Custom Firmware 4.01 M33 Released

Ah, ha! Where we last left off Sony unexpectedly released firmware 4.01 while Dark_AleX was in the midst of developing 4.00 M33. Today, the continuation of our episode has come to a delightful end. Dark_AleX strikes with force and delivers the much anticipated custom firmware 4.01 M33.
4.01 M33 changes:
- Bug fix: vshmenu didn’t let change camera mode due to camera_plugin using select button. Fixed, now vsh menu will not be loaded when using the camera.
- Recovery can now be translated, See how below. Translation to Spanish is auto included.
- Updated the M33 SDK with a new function and sample, and released the psp-packer tool to compress prx’s and PBP’s in the ~PSP format.
- The folder of 4.01 and higher homebrew will be GAME4XX so it won’t need change on update.
Also mentioned in the readme: the 1.50 kernel add-on for the PSP Fat will be released tonight.

guys have Download the Fw4.01 and b4 the M33 is launch after which i tried to run the V4.01M33 show me some error. tried many time still the same erroe message any idea what i should do ….
you have to have cusotm firmware to run it so now you need to use a pandora batter to downgrade

Hi, While trying to do the 4.1 CF update i forgot to change the sony firmware name to 401. Now i have Sony’s Origianl firmware.
How can i put 4.01 M33 back?

I’m currently using 3.9 m33-3
They will work the same :) Once you upgrade go into recovery mode and re-enable your plugin…..

Just to be clear…sony releases 4.00, realizes there’s a problem and rushes 4.01 out the door…
This causes DA/M33 absolutely NO problem whatsoever and he just creates CFW 4.01, seeing as there’s no reason to make 4.00M33 and 4.01M33…
Maybe I’m going out on a limb here, but my guess is that DA is, in fact, God…

Your right, CXMB plugin does not work, hangs if the plugin is switched on
Dammit. I updated from GEN 3.9x over the network update (which was set to M33) and now I’m stuck with the official firmware again! :(

I don’t think the fatmsmod 3.71 for 3.80/3.90 works on 4.01m33 as it semi-bricked my PSP.
No it doesnt lol. Yes i bricked myne too lol. I decided to redo my upms 4 stick after updating.
But after having done it myself let me say it should have been obvious that a 3.xx patch isnt gonna work on a 4.xx firmware lol.
Now for me work very good M33-401 on psp slim.

yea dax site is down dat why we cant use the update datsite where the psp finds m33 updates and his site is down so just have 2 wait,,,, 2 update or download it from here……when his site his back up u can use the psp 2 update ,,,,

problem solved. I format the memory stick and left the volume label empty because before this I always rename my ms volume label.

3.95 GEN is a custom firmware (CFW) not an official firmware (OFW).
And no, you can’t directly upgrade.
What the hell is with can they not read the readme.txt in the rar file. Read every possible reference that the rar file has to offer before asking questions. I mean, I don’t mind answering but common the freaking file that explain is right in your face!
