Just when you thought everything was said and done; CipherUpdate & kono release their tool to decrypt PSP games purchased through the PlayStation Network Store — PSP titles, not PSOne games.

This is a psp homebrew to decrypt psp games bought from the Playstation Nework Store. Only those that are real psp games, not psone, can be decrypted with this tool. Only psp that can play the game can decrypt it. After decryption it can be played on whatever psp running a CFW. This homebrew has only been tested in 3.90, we don’t know if can works on other CFW.
-=Instructions=-
Locate EBOOT.PBP of the game to decrypt and change its name to NP.PBP. Copy EBOOT.PBP and npeg.prx from this release in that folder. Run NpegDecryptor. The game will be decrypted to the ISO folder with some name as “NPEG-XXXXX.iso” “NPUG-XXXXXX.iso”… After decryption, you can play the iso game normally as you would do with other iso, try various umd modes if one don’t work.

no luck on syphon filter here. i followed the instructions correct I get the same error as “instant”

In case you haven’t read the readme you must own the game to be able to decrypt it. If you haven’t bought it you can’t decrypt it.
oh you need the license folder,files,etc so I guess gotta wait til someone decrypts some games they bought n puts em on torrents,etc
At least with iso’s it was for backing up games and loading faster but this is just blatant piracy :-/

Sony isn’t hurting for cash, I am. I Paid for the game beats and couldn’t DL because of custom firmware issues…Guess what, Sony didn’t give me my 10 dollars back… So I’m takin’ this one back, I’m takin’ em all back.

well this could be useful for ppl with more than one psps eg those that bought the slim even though they had fat… like me.
I am a litte confused as to what this does… I recently purchased the game Beats from the PS Store for psp… but the Playstation Downloader from sony won’t even recognize my psp.. I am currently using a phat with 3.90 m33-3 and 3.71 fatmsmod patch.. I thought 3.9 was going to fix problems with the PS store.. oh we guess I have to wait for 4.0 m33???
It’s the 3.71 fatmsmod patch! I had trouble downloading content with this mod. Had to Pandora back to CFW3.90m33. Good luck.

You have to own the game in order to decrypt it. The program looks for the LICENSE folder and your act.DAT file (which is stored in flash2). NpegOpen=0 should appear. Make sure you have plenty of memory stick space because the program will expand the EBOOT to an CSO file.

I actuay bought Beats ono their store, to support the game and couldn’t even get it to work cuz my cfw and 3.71 fatms patch… now thanks to this i was able to download every single game from the store through torrents for free. When will Sony learn? Maybe if they spent more time appeasing there customers and allowing their products to be used by them how they see fit… look at the wii… sure you can get a wiikey and play any game for free, but many people support nintendo and buy some games anyways simply because nintendo doesn’t ass-rape their fanboys ike sony and microsoft do… Seriously fuck sony.. they def got p3wned on this one…

Agreed, if i bought say, ten games from the store, I sure as hell am NOT going to buy them again. I’d be doing this with one, i mean, it wouldn’t be illegal, because i own the rights to my copy, in which i can double and use personally. it’s still only ME using it, therefor there isn’t a problem. if someone lse that didn’t own the game downloaded it via torrents etc, thats illegal, again, this is used for “legal” backups of your personally owned playstation store games.
