FuSa 1.0 (beta) b011 — Slim TV Out using Composite Cables

greg | May 1, 2008

Update: Build 17 is available –

  • fixed bug which didn’t allow to disable plugin
  • added hotkeys
  • a little step to GTA games compatibility

Does your television lack component input(s)? If the answer is yes, are you sad or pissed off you cannot utilize TV out on your Slim? Then OldPrisoneR will either turn that frown upside down or prevent another Columbine with “FuSa” — a PRX module/plugin enabling TV out support using composite cables.

Usage, features, known bugs, everything and anything — see README.txt.

Has anyone had problems with aspect ratio when playing on a standard definition TV? Here the image is squeezed in the center of the screen and there are two black borders on the left and right sides of the screen. Is there some sort of config I can change?

Andre,
I have not tried this .prx, but even using the component cables on my hd tv i have troubles with the aspect ratio, often the screen is displayed how you described it with the black borders on the left and right side, so you may not be able to change the aspect ratio until the creator of this .prx modifies it making it so that you can change the settings.

That’s what I thought, I tried changing the aspect ratio config in the XMB settings but I had the same results… The thing is, when I hook it up to an HDTV there are borders all around the screen, on both left+right and up+down portions, but when using this prx it takes advantage of all the screen real estate on the vertical direction but the borders are there in the horizontal direction.. I guess I’ll have to wait for updated versions, but it’s without a doubt a brilliant piece of work that will go down in the history of the PSP

The official XMB settings through the progressive scan on an hd tv will change the aspect ratio to 16:9, and keep the old resolution that the games had on your psp. This keeps the images from looking choppy.

It’s not worth buying a slim if you have a fat ! Don’t tell him he SHOULD ! Dude, you don’t need the fucking TV-Out. Just play on your PSP, watch movies on your PSP, ENJOY YOUR FUCKING PSP !

To install:

Copy FuSa.prx and dvemgr.prx to your seplugins folder in your root menu.

make sure to add these to your game.txt if not already there. I know the dvemgr is not:

ms0:/seplugins/FuSa.prx
ms0:/seplugins/dvemgr.prx

once in game push both volume buttons, ( - & + ) to access the menu.

not all games work properly and as mentioned above the aspect ratio is off. There’s nothing you can do until the creator edits the settings. look for updates.

enjoy

One more thing, don’t forget to enable the plugin by holding down the R button when you power on the psp. Then go to plugins and enable dvemgr plugin and fusa plugin. There you go.

hey, quick question, whenever I first plugged in my compatible game, echochrome, it worked fine (despite aspect ratio mess up.. which i think can be fixed if you set it to 16:9 mode). Then, after a minute or so of playing, i wanted to test god of war. It didn’t work, so I was like, whatever. Then, I tried out silent hill origins, which ran beautifully… but its red. Instead of like grayscale… it’s redscale. I swapped the game for echo chrome, now echochrome is red. ????
