PSP Pileup 0.4 Alpha Released
greg | July 6, 2008
Homebrew Idol fans will recognize this one… Sangheili’s PSP Pileup. Visually improved over its last release, PSP Pileup 0.4 features more or less the same game play; however, like I said, Sangheili has revamped the look ‘n feel using oslib with other added effects.

PSP Pileup 0.4 Alpha changes:
- made the music stream.
- ported the entire thing to oslib, for image rotation etc.
- cleaned up the interface and added som menu specialFX.
- made the code less “dangerous” not using labels anymore.
- added a shooter, not really a shooter but a “dodger” since the bullet system is not quite ready.
- added fade in/out screens, they make it look really cool.
- added an “end” though you can keep on playing afterwards.
- added fonts, sorry for “stealing” from NIGathan’s Shootuh
- added a new way to play, “new age” based on the “shooter”

FIRST.
but great release man, i love this homebrew, it’s won me some sweet prizes at arcades:P
thanks, but i found that even though i MADE this game, i still cant win prizes….
i think its because I’m always spending my time making it and not playing it….
Hehe! Same with me on Stakker.
lol, i was close to winning a pocket bike(the electric kind sadly..) until some kid threw a blizzard at my head. i was pissed. but anyways, thanks again.
i’ve only made it pass minor prize on staker but i’m getting the feel for it now and it’s making sense a lot more. Soon, i’ll get the major prize with the help of this. i keep it on the hardest difficulty all the time. Nice work! keep it up!!!
Maybe try makeing a border around the blocks so it looks like the original stacker game. That would definitely spice this puppy up a lot.
thanks for the idea, even though its just a matter of changing a few lines of code, and adding a new interface, it would be pretty easy to do this sort of thing. maybe the prizes could be some new minigames I could implement….
i’m also thinking of making it so you can add your own minigames with prx’s or something. that would be pretty cool.
I have heard good things about this game, but the graphics look so simplistic I probably wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. No offence or anything, but it looks like an Atari game. Judging from the screenshots, there is distinctive visual flair lacking. Something as simple as some lighting shine on the bricks would help a lot I think. But like I say, I’ve yet to play it so I could be wrong. Maybe when I get a chance later I will.
wuts dis game about
simple…its based off an arcade puzzle game that you win prizes in. Three blocks are on the bottom screen going back and forth, and after you stop the first set, the next row up has 3 more moving left and right also. You wanna try to ’stack’ those on the bottom three. Basically it keeps going higher and faster until you reach the top or you don’t get at least one block stacked.
How is the code coming along with the blocks not falling to the right all the time goin? That would be nice to have that cleared up if possible.
So far, I haven’t seen any noticable bugs yet but I plan on messing around with this a lot more so if anything comes up, I’ll post it here, or do you prefer to have it posted elsewhere?
Also, one more suggestion, as you get higher with the blocks and still have 3 blocks, it should soon turn to two blocks and then after another point, over to one. Give it that arcade feeling.
Another suggestion, you know the PSP game “Work Time Fun”? Have little prizes like that game does, collect a whole bunch of little medals or stickers or whatever for the minor prize and for the big prize, have some big stuff that you see in the real game like a coach purse or a wii, even an lcd screen. Have fun a lil..experiment pretty much! Keep up the good work. I’ll shut up now. lol.
dis game makes me laugh cuz i almost passed level 2 but den i failed
the code is coming along pretty good, i’m trying to re-write the setting part of the blocks to make it stack anywhere, but its a bit hard since i dont really know what math to do.
i guess i have to use trial and error then.
i’m thinking of adding minigames that can only be unlocked by going to a certain level but dont really have any ideas. another thing to add would be “bosses” in the shooter, but i can only do that when i fix the bullet system. well, i guess its time to go back to my birthday party. (it is my birthday today you know)
well, happy birthday :P
remember, if you want to see the screenshots of the game, go to the release thread: http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=147769
It’s based on a rigged arcade game that people try to win only because of the tempting prizes they put inside. (Wiis, PSPs, DVD players, PS2s, ect.)
how do u put it in the psp
Can any1 give me a hand on how to install this? Ive tried every combination of folder placement i can think of. I get the logo but when i launch the game i geta black screen, my memory card goes crazy then my psp shuts off? Any help would be fantastic. Thanks
