SNES9x is a bit slower compared to 3.90-3 (PSP Fat). It's only recemended for testing purposes, stick to 3.90-3 M33 instead or wait for a fully tested custom 4.0 in the next few days.. It’s better to use 3.90-3 M33, since
this firmare still lacks compatibility

I used pandora to do a 3.71-m33, then upgraded to 3.95 gen, then update gen-2 and have no problems with snes9xTYL at all. You dont have to make up stories.
