FuSa 1.0 Build 32 Released

greg | May 10, 2008

The FuSa project has a new home and a new build available for download. OldPrisoneR and Andy_maN’s combined efforts have paved the road to pure awesomeness. Take advantage of Slim’s TV out support with the use of any cable — composite, component, s-video, d-terminal, etc… And not only that, full screen (at 4×3) too!

Things are a bit buggy; FuSa is beta software. See the README for known bugs and other info.

FuSa 1.0 Build 32:

  • Full GTA games series support
  • Connection is stable now (You can freely enter menus in GTA :))
  • No more extra noise or stammer!
  • New settings added
  • And more…

+1 to above, this program is great. It’s great to see progress so quickly. once the aspect ratio is fixed this will be my favorite bit of homebrew in a long time. My compliments to all involved with this project.

YES!! I was literally just getting on to see if a FUSA update was available and it was! This plugin doesn’t work for me when I’m emulating PSOne games, does anybody else have that problem?

I got ps1 games working with mine, here’s how:
don’t turn on FuSa (i.e., press “+”and”-”) until it is past the opening scenes - meaning, into the menus. if that doesn’t work for you, try not turning it on until you have started a level.

P.S. - it works best if you set the screen mode for ps1 games to fullscreen, so FuSa stretches it to the viewable area. when FuSa is released fullscreen, this will be awesome with PS1 games! just like playing them on a PS1, except on your PSP! lol

I have a serious problem with this program. Not only does it royally screw the aspect ratio, it also lags on most games. Now I would be just fine with that, cuz it’s a beta. But then it messed up my component cables. Now when I switch to regular video output, everything is red and black. Anyone know how to help?

have you tried disabling the prx in recovery? if the prx is still enabled then that would explain why it goes red and black when you try to use the component outputs.

Even when I format flash 1 and reset my settings, it still goes red. I know for a fact it was caused by this and not my cables or tv (tried with multiple tvs, and cables). I have no clue what to do

WOW, the new FuSa priority adjustment makes a world of difference! Donkey Kong 3 on my snes emu was running like crap, but now it’s playable by turning the priority up to 99% with no noticeable drawbacks! Yeah, the menu doesn’t appear when I’m playing FFIX though..

You can’t fix that unless you can open the cable and change the conections… Buy a compose cable =) it’s way more simple

my aspect ratio is still messed up, it could be my tv. the image is squished from the borders and the top and bottom is clipped, its like at 3×4 instead of 4×3, nevertheless i am still impressed with this whole project

The instructions says this: “USSAGE:
It’s very simple - just hold “-” + “+” for a while and menu will appear
(since beta version plugin has auto enable feature) ( J.F. , as you wished :) )”

What exactly is + and - ? Maybe X and…??? IDK!

Everything works fine EXCEPT for some reason the video on the tv is black and white . I’m using a component cable and i plugged in the green colored video male into the yellow composite video female.
I tried the blue, red white as well and it doesnt work at all. So with the green one the video shows but it is black and white. can someone help me?

Make sure your cable type matches the TV input you are trying to use. There are 3 types of cables available: (1) component (with three outputs, red, green, blue)–you must use this only on a TV that has those inputs. This program is useful for me, and I have that cable and I TV with that input, but only “interlaced”, not progressive scan. (2) composite-this is just a yellow cable that plugs into a single yellow video input on the TV. Most TVs have a composite input. (3) SVHS/separated cable–this has both a yellow and white signal. Yellow is the “chroma” or color signal, and white is the “luma” or brightness. You must have TV that accepts SVHS input to use that. If you plug a luma output into the composite input of a TV, you will get a black and white only picture–such as you have now.

Hope that helps

I’m plugging in the green colored video input of the composite cable. The cable has 5 inputs, (blue+green for video) and two red and one white for audio. The green one is the only one that’s giving me a picture and the picture is in black & white. It works fine when I plugged both the green + blue into a component (hdtv) compatible tv, but not with a composite where you can only plug into the yellow for video.

I thought the only tv-out cable for the psp is the component cable. Is there a composite cable too?

Comment by phil

There are a total of three TV out cables sold for the PSP. (1) component (2) composite (standard video) and (3) SVHS/Separated Video.

You have cable (1)…..you need cable (2). Check eBay…you can find all three cables there

The only thing pissing me off is what firmware version does this thing need to be on to work properly????
I am on 3.71 m33-4 and when i activate the plug in in the recovery menu, all games crash after the 1 or 2 intro screens.

So what CFW?

I just want to let you guys know I have been using this to play socom ftb 1, and last night i was using it and my psp started giving me a shock and a spark out of the screws on the top, psp slim 3.90 m33-3. I suggest not using this it may damage your psp, just wait until they make it better. btw my psp was fine, but i wont be using it again.
