Want a little more of this?
Then you best be downloading this CXMB package with 50+ themes. Add a whole new look and feel to the XMB.
To install: copy the themes, poisonhzkj’s cxmb prx plugin, and backgrounds to the corresponding directory on your memory stick. The extracted file structure is self explanatory — just be sure to not overwrite ms0:/seplugins/vsh.txt if you have other plugins installed; instead, add the appropriate line manually, “ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx.”
Set your new custom theme by browsing to System -> Theme Settings. Enjoy!

I wish sony would bring out a freeview reciever for the psp, that would fucking make my day, I mean if you can get a 1-seg receiver for use in japan surely they can do freeview for uk…etc. You can get a usb freeview adapter and they are small.

When using this, be sure that the skip sony logo is disabled and your region isn’t faked…or it won’t work

im on 3.90 m33-2 too.. i will try this tomorrow if it works on the new cfw.. i hope so.. coz last time ive heard cxmb dont work past 3.52.. i will let u know if it works.. or if u found out sooner let us know then.. hehe..
I’m on 3.90-2 and just set it up. Two words, fuckin’ sweet. This is def the way to customize the psp.
I know what the guy said about being illegal was just lame, but he does have a point (not that I give a shit.. haha). CFW is not exactly legal since its a modified update. Just like xbox/xbox 360 with their BIOS and DVD flash.
Anyways on to what I came here about…
I love this… I didnt think I would but I do, I like how its really seamless. The only thing that I have to say that I dont like.. and yes I understand it cant be helped, is the fact that all of these themes dont have certain icons, such as GO!Messenger.
Other than that, this is pretty epic. Even tho psp-hacks was a little late getting this one to you guys, Ive been using it for 3 days now ;)
if you read any of da’s readme files, you would understand the update program has you supply the firmware to be modified. (for example the data file needed for oe upgrades was made from 2 fw pbp). The update would have been illegal iif the source was stolen and packaged as his source. Even today, not all the files come with fw updates.
I meant that some DO have those icons and SOME dont, looked confusing in my first comment.

How do you need a “step by step”, did you not read the article? It clearly tells you how to do it.
copy everything over to the psp, and enable add-on in the bios.
You need a custom firmware.
Find someone with a psp with a.50 or cfw and ask them to put cfw on your psp with pandora

I’ve never used CXMB before so i thought i would give this a quick try on my 3.90-2 m33 fat and i must say that this is freaking sweet !!!!!

i finally got this working and i have to say it is sweet. i found out that the problem was u had to copy the cxmb folder to the root… that mite be everyones problem… just put them in the correct folders
Where do you put other downloaded themes onto? wheres the vsh and resource folders that the last cxmb had? why are the themes in the official theme’s folder!!?
…umm, mine shows the x-box 360 icon and after a few seconds it turns off? what am i doing wrong???

from the sound of it all i think were ganna have ta upgrade 3.90
This may be because of a certain plugin that you have installed and enabled. I had this same problem, and i fixed it by disabling my popsloader plugins from the recovery menu. hope this fixes your problem.

i upgraded my psp to 3.90 and it worked
i had to upgrade to 390,
works good, but it dosnt automatically load up the wallpaper for the theme.. and lots of the themes are doubles! how do i add more themes?

to yo mama, this site isnt illegal, CFW isn’t illegal, but downloading isos.csos to the cfw IS…
BTW, this is a very nice pack, just what the doctor ordered, you don’t really have to overwrite some flash anymore. Good themes as well, lmao at the 360 theme as an example pic.

UNLESS THIS IS A NEW VERSION OF CXMB.PRX then this WILL NOT WORK!!!! cxmb.prx version 2.5 DOESNT WORK WITH 3.90 M33!!!

I have installed them and the installation directions is fairly easy, but all that happens is when I start my PSP I get the 360 logo and hear like 0.5 seconds of the sound and the psp freezes and shuts off. I have tried different settings in the BIOS thingy just in case, and nothing makes any difference.

Oh, and it’s 3.90 M33-2 I’m using… I even tried changing the default theme by changing to another one in the conf.txt, but the same thing happen with that one aswell, I see the logo of the theme and only hear 0.5 second of the sound and it freezes and shuts off. Any ideas?.

I think this is a problem in 3.80. I’m on 3.80 also and that also happens too me.
hey, just gave this ago and it does not work on 3.71 just hangs when switching psp on. so i updated to 3.90 m33-2 then tried again, still no joy! lol but i have just got it to work. when i updated to 3.90 m33-2 my memory card still had the folder layout for 3.71 so i backed up my stuff to my pc and then formatted my memorystick on the psp, this now gave me the folder layout for 3.90 i then copy over all the right folders and put in right place, enabled the plugin in recovery and bingo! it works! i get the logo and sound then the XMB loads looks fucking sweet! jobs a gooden! cheers hope this helps!

to install copy the themes inside the theme folder to the theme folder on your psp, copy the cxmb folder to the root of your memory card and the seplugins folder to the root of your memory card and the picture folder to the root of your memory card
next turn on your psp, hold down the r button and then hold the power button untill the psp turns off, then do the same to turn it on and you should enter the recovery menu, inside go to plugins and enable the cxmb, hit back, back and change the themes like you would regualy

Ok, everyone who is having problems with this, realize that Mitchell here is giving the SOLUTION. a lot of people out there dont know about the recovery menu with some of the custom firmwares so do what he said above.

when i upgraded from 3.80M33 to 3.90M33, it started working for me, but i heard from some other people on here that upgrading to 3.90M33 didnt help…y is that?…
Had this working perfectly on a 3.90m33 yesterday. No probs. Then played a psp game for an hour this morning. Hit the home button, went to the home screen, and cxmb apparently stopped working. No clue what’s going on, but when I go to themes it doesn’t recognize any of the .cft’s anymore…

Hey this is great no problems so far… I’m running 3.90 M33…Its been a while since I played with CXMB this is refreshing. Its great to see that people are still interested in bringing more to the psp hacking table.
