im on 3.90 m33-2 too.. i will try this tomorrow if it works on the new cfw.. i hope so.. coz last time ive heard cxmb dont work past 3.52.. i will let u know if it works.. or if u found out sooner let us know then.. hehe..

I’m on 3.90-2 and just set it up. Two words, fuckin’ sweet. This is def the way to customize the psp.

I know what the guy said about being illegal was just lame, but he does have a point (not that I give a shit.. haha). CFW is not exactly legal since its a modified update. Just like xbox/xbox 360 with their BIOS and DVD flash.
Anyways on to what I came here about…
I love this… I didnt think I would but I do, I like how its really seamless. The only thing that I have to say that I dont like.. and yes I understand it cant be helped, is the fact that all of these themes dont have certain icons, such as GO!Messenger.
Other than that, this is pretty epic. Even tho psp-hacks was a little late getting this one to you guys, Ive been using it for 3 days now ;)

I’ve never used CXMB before so i thought i would give this a quick try on my 3.90-2 m33 fat and i must say that this is freaking sweet !!!!!
It’s just like PTF themes but 100 times better

i finally got this working and i have to say it is sweet. i found out that the problem was u had to copy the cxmb folder to the root… that mite be everyones problem… just put them in the correct folders

Where do you put other downloaded themes onto? wheres the vsh and resource folders that the last cxmb had? why are the themes in the official theme’s folder!!?

…umm, mine shows the x-box 360 icon and after a few seconds it turns off? what am i doing wrong???

I have installed them and the installation directions is fairly easy, but all that happens is when I start my PSP I get the 360 logo and hear like 0.5 seconds of the sound and the psp freezes and shuts off. I have tried different settings in the BIOS thingy just in case, and nothing makes any difference.

Oh, and it’s 3.90 M33-2 I’m using… I even tried changing the default theme by changing to another one in the conf.txt, but the same thing happen with that one aswell, I see the logo of the theme and only hear 0.5 second of the sound and it freezes and shuts off. Any ideas?.

hey, just gave this ago and it does not work on 3.71 just hangs when switching psp on. so i updated to 3.90 m33-2 then tried again, still no joy! lol but i have just got it to work. when i updated to 3.90 m33-2 my memory card still had the folder layout for 3.71 so i backed up my stuff to my pc and then formatted my memorystick on the psp, this now gave me the folder layout for 3.90 i then copy over all the right folders and put in right place, enabled the plugin in recovery and bingo! it works! i get the logo and sound then the XMB loads looks fucking sweet! jobs a gooden! cheers hope this helps!

next turn on your psp, hold down the r button and then hold the power button untill the psp turns off, then do the same to turn it on and you should enter the recovery menu, inside go to plugins and enable the cxmb, hit back, back and change the themes like you would regualy

Had this working perfectly on a 3.90m33 yesterday. No probs. Then played a psp game for an hour this morning. Hit the home button, went to the home screen, and cxmb apparently stopped working. No clue what’s going on, but when I go to themes it doesn’t recognize any of the .cft’s anymore…

First off -> for the dick that said that this is illegal, I don’t think so. We buy our PSP an along comes all the things in it. We can do whatever we want with it.Second -> How can it be illegal if no one is earning profit out of it. One of the Vista xmb’s crashes the psp and you are then unable to load anymore xmb’s. You have to disable the prx in recovery mode and just keep the original xmb on your psp.

Here i uploaded to filefront … now for u F*cking noobs … all you do is open /ms0 folder and grab all 4 folders in there … now open your psp and drag them in … hard reset your psp and hold down R trigger button and go to plugins and enable “cxmb.prx” start tour psp again now u can choose the theme by the systems menu.

ps; you also need about 120mb of memory in your memory stick … and It works better in CFW3.90M33

Problem solved! Just change the .txt file in the cxmb folder to whatever other xmb you want. Easy really I’m stupid. Don’t know why the background wallpapers don’t show up though, maybe it isn’t automatic. Manually put the wallpaper on.

you need 3.90 m33-2

-COPY THEME FOLDER TO PSP FOLDER
-COPY PICTURE FOLDER TO ROOT OF STICK (IF YOU WANT DIFFERENT WALLPAPERS)
-COPY SEPLUGINS AND CXMB FOLDER TO ROOT OF STICK

-ENTER RECOVERY MENU (by turning on PSP while holding R-trigger)
-Enable cxmb.prx in PLUGINS SECTION AND EXIT

-THEN GO TO THEMES UNDER SYSTEM AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO APPLY ANY THEME LISTED INCLUDING APPLECOR AND INACOR, AS WELL AS XBOX360 AND BLAH, BLAH, BLAH…THERE ARE MANY

i did all of that but they dont show up under the themes in the xmb unless i change the filetype from ctf to ptf …and even then they say they wont open…wtf i have 3.90m33-2!?!?

this wasnt working for me. i had oregon installed so i updated to 3.90 and it of course overwrit it, then it worked. so you have to have the original xmb installed first.

The themes are great! Ive been waiting on someone to put together a theme package since 3.52. BTW, can you post some more of the pics you use with the themes?

i give up. i read all the comments, disabled my other plugins , changed the cxmb config. now its locking up with a different bootlogo. im going back to irshell.

how do i get the backround to be wat it shows in the the example pic. ex. the halo 360 theme shows the masterchief in the backround but wen i put the theme the backround is my wallpaper.

Love these themes. I actually got my friend to think that I had a 360 dashboard on my PSP! What an idiot! LOL. Oh, and one tip, don’t remove the theme you’re using off the memory stick, or it will not work, and you’ll have to reapply it like me.

Oh, and for the stupid little kid who said we’re thieves, go check out the constitution, and there is nothing against modding. Modding a game is “illegal” in a sense, because it makes the game less fun, that’s why you get banned from xbox live if you mod. You have the right to do whatever you want with the software or hardware of whatever you buy, just as long as it doesn’t include stealing copyrighted material, like snes games, or full PSP isos. We only include the loaders, not the roms, and we encourage for the other members of PSP-Hacks to buy the game rather than just downloading it, even if they do it anyways. It just allows the “psp hackers” here to have fun on the run with a handheld system, rather than carrying around an old SNES wherever they go.

Have fun with the themes guys, and I hope to see more of these themes, especially since they’re easier and safer to apply this way. Haven’t seen how to make them into this format yet though…..

Great pack!!! But CXMB plugin seems to conflict with TimeMachine, so i had to switch off CXMB if i wanna boot other CFW.

Anyone having problems with the themes not fitting on the psp screen? I have noticed that on a few of the themes, the clock and battery icons, etc… don’t fit or barely fit on the screen. Does anyone else have this problem, or just me. I have an un-original flash0, since i was running a CXMB before. Would that do it? Some themes look fine.

Anyone know why I can’t see the themes on my 3.90 M33-2? I copied everything over correctly, I see the wallpaper on my PSP. But when I go to change the theme, only “Original” shows up on the list.

well its been a while since i’ve been here, i had 3.03oe on my shizz. the only reason i came back was my 360 got the 3RLs, and wow this awesome, i remeber the days where you had to do everything yourself peice by peice, flashing for days tryin to get everything right and then voila all in one throug h the menu omg this ridiculously awesome. also i had a lil trouble at first but then i found this and its fool proof

Sorry, Guys i was on 3.71 and had to go all the way to 3.90 m33-2 to use this program but it was worth it for the cool themes

firslty install 3.90 cfw then copy CXMB, PICTURE, SEPLUGINS to root of memstick ms0: also copy the THEME folder to your ms0:psp\theme folder , if you already have a seplugins folder open up the vsh.text file and add this ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx save it after then reboot psp to recovery mode goto plugins and enable cxmb.prx plugin exit recovery should work ok …..hope this helps

1. Turn off your psp (hard, Hold power button off till it shut off)
2. Turn it back on while holding R
3. Enable Plug-in
4. Exit
5. System will restart.

I can’t get it to work on 3.71 M33-3, but it does work on 3.90 m33-3. I even got the CXMB and SEPlugins for the 3.71 version but for whatever reason the custom themes just doesn’t show up under the options. The theme pack in nice, but a couple of them are the same with different backgounds. The good thing is that it will not brick the PSP and if you remove the MS, everything goes back to normal.

This tutorial does not involve using Flash edit, so there is no chance of bricking ur psp, its just using plugins which r safe.
For those of you who cant be bothered to watch the vid i will just explain it now.
1. Copy and paste ‘cxmb’ and ’seplugins’ to the root of your mem stick in ur psp. (i.e. the main directory that you start in)
2. Copy and paste everything that is in the PICTURE folder in to the PICTURE folder in your psp. (put it in the picture folder that is in the root of your mem stick)
3. Go into the PSP folder and then into THEMES , and copy and paste everything in there in to the THEMES folder of your mem stick. Which can be found in the PSP folder which is in the root. If there is no themes folder in PSP on your mem stick, just create one.
4. Turn your psp completely off and hold R down and turn your psp back on, this should boot the recovery menu. Then go into plugins and enable ‘cxmb.prx [VSH]‘ then go back and exit the recovery menu.
5. Now when you go Settings, Theme Settings and select Theme all the custom themes should be there.
6. Your done, spend a few mins checking them out and chose your favorite, when you select apply, your psp screen will go black, and you will think you have bricked. You haven’t it is just loading and normal service will resume shortly.
7. Well done.

I tried on the new 3.95 GEN-2. After enabled the plugin, I exit the recovery and waited. It’s a few seconds black screen and the psp shutdown by itself.

Hey guys, I’m running 3.90 M33-3 and when I do exactly as instructed, I get it to boot up with the 360 theme, but when I try to change from that it goes back to the default. I can’t get anything then. So I tried reformatting my mem stick and redoing the process. Still no luck. The xbox360 starts it off, but when I try to change the theme…no luck. If you just want the original XMB theme, then try going to theme settings and set EVERYTHING to normal. Let me just say that I am not 100% sure that this will work because I don’t have this problem.

guyz i ve figured out how, this is not for 3.71 it is for exactly 3.90m33-2, ive tried every cfw works with3.90m33-2 only ( maybe just me )
how to play:
1) download the file, unzip it by winrar.
2) put all of the files on your psp folder
3) go to recovery(shutdown ur psp n hold r while opening )
4) from ur psp, go to themes and enjoy the real deal…
NOTE- worked with me only when i upgraded to 3.90m33-2
