Still rockin’ Custom Firmware Extender (CFE) 1.9.2? If so, it’s time to update… Cpasjuste has released CFE version 2.0, adding support for Dark_AleX’s latest work — both custom firmware 3.90 M33 and TimeMachine.
As the name implies, “Custom Firmware Extender” is a collection of useful 3rd party plugins, which in effect extend the functionality of whatever custom firmware you may be running. Full feature set can be read on the download landing page.
CFE v2.0 changes: (from the README)
- Removed usb/wifi ISO streaming for multiples reason, principally it was not the goal of cfe at the beginning. There is now “USB ISO Loader” by psp.padawan that will do the job well. You should soon be able to grab it from http://www.mydedibox.fr/~psppadawan/
- 390m33-2 and 150_340TM custom firmware now supported (cfe should now work on any firmware), note that on the 150_340 time machine firmware, the ftpd server will not work, and remotejoy under ISO/HOMEBREWS won’t work too for now. All other functions should work well.
- Time Machine compatibility: You can now reboot “on the fly” from one time machine firmware to another, just edit the cfe.config file under “ms0:/seplugins/cfe/” to choose which firmware you will reboot to by pressing a combo button. Format is the same as the original time machine configuration file. Default configuration is NOTE+LEFT => reboot to 150_340 firmware, NOTE+RIGHT => normal reboot (NAND).
- Remotejoy fixed to work on both slim and phat psp, without savegame bugs, so it should now be completely usable for gaming and recording.
- Tested on 390m33-2 and 150_340TM firmware on SLIM and PHAT psp.
- And more, can’t remember all the work i have done on this

#3 LOL
gonna stick with 3.90 m33-2
Its a set of plugins for your 3.90 m33-2. It’s not a firmware, it’s and addon.
Will this work with 3.40 oe?
Missed the point here. Let me get this straight. THis allows 1.50 original on the Slim or just the 3.40 version? The point is to use it and 3.90 at the same time? I still am not sure how 1.50 benefits me as a Slim user (what exactly I can use that I couldn’t before).
I do see something great coming from this…however, I see no use for it atm as 3.90m33 is doing more than what I, and maybe even others, need and/or want.
On another note, this doesn’t mean that you should stop working on this. I understand that working on custom firmware is extremely challenging which is why I salute you for doing this. Keep it up, and definitely don’t give up until you achieve what you are trying to achieve with your custom firmware whether it be something similiar to to Dark_Alex’s project, or you changing the layout overall with doing what you are.
great job guys, keep it up. if it wasnt for people like you there wouldnt be an underground psp scene.
I don’t think anyone posting here understands what this is.
It’s not another customer firmware.. it’s a collection of plugins that work WITH your custom firmware (hence why it says it’s compatible with 3.90m33-2).
I think the confusion is stemming from the feature that allows on-the-fly switching between firmwares (aka DA’s Time Machine).
This is cool.
Okay, this isn’t working for me. I have followed all the directions, and enabled both files directed on the plugins screen on recovery, I cannot get the features menu to show up.
NVM, got it.
eh hem… WHO CARES!!!
psar to big something something help me please!
oh never mind
Great work. Keep it up.
let me get this straight there is a program that will do wifi iso game streaming? ???? I i know this dosent do it but they mention a program that does… has anyone used it and is it good?
Dark Alex for President!
yes irshell 3.9 does this and earlier releases of this custom firmware extender
So basically any hack is useless to owners with FW3.9 since all homebrew now requires a PSP with hacked FW, which is lame.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, what’s the lowest FW you can be at to be able to use custom FW?
Great work dude.
that link for the isoloader is dead.. anyone?
