I think this is an alternative firmware (OS), not a shell. I haven’t tried it yet so maybe I’m wrong

This is getting a lot better, faster. But can I suggest one thing - Changing the icons (I know it’ll take a while) but in all honesty, they look.. tacky, no offense. And maybe change the font, too, like have options to change the font to something better, or just change the font altogether!

if u want the icons changed, try different themes.

this is pretty cool n all but we need something much better for the psp and i have the right idea but i know nothing about writing for the psp.

the home menu ,that crappy limited gray screen that could do so much more meaning also that you can multitask from games/programs/vsh/web browser …..

get it jazzed up and add all the top psp plugin scripts like music.prx snapshot.prx and others
as well as psp radio direct feed like music.prx
so you can have it all anywhere on the psp.

now that along with a nice theme would rock my boat.

    Comment by paddy
    2008-03-26 20:39:39

ohh and make sure it works for 3.52cfw seeing as music.prx works best on that firmware, and it also so happens that 3.52 seems most stable and fully functioning.

Im having trouble with it playing MP3 files, it locks up and ends up shutting down the PSP. This is definitely coming along great, keep it up, its things like this that make me want to learn some type of programming language, wouldn’t know where to start though. So far this is by far and away the best entry into the homebrew contest……so far…

well i would start like basic programming classes or books like programming logic and designs and work your way up that way.

IRShell is a much more complete shell, just stick with that, until this guy works out the kinks, which are plenty. Other than that, I think the torrent program for the PSP should win the competition.

    Comment by fivefinger
    2008-03-26 21:37:08

there are alot of bugs in the torrent program too, plus the only reason u would use the torrent program is if you don’t have a pc.

    Comment by Neogen45
    2008-03-27 00:20:35

Ummm, what if you happen to be somewhere where you don’t have access to a PC but have access to a wireless connection? I download alot of music and videos when I’m at work(12 hour shifts of sitting on my butt can get boring) aswell as various other files. Even though danzel himself admitted it was a horrible idea I still see some value in it due to my unique circumstances.

great work, still waiting to see usbhost or nethost, to be honest that is the best feature of irshell and i wont switch until it is compatable, and im sure alot of people agree.

Besides it’s just another shell, the torrent program is new, fresh, and innovative, Pirata Nervo will probably win though because he is in with the admin and shit.

you guys should suck some socks before dissin the work of someone, and before glorifyng something that has alredy been done.
i rly think the xmb with some tweaks is the best, the only failure thing about XMB that no one seems to fix and do
    ITS A F**** DECENT WEBBROWSER.
a brand new OS for the PSP would be great..
i know it takes time, months at least… but replacing the whole XMB would be a dream haha

    2008-04-01 10:51:24

well there is already an xmb replacement in the works.. Project4 may really cause some bricks (if you’re a dimwit and dont read readmes, what the hell they are called readmes for?) but it really is a good xmb replacement.. Project4 is already in its last beta stage and I think Auraomega will release the Official one maybe a month after

This shell is some great work, and has progressed to its current state pretty quickly too!

Oh and for all the people saying that 3.52 is outdated, just what exactly can it not do that the latest stuff can…which is actually useful?
It still runs the homebrew stuff which can achieve just as much as the latest firmware (apart from games that require the latest firmware for play).

I must say that this could definitely take the cake for the competition, unless someone managed to brew up a magical web browser out of the blue =)

Keep up the awesome work Pirata Nervo!

To everyone who is whining/complaining etc. Why don’t you give nervo suggestions on how to make the shell better then? That way it will shut you up, make you happy and hopefully create a better shell.
