An Assortment of Fine PSP Mods

greg | May 20, 2008

Forum member, folklord36, has shared an assortment of mentionable PSP hardware mods…

Shown immediately below is the parallel memory stick mod; adding extra storage without any added bulkiness. That’s two inserted memory sticks with two integrated switches flipping between your two gigabyte-packed sticks.

And another dope one — the PSP [mini] Laptop –

There are a few others — sound reactive LED mods, internal SD card mod — and more images/videos/details following the source link. Good lookin’ out, folklord.

The laptop mod looks uber nice. Use a your old fat or your slim psp as a pda style device for real. Use the pda assistant apps for notes, calendar, calculator, best of all it’s a keyboard so much faster on the type. Browsing the web, using those chat clients and and a bunch of other apps instantly get easier with a keyboard.

So, is there any practical use for the dual memstick mod? I’m not going to add a second memstick bay if it requires it to look like that…

it’s one of the most practical mods i’ve seen.

hmmm, dual 8 or 16gb sticks… pretty much have my psp backups collection on the go, well the good ones anyways.

about the looks, it’s just that he was showing the internals, without the actual shell… your psp should look something like that on the inside too, except probably without the UP nand chip, love that mod chip to death as well.

i would so pay for that.

the keyboard… well i donno, don’t use the psp to type anyways, just game and view podcasts on public transport… makes those 1.5hr train trips to uni seem short.

extra space is always welcome!

Yeah, thanks for that. As you said that is not how my psp looks with the mod. It is just i don’t want to assembled it each time i want to rec anything.
If anyones have a look to the tuto i explained there, how the mem is reached and that it is not require to remove the umd drive or anything. Externally no one will be able to tell if you have that mode or not.

That PSP laptop is the most pimp mod I’ve ever seen. I’d LOVE to have one of those…
