uhh, thanks i think.
I haven’t have any problem with 3.95 gen but oh well, i still get it.
Does this cfw have the 1.5 kernel yet???
no, but nor like it matters anymore, everything is 3.xx kernel these days
actually, alot of things still use the 1.50 kernal, like, PSPR, gpsp, and NesterJ (not 100% opn that last one, but wont work for me under the 3.9 kernal)
I found that if you use the 1.0 kernal version on 3.xx kernal then it works much better. Somebody, cant remember the name, posted it with a really cool theme in some forums… somewhere… lol… sorry for not being very helpful.
Does M33 plan to release their own? I’m out of the loop right now….
Is this the new leader in CF?
MM3 will drop a new firm wire when sony does the same.
I would wait for it, but thats just me.
I ment MM3 will drop there 4.0 when sony does the same.
it’s M33. . . .
how can you make a mistake twice???
m33 is much better
firm wire lol what a knob
with a name which includes “THC”, i’d make a guess that he is st0ned ;)
And you would be correct!
and as far as psparker is goes. look man i was just trying to help out a fellow psp owner with his question.
and yes i screwed up twice, so what? I am a noob.
Most noobs ask questions about every little thing. I have asked damn near zero questions.
I read the Guides/stickies. and done it myself with no questions.
anyways thats all i got to say about that. (goes to get stoned)
ok, I save these to my computer, unzip the file, than what Im new to the world of psp hacking. I’ve tried getting alot of your files here at psp hacks and they never run on the psp. when I access directly from my psp browser, they save to a file called common, which I can’t find. need help. I=noob. PS, need recomendations for which files to get and I have a psp fat.
Check the forum, dude.

If you have a PSP with official firmware (i.e. not hacked yet), you’ll have to downgrade your system before you can install these custom firmwares.
People on the help forum are very kind to noobs and always willing to help. Check it out.
will irshell work on this update
Sorry pal, but This is the exact sam thing as the first. The only difference is the -2. cxmb and snes don’t work either.
what can they actully improve in the new CFW 4.00 ?
No one really knows. It could be nothing important, honestly. People seem to think however than since 4 is a nice, even number, that the update will be some big thing.
Yeah, there could be a lot, or Sony may just be bringing out 4096-bit encryption for their firmwares.
more than likely
just more titles
added under playstation w/e
i wouldnt hold my breath on
anything special
ofw 4.0 will have divx support
didn’t you guys read that article on n4g about the psp being directionless, and sony not knowing waht the freaking hell to do with it and how homebrew is the biggest thing on the psp for this reason?
Yeeeeeeah… but I tend not to take N4G as the Gospel truth.
How much direction does the Nintendo DS have right now? What about the Wii? How about PC gaming?
“Direction” is rather subjective these days…
I know that Sony plans on giving the PSP Divx support in 4.00 FW.
Does this work on 3.9m33?
Anyways, I would think Divx supppot would consume alot of battery decode, seeing how my 2.5ghz even goes up when I watch Divx movies, but logically speaking anyways.
Not to mention the size of the Divx movies, jesus.
what about xvid? its a very popular video codec, and isn’t as much of a resource hog as divx
if something play back dixv, it can playback xvid. they’re the exact same codec for playback purposes.
Man, divx is the best there is. File size shouldn’t be a complaint either… 700mb for a high res copy of a movie is pretty good. You can drop that file size in a psp video converter and have half that file size…. with the 8gig memory sticks out, who cares anyways.
it occours to me, that the popsloader wont work with spyro (it worked with 3.90 M33), as well, none of my other ps1 games will work, after having this “pseudo-brick” which scared me ****less for 2 hours (i kinda have me pandora stuff lent out(i thought i wasn’t going to be able to use my psp for a week or two ><))
also, for anyone who gets a “psuedo-brick” you can fix it in the recovery menu, with the “flash1 and reset to defaults” option.
lastly, i’m going back to 3.80 m33-5, when it occoured to me, popsloader seems to be more stable in that version, as well as CWCHEAT.
I AM DARK ALEX NO Fear M33 IS HERE
fake
fake
Fake
poser
asshole
will dax release another ofw? in his webpage, those last update means latest update or final update?
It means latest update… He’ll put out another CFW after the next significant OFW update.
I’ll try to make a 1.50 kernel support !!! But tomorrow !!! otep@mail.bg if anyone is interested !!!
Please don’t support 1.5 homebrew. It only benefits half of us and timemachine’s ipls and kernel eboots are space consuming. It’s getting old anyway. Even DAX advises that we stop coding and sticking with 1.5. We now have the slim and a 3.XX kernel that works on both models. We’ll soon be moving on to a 4.XX kernel so why stick with a launch firmware when there are more features in 3.XX cfw.
i will only update to the 3.95 cfw if they can fix the cxmb issue. not slating it as i couldnt do any better, but it seems to be an odd thing not to fix.

The first day the psp is on with 3.95 gen, working as it probably should. then i be away for about 24h’s, then when i get back and turned it on….. bricked!!!!!!!
Just how tha hell do you brick a psp when it’s off!?!?!?!?!!?
I my SNES emulator stopped working when I upgraded from 3.72M33 to 3.80M33. Is this the SNES emulator that’s mentioned?
The SNES emulator I use didn’t work on 3.95 GEN so I had to downgrade back to 3.90M33-3 the new release of the snes emulator is in ‘news’ on this site I do believe. It works great with 3.90M33-3 not sure about others. Maybe you should upgrade to 3.90M33-3?

I have sony’s official firmware 3.90
I am trying to update to a custom firmware 3.95 GEN-2 can it be done?
You can find many tutorials to help you with this in the forums.
Can be done. You need to downgrade with Pandora and then install a CFW.
As PoisonCrazy said, check the forums.

A universal PSP unbricker/downgrader by the Prometheus project, also
known as Team C+D.
REQUIREMENTS
- A spare PSP Battery. Any make will do. Using a spare is best, as it
will not be possible to boot the PSP in its normal state with the
modified battery.
- A spare Memory Stick Pro Duo of less than 4Gb. (256Mb should be
enough for all applications).
- A PSP with a Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC, or a PSP with
the 1.5 original kernel.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
- Connect the PSP to the PC with the Memory Stick inside via the USB
Connection.
- Format the Memory Stick using any utility.
- Use mspformat to format the Memory Stick logically.
- Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
- Connect the Memory Stick again via the USB connection of the PSP.
- Manually create the PSP/GAME (optionally PSP/GAME150) folders on the
Memory Stick.
- Copy the “battery” and “installer” programs to the PSP/GAME
(optionally PSP/GAME150) folder.
- Copy the 1.50 official updater as UPDATE.PBP to the root of the
Memory Stick.
- Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
- Run “installer” through the firmware on the PSP. This application
will create the firmware files on the root of the Memory Stick, as
well as msipl.bin.
- Connect the Memory Stick again via the USB connection of the PSP.
- Execute “msipl” application on the PC with the msipl.bin to write
the IPL to memory stick.
- Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
- Execute “battery” application on the PSP to modify the battery.
- Congratulation, you are now in posession of a “Magic Memory Stick”
and a “JigKick Battery”.
USAGE
- Insert Memory Stick into the PSP
- Remove power cord and insert the JigKick Battery into the PSP.
- A menu appears when the PSP boots. Follow the onscreen information
and instructions.
NOTES AND RESTRICTIONS
- The firmware in the Memory Stick is not a full 1.50, but a minimal
subset. Therefore, not all applications (such as flashers, or
recovery apps) will load.
- Only Memory Stick Pro Duo are compatible. Memory Stick Duo
(e.g. 32MB sticks) are not supported.
- The IDStorage cannot be totally restored, as there is no known way
to regenerate it properly.
- It is strongly RECOMMENDED to make a flash dump of the PSP before
any downgrading operation.
- There might be a BSOD at the end of the downgrade. This is normal,
and happens on the standard downgraders.
- All hardware revisions known at this day are supported.
- This release contains no Sony-copyrighted material. All required
Sony data is generated from the v1.50 update files.
CREDITS
- Please do not edit or remove these credits… ;)
- All work done by the Prometheus team aka Team C+D:

- With thanks to everyone who has contributed to the PSPSDK, without which
nothing would have been possible.
M33 has quited and decided to add a virus to there next firmware release. When the next M33 is out download at your own risk.
Wha? I hope this is fake. It’d be kinda funny if it was Sony all along though and they’re just gonna brick everyone’s PSP with 4.00 cfw :P
You are an idiot. And next time you try to pose as a moderator you should have a damn dictionary handy, then maybe you’ll know that words like “quited” let everyone know how dumb you really are.
Heh yeah. I noticed moderator isn’t even spelled right.
i put the 395.pbp, which i downloaded from the sony site as the eboot file, in the root of the memory stick. why can’t the 395 GEN updater open the 395.pbp? its on the root and named correctly, is it not? i’ve never had this problem before.
im running cfw 3.93… wait it says “System Software Version 3.93″ is that normal for the cfw? cause i remember it saying “3.90 cfw” before, it think? if i did magically revert to official firmware though, i wouldn’t have the recovery menu right? cause i have that.
i don’t actually need to update to 3.95 cfw but i have nothing better to do so any help will be appreciated.
Did you download that unofficial 3.93 M33 CFW?
name it “395″
hi just wanna ask why my popsloader worked for the first time but wont work anymore after i used the custom control? what happens is that all the games boot to a black screen with the optional POP’s versions. when one is selected the system freezes. i tried different versions of poploader.prx including the one in the 3.95gen-2 zip. pls give me some advice.. thnx in advance.
You have all the proper files for each POPS version present on your stick? Because if you choose POPS version 3.40, but don’t have all of the files for 3.40, then the system will freeze.
i placed the all pops version and now it works.. but i dunno how to get the 3.95 version.. if i turn off the plugin, it will hang with black screen. tried with crash bash, crash bandicoot compilation, and crash team racing. all wont work. i also tried to use psardumper to get the prxs for 3.95 and replace those in 3.72 and selceted that option, still hangs…
A lot of people are having problems with this CFW and 3.95 POPS. I’ve really got no suggestions for you. You should create a thread on this problem in the help forum, there are lots of people more knowledgeable than myself there.
this is the only CFW i have had that i actually bricked a PSP with.
tried to play a PSX-pops eboot = bricked, reboots to black screen, wont enter recovery
pandora’d back to CFW 3.52-m33
went back to cfw 3.90-m33, and upgraded to CFW 3.95 gen, and first time i played snes9xTyl = bricked
i dont like this CFW at all…..
Me niether. It was the same as 3.95GEN -1. There were no bug fixes what so ever. Still at least someone’s helping our scene.
You dont have to make up stories. I used pandora to do a 3.71-m33, then upgraded to 3.95 gen, then update gen-2 and have no problems with snes9xTYL at all.
I am trying to get more people to play Syphon Filter Combat Ops please pass the link around to other people & Sites enjoy http://www.sendspace.com/file/e6×5nq
I am glad to see someone try to bring more people into Syphon Filter Combat Ops, as it is an excellent game, but please try to keep comments on topic. Comments like spore89s are best for the forums. Besides, more people are going to notice and reply to it that way.
Back on topic though, I too had a problem with this firmware and had to recover with pandora. It is always good to see any additions to the scene, and I hope to see further improvements.
how about wifi 3.95 installation????
Thank you for this cfw my PSP’s bricked and got to use my Pandora. My pandora works!!! Yahoo!!!
you sir are meant to walk on earth as a real happy person forever. we too are happy for you.
Hi guys, more bad news. GEN Network Update does not work. Reinstalled 3.95GEN after a brick and no go. Also some of my configure settings in Recovery mode changed by themselves. Wow, whats that burning? Later.
need help!!!
my psp cant load my ps1 game after i did upgrade to 3.95 GEN or GEN-2….T-T
Trying to keep it real waiting for dax… cause 3.95 GEN seems real buggy…?
i put the update file in my game file and when start the update it says game could not be started. can i please get some help?
4.0 came out today official unhacked my psp. wont show games tried to downgrade to 3.90 couldn’t.
It’s better to use 3.90-3 M33, since
this firmare still lacks compatibility
with many homebrew apps (NesterJ being one, BMP Maker, etc), it has a very notable bug with CWCheat 0.2.2.C.
SNES9x is a bit slower
compared to 3.90-3 (PSP Fat). It’s only recemended
for testing purposes, stick to 3.90-3 M33 instead or wait for a fully tested custom 4.0 in the next few days..
i dun recommend this…because how on earth can a psp brick on its own when ya do nothing at all..even after i haf successfully upgrade to 3.95 GEN for a few weeks…great work..now i haf to make a pandora batt.. and downgrade to 3.90 m33..bad bad experience for the “new” crew who try their best to deliver 3.95 cfw…
