilton (sexual reference. lol). Hell, theres even an thing you can buy that lets you rip ps2 games to its HDD and play them without the dvd. Remember the old PSone swap trick? swapping a legit cd with a burnt one right after the ps logo. The reason that the PSP is dying is that its obsolete, its old, the iPhone has more balls than the psp. the iPhone does good becos Apple released a dev kit for it, and let independant developers make their own apps. Sony is killing the psp not Dax…
