theb1rdm4n has a brand new Homebrew Idol-ified version of his shooter up for grabs… After playing a few intensified rounds and calling it quits, you’ll soon be re-launching “Birdman’s Shooter” with the mentality of destroying your previous high score; it’ll do that. I’m going back in for more, right after taking this opportunity to calm myself and share version 1.3 with y’all first.
What’s theb1rdm4n gotta say?
It is loosely based off of the game Galaga. The game pits you against endless waves of enemies that get harder as the game goes on. Every 8 levels there is a bonus level and the enemies get harder, but the enemy count resets back to level one and continues to grow every level. If you perfect a bonus level you get an extra life and bonus points. Scores grow exponentially as the current level and difficulty increase. Scores are also slightly based off of your accuracy, so the more accurate you are, the higher your score will be.
Birdman’s Shooter v1.3 highlights:
- A sleek new interface
- Gameover screen changed
- New options screen
- Options and high scores are saved
- 10 backgrounds, 5 bullet colors, and 11 player’s ship colors
- New high score table that displays: score, level, and accuracy for top 10
- Completely revamped scoring system
- New power-up that slows enemies for a few seconds
- New loading screen with loading bar
- New bonus level with stats screen

This is a fun game… I have a question to ask though how long is a ban on the live chat?

Great game! Only thing I would change is the color of the players ship. It is pretty hard to see, but I love this game! Keep up the great work!
lol, if you go into options and press down, you can change the color of your ship. there are 11 different colors to choose from. black, red, teal, green, and purple, each with a dark and light version. and then a light yellow which is really easy to see even outside.
oh and also, if you press L or R while in the options screen you can choose between 10 different space backgrounds.
This is so much Fun. very addicting.

Hey, I really like this game.
Just a few suggestions that you can feel free to ignore.
Boss levels.
Bomb weapon. (ex. press O to fire, O again to detonate, taking out a few ships)
Shield power up. Like the double fire, slow ships power ups that fall.
I was gonna suggest sound and music but saw you’re planning it for the next version so I can’t wait :D.
