Rumour: New PSP Hardware — PSP-3000?!

A new PlayStation Portable could be in the works… That’s according to PSP China where the following images have surfaced:
The rumoured PSP-3000 model is said to sport a built-in microphone, updated buttons, a few cosmetic changes, and possibly cell phone support.
Realer than real-deal Holyfield? Well, no official word from Sony, and we at PSP-Hacks are a little skeptic concerning the authenticity of these photos. For the moment, this should be treated as pure speculation.

Eoh01, I’m not gonna lie to you. The PSP Slim is really PSP 1.5, with the Phat at PSP 1. It plays the same games as the Phat, has the same buttons, general shape, and very close to identical features.
What insanePSP wants to see is a totally new device on the market. One besides the numerous revisions of the Play Station Portable.

have you ever looked into a psp to see the analog sticks? they’re not very big/deep. the whole enclosure is no more than like 3 quarters stacked up. very small and simple. the back half of the unit has nothing to do with the analog sticks, since it just sits on the motherboard, but are actually attached to the face of the psp.
Who knows? Lets add this to the “rumor of the week files”. Didnt DA say the new official firmware supported hardrive use? Take a look at the pictures. The UMD tray is missing. After testing new units with Samsungs flash RAM failed,they went with a hardrive. Only time will tell.

Even if they were making a psp2. They’d wait. Because if they released a psp2, no one would want the psp and the psp sales would drop. During EA, sony annouced they wanted 5 million more sales of ps2, 10 million of ps3 and 15 million sales of psp. So until that’s accomplished i doubt they’ll be a new one.

it looks the same as my silver slim, i dont see any major differences except the built in mic and phone capability. i dont see a real deal to get happy about it unless they make some song games like american idol for psp.

This is just a Custom faceplate for the PSPslim which they added the headset into the pspslim and changed the home button to the PlayStation symbol to look like the PS button on the PS3 controller.

i believe that this is fake because if they wanted to stop homebrew in their tracks they could make a file that was fixed with information to stop us from having homebrew and unless we checked every single file we wouldn’t have known. besides they just released the slim not too long ago and with the release of ps3 they’ve been hurting a lot i really dont think that they would make a new psp with a built in mic because their headsets sold fast due to the online gameplay. and if they make it with cell phone capabilities it wouldnt be for the US.

Built in mod lights and jewel lights that pulse and perhaps change color to music (this would be so badass it would dramatically improve sales among youth and new people for the coolness factor…ipods would look like shit)
Ability to lock folders (so friends cant see or delete media)
Better boot up times for games by cutting out that annoying ’segue’ into the game when launching (could replace it too)
Ability to run multiple apps when they are tiny in memory/cpu usage.
