PSP Firmware 3.95:
- While playing PSone games on your PSP, you can now customize how the buttons are assigned by going to [Controller Settings] > [Assign Buttons] and select [Custom].
- You can now quit Remote Play and choose to turn off your PS3 or leave it on after quitting. This is useful if you are performing a download and want to quit Remote Play, but still want your download to continue on the PS3. Select [Quit and Turn Off the PS3 System] or [Quit Without Turning Off the PS3 System] from [Quit Remote Play] when you press the HOME button on the PSP system.

Sony was released to release 4.00 at the beginning of this year. My best guess is they have some new feature planned out for it, so instead of delaying 4,00 even more, they decided to release what they already had planned for 4.00 in this 3.95 update
i read somwhere that there is going to be “flash 7″ for slim on 4.00

*sighs* well nothing new except for that ps3 thing. you can assign buttons with popsloader, so i dont think its useful, or exciting. I hope DAX doesn’t minceake a custom firmware with this, it wouldn’t make sense. just wory about 3.90m33 and try to make it more stable than it is, because by the look of this, we wont see the big “4.0″ in a while.

It went to 3.90 to 3.95 why not 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or any other numbers? is it on the amount of updates they make to make the number or just a made up number to make it look cool?

There was a 3.91… all the other small points were probably internal devs. Other than that they follow the standard model of a ones digit being a large update, a 10th being a medium grade update, and a 100th being a relatively insignificant update (usually reserved for bug fixes). The stall with getting to 3.95 is probably because they dont want to waste a big 4.00 on an update yet.
I’m pretty sure that 3.91, 3.92, 3.94 were only released on UMDs like that same way that PS3 went from 2.10 to 2.17. I havent found a that 2.16 is included on GT5 Prolog.

Can anyone else turn on the PS3 using remote play over the internet? I can turn it on using the private network, or using the internet while on my private network, but I have to have the PS3 in remote play to use it over the internet (not on my network). Anyone else have this problem?
What they really need is the ability for the left analog stick to act as a left analog stick in PS1 games…

Hm, I’ll have to check this. So far the analogue usually has the Dpad directions mapped to it, meaning you get 8 directions of motion from it. Bit of a bugger for the likes of Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid. With MGS hitting Japan, I would expect them to put full analogue nub support in.

I love my remote play– but this update sounds like Elcrappo ha ha –sony thinks were still sleepy or hu-ngover.
what’s with 4.00 fw? if the total size of that fw decreases and increase of effeciency in memory management with additional module enhancements then it’s worth creating a cfw from it.

Currently, you may turn on your PS3 via PSP by enabling Remote Start under the remote play options on your PS3. Available options for quitting remote play are: Turn off PS3 System, Quit Remote Play.
The former does as it states. The latter merely quits the connection on the PSP’s end so that you may use your PSP as you would regularly. However, your PS3 will stay in “Remote Play Mode.”
Do background downloads not resume while the PS3 is in “Remote Play Mode”? This shouldn’t be the case, since I can see the downloads going while I’m in Remote play through my PSP.
I’m currently using 3.90M33-3. As to if this option was put in the CFW before Sony, I have no idea. Does anybody have <3.95 Official firmware that can confirm this?
They need to Just Make it so u can play your psp games on the Ps3. :)
and i wish use the psp as a controller for the ps3 or has that been done and when i mean controller i mean a usb used controller to play ps3 games not use wifi for the controller to work i mean come on u have usb right there wtf ?

Yes there are…. But how much of them have done SO much for the Homebrew Scene? Sure homebrew still would have gotten by… but, it was DAX that pushed it to what it is today.

I don’t use remote play as I don’t have a PS3. Fully changeable PS1 controls are good though. If DAX thinks that the remote play thing isn’t that big a feature then he might as well just update Popsloader.
Sony will do anything they can to increase publicity, and to certify that the PSP is not dying, releasing small, regular(ish) updates will help. Just like Windows Update, I’m sure there are people that don’t know what these updates do, but are worried if they don’t update something bad will happen. Sony feeds on people like that, and as long as those people exist, you will continue seeing small updates like these.
Ah yes but Windows updates are actually important, especially as most of them are security ‘fixes’ :)
4.00 is just a number. If they add something cool like divx support or something that’s cool. But who gives a crap about what number it is? 3.97 could be better than 4.00 (if there ever is a 3.97 or 4.00)
how bout the ability to use animated gif’s as icon’s? how bout the ability to actually play my ps3 games on my psp? how bout they make it so i can stream mp3s and music to my psp from my ps3 while still playing the ps3? how bout they take their head out of their ass and think a little bit about what they set out to do in the first place which was make everything linkable and compatible? all i can do now with this crap is browse my ps3 xmb with my psp, that’s great if i wanna different theme for the moment.

if your sick of windows but your too cheap for a mac (or your smart enough to know mac sucks) use linux for all your OS needs. its far more stable than either and it can run on pc or mac hardware.

besides, you can always set a psp video as a splash screen for irshell (same thing)
they did till 3.52. im talking about 3.71 plus without the use of ir shell or time machine. like it was on 3.52. right off the mem stick using the autorun feature in recovery. using other apps to use cintro kinda sucks.

i have a fat psp w/ cfw 3.52 m33-2. it works fine with iso, cso, homebrew ect. then, i update it to cfw 3.90 m33-3.now i can no longer play homebrew games.anyone there who can enlighten me with my troubles? bout 4, i hope it adds manual equalizer in mp3.that would be nice ; )
try adding 1.5 kernel patch,also i want 4.00 to hav music able to keep playin when on games/internet
Everytime Sony releases a Major firmware for the PSP, two things happen. The first is the major firmware release has something fairly big added. For 2.0, it was the web browser, for 3.0 it was remote play (and that is a big addition). The 2nd thing that happens when a major release happens, is there is some security glitch that needs a new update, like 2.01 and 3.03. Sony does not want to release a patch such as 4.01 or 4.05 after 4.00 is released. Chances are Pandora will be able to work on downgrading this, however they want to minimize the chances that a downgradable or otherwise potential hack exists. Who could blame them. Anybody compare version 1.50 to todays 3.9x series? If your honest, you cant deny there are huge differences.
guys, anyone there know how to play iso movies?i tried putting iso movies on iso/video directory. the tittle appears on the iso video mount in the m33 vsh menu but after that, nothings happens. any help will be highly appreciated.
