Ruckus MOD LE v1.1

greg | June 4, 2008

Make some noise with CK’s modded version of Captain Dan’s “Ruckus.” Musically manipulate your own MP3 tracks using Ruckus’ featured DJ techniques.

Now all you need is mootoo’s Super Sound Mod… Watch that following the “more” link below.

Ruckus Mod LE (Loop Edition) v1.1 features:

  • playback mp3 (of course) BUT at variable speed
  • playback speed from -100.00% (seen only as -00.00%) /still/ to +100.00% (+00.00%) /double speed/ in as little as 0.01% steps (can increase)
  • fast and/or precise tempo adjustment; fast speed reset
  • pitch-bend by analogue stick with dead-zone (adjustable -3% to +3% or -10% to +10%)
  • support CUE and the so called CUE-preview (or CUE-play)
  • embedded usbhostfs support
  • remain/elapsed time display, near-the-end warning (flashing)
  • basic loop support (relatively accurate – timebase error<1/40sec at 0% tempo)
  • long filename scroll at browser “window”
  • support mp3s up to size 20MB (on “fat” psp / not tested on slim)
  • compatible with 3.90 M33-3 in 3.90 mode as also as 1.50 mode

This is a psp recreation of an already existant piece of 500$ kit. Usually these were found in the form of CDJ (compact disc dj) where you have 2 cd players connected via a built in mixer. you can cue up and mark positions in playing songs to run a party :D

This is a great program, I have been using it for about 8 months now. Put it on two psps for the full effect, or just play around with the one.

Captain Dan is the man! I use his mp3 playback functions in my software.

Yes, Captain Dan was done very well, but abandoned the project, that still had some flaws: mainly the tempo adjust won’t work as precise as it promised (around 0.1% worked instead of 0.01%) due to a misplaced variable-operand. I don’t blame it, instead, i make this improved version based on his project. (and very greatfull to not had to start from scratch :) )

(you can make some “practice” on only one psp with music.prx /don’t forget to remap keys/)

I would not recommend using this on a plane, or at an airport or somewhere. Looks somewhat suspicious XD Awesome little app though.
