UPMS Installer v3 — Code Name: Sapphire

Gh0st’s UPMS Installer packs a collection of useful software tools for converting to & from a Pandora’s battery, writing the IPL to your memory stick, and creating the Ultimate Unbricker/Downgrader solution.
Easily achieve any of the following when combining both the Pandora battery and Ultimate Pandora Memory Stick (UPMS):
- Upgrade a Slim to 3.71-2 M33;
- Upgrade a Phat to 3.71-2 M33 w/ 1.50-2 kernel patch;
- Upgrade a Slim to 3.80-5 M33;
- Upgrade a Phat to 3.80-5 M33 w/ 1.50 kernel patch;
- Downgrade a Phat to 1.50;
- Upgrade a Phat straight to 3.52 M33 from Extended Boot Menu, then install update 4 via XMB — with no need to downgrade to 1.50;
- Boot the PSP using Ultimate Loader with support for choosing which Pandora you require — V1, V3, or V4;
- Boot to the XMB with the Pandora battery inserted (Phat Only);
- Boot to a full 1.50 firmware from the memory stick (Phat Only);
- Use PSP Filer and other tools;
- Upgraded a Phat or Slim to 3.71-4 M33 from the XMB with the update;
- Recover any bricked PSP (Phat or Slim).
Of course you’ll require the corresponding [official] firmware EBOOT(s) depending on your selection. Copy each EBOOT to the root of your memory stick — 1.50 (rename to 150.PBP), 3.71 (371.PBP), 3.80 (380.PBP), and also a second copy of 1.50 named “UPDATE.PBP.”
To start using UPMS Installer:
- Ensure UMD Mode is set to “Sony NP9660.” Hold R-Trigger while booting to enter the recovery console, go to Configuration, and set the UMD Mode there.
- Copy UPMSInstallerV3.cso to the ISO directory on your memory stick; i.e.) F:\ISO or /Volumes/PSP/ISO
- Browse to the XMB game menu and launch.

By the way, anyone, you DO NOT NEED A HOMEBREW PSP TO DOWNGRADE. Just make a hardware pandora battery (google for it). It is very easy to do. Then use this file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D3ND3CGY
Run the start.exe file, then do what it says. at the end, hit the last installation (not exit) and you will have a pandora battery and memory stick. Use that to install 3.71m33 and get the easy updater to 3.90m33 and you’re there.

go to recovery menu by hold R trigger while turning ON the PSP, go to advanced and format flash 1 and your wifi will work again. Cool?

U need a pandora battery plus this UPMS on a memory stick.
your asking for a way to downgrade your firmware on the post that allows you to do that, kinda funny don’t ya think XD. Word to the wise press the link that’s under download in the post. you can then make a magic memory stick, and a pandora battery to downgrade. but the catch is you need a homebre enabled psp to do that.

This is grat i downgrade it a Fat But it didnt work on the Slim now im stuck
It does work on the slim. If you just see a black screen, after the pandora boots, just press x and wait for the PSP to turn off.

do you mean downgrading your slim to 1.50? if you do, you can’t downgrade a slim to 1.50. you can only install custom firmware on a slim.
ok so i have 2 psp’s, one is 3.52 fat and one is 3.52 M33-4, and i whant to get the other one to 1.50 and i only got 1 battery cause the other one has a slight slit in the side of the battery and im not shure it would be safe to use it with that open slit.. can any1 please help me, if you wouldnt mind emailing me at: Tdntx@msn.com

Yes you can install CFW without a fat psp, but you still need a PSP with CFW to create a pandora battery and MS, also it must be a fat battery. And to answer your second question, only with a fat, must have FW 3.50 or less.

Installed it today, unbricked and upgraded my PSP like a charm. No command-prompt needed. Worked great. It was a little hard to understand the directions at times though. Ask in the Help forums if you get stuck.

I Have been using pandora for about 4 months and hand no problem I have 2 PSP ones a slim and the others a fat. For the first time I am unable to see anything after booting the slim with this new UPMS but the fat psp works fine so if anyone let me know what to do to fix this

to downgrade m33 on fat psp you dont need pandora battery or pandora ms.! You can do it using special app udner recovery menu.!! 1.5 kernel addon required..

I was trying to make a new magic stick out of a new card I got…..bricked my PHAT psp because I missed the step “For the UPDATE.PBP just recopy the 1.50.PBP and rename it to UPDATE.PBP” it gave me an option to have UPMS do it for me, but it also said that would take longer. So I chose to quit install, which some how put my psp in BRICK mode. My first ever brick, fortunately I was able to use my other magic mem stick to unbrick and return to 3.71 m33. I didn’t give up though. I updated my PHAT psp 3.71 m33 to 3.90 m33 to make sure I was getting the full affect of the new features of UPMS. This time I did not forget to place the UPDATE.pbp in with the other .pbp’s and everything worked fine. Was able to write .ipl with 3.90 (Take that sony punks). Everything working fine…….peace and props to those responsible for this magic
Since I’m a true DAX Fan I am required to mostly only use The Universal Unbricker But this isn’t that bad. This worked pretty good on my fat psp so I’ll give this 4 Stars (****) out of 5.
hahah this sweet XD funny thing is that $ony is worrying so much bout there fw related issues they have not been realeasing to much games maby they should just stop making fw coz thhis aint ever gonna end i’v yet to see a game that even needs 3.50 to run -_- thats how many fw below 3.90?

ok, so i installed all the UPMS files on my mem stik, then, i put it in my psp, then, i hold the L trigger like the guide tells me too, finally i put in the pandora battery while still holdin the L trigger, the memstik light flashes continuously but nothing comes up…..wtf did i do wrong
Your IPL has not been successful so Format your ms in the PSP first, the use UPMS to format it again, there’s an option there, then just reload the files back to the stick and start again.
Also they are telling people not to use the first v3 released but to wait for the v3r1, go check their website.

THIS CRAP BRICK MY PSP WHEN INSTALLING it said it needed to format something on the psp flash so it could install the ipl and that was it i had a brick psp.
How can i downgrade my slim 3.72? ive tried the regular pandora and the screen just stays black. i hit x. and nothing. I keep finding videos to downgrade a slim. but i cant find the new pandora v3 everyones talking about.. can someone give me a link to a website with all the downloads i need to downgrade a slim? not to mention that i cant find a full manual on how to make the better pandora battery.. the phat psp was easy .. .the slim is pissing me off.. someone please help?
