CXMB 3.2.1 Released — 4.01 M33 Supported *Updated*

greg | July 3, 2008

Update: CXMB 3.2.1 is here…

  • Fix bug (freeze while applying theme)
  • Fix bug (restore to original official XMB when returns from game)
  • make official XMB not a choice of random.

Yes yes y’all… Just what you were waiting for — Poison’s CXMB version 3.2 with official support for custom firmware 4.01 M33. Customize it, theme it, skin it — make it yours.

CXMB Theme Screenshot

CXMB v3.2 changes:

  • Add 4.01 compatibility.
  • Select the random.ctf, then cxmb will randomly apply your themes in /PSP/THEME/
  • Compile universal binary, cxmb.prx should work on 3.71/3.80/3.90/4.01
  • Fix some wrong io operation (I wrote some sceIoClose where there should be sceIoDclose)
  • Clean up sources

The one released on Console Spot was not from the original creator of CXMB. It was done by someone with the handle “Miriam.” This one is official. It was released yesterday.

This DOES NOT WORK under 4.01 M33-2.

I have tried and re-installed several times and NO deal.

When I select a custom theme it just goes back to the DEFAULT theme.

And you ARE using themes specifically for 4.01m33, correct? Themes for 3.90m33/3.95 GEN won’t run on 4.01m33.

Looks like the Large Original II Midnight Black theme but with a different set of icons. Love to know how to assemble this theme, it looks sweet.

Is there anyone who knows why this doesn’t work. I have followed the directions to the T and installed the lite version and nothing? Has anyone successfully installed this with CFW 4.01 M33-2?

Runs fine for me… You’re using 4.01M33 themes? 3.90M33/3.95GEN themes won’t work on 4.01M33.

Most of the 4.01 CTF Themes out , work for Miriams version, but not this one… its pretty odd, and i dont know why.. when you guys look for themes, just make sure you see CTF 3.2.1 next to the title, if not i doubt they will work for this one… girlgamers.co.uk have some great themes (For miriams version)

Does any one have a Mortal Kombat - SubZero theme for 4.01?

A glowing blue with ice crystals would be awesome.

It’s gotta have the wavey lines with a wallpaper. I know this can be done. I have some that do just that.

Just my opinion but a Custom Theme with just the wallpaer looks cheesy on most of them.

There are 2 versions, lite and full. What is the difference? And, for full, it says I need to decrypt 3 prx’s, but the newest PSAR dumper doesn’t work with 4.01.

P.S. CXMB works great on my psp, using the lite plugin running on 4.01 M33-2.

For those ppls, that cxmb don’t work, i have found a solution, not the best but it works than…
I have 4.01M33-2:

1: Install cxmb like in the readme
2: Create a new file named conf.txt in the /cxmb/ folder where the cxmb.prx are…
3: Open conf.txt and write into: “/PSP/THEME/Default.ctf” without the “”…
4: Copy your theme in the /PSP/THEME/ folder and rename it to: “Default.ctf”
5: Restart your PSP and your theme will be loaded…

for me cxmb don’t work, but with that i can load my custom themes…. the theme browser in the designs options… they don’t show me any ctf themes…. like there is no cxmb… but if i write into the conf my theme it loads… dunno…

And my plugins in my psp for error report whatever…
hold.prx v2.1
Lockdown v3 (newest)

And thats all… so without lockdown, dunno but can be that without lockdown cxmb will work right…

Cheers :-)

back in the 3.40OE-c days i used sony UMD tools to create my own gameboots, back then it was a matter of sliding them into flash0, but NONE of MY custom gameboots or battery icons work, even tried XMB editor(3.90m33), but still wont flash my battery icon, and wont DEBRAND gamboot. any help here would be nice as my DOOBIE battery is super cool
