iR Shell Firmware Patch — Now Working with 3.90 M33

Good news on the homebrew front… Over at irshell.org are instructions to remove iR Shell’s firmware check, thus enabling itself on custom firmware 3.90 M33. But wait — there’s more! Further instructions here detail the necessary steps to get ISOs/no-UMD mode working.
How to remove iR Shell’s firmware check using a hex editor:
irshell/bin/irshell38x.prx: offset 0x284e, 0x82 -> 0x00
irshell/bin/irshell38xs.prx: offset 0x28da, 0x82 -> 0x00

so it just makes irshell work with 3.90, I’ll get excited when someone makes it compatible
what are you talking about? doesnt the patch make it compatible with 3.90…
not really… it’s a work-around. it’s software tailored to 3.80 so by-passing the version check has the potential to cause all sorts of minor problems. otherwise why have it check if it’s running 3.80 if it will work just fine on 3.90?
So basically, this removes the firmware check ? Why didn’t Ahman himself do it in the first place if he wasn’t going to continue improving IR Shell ? :( I guess he forgot…
I just need to ask how do you get the ir remote to work? I mean I used the very first IRShell back in the day and It worked fine and bought up all the Manufacturer codes but now theres nothing! someone please help me
It all depends on what firmware you are useing. 3.52-3.7 had the sircs.prx removed from sony but in 3.8 it was put back in. there is a tut I wrote on irshell.org that tell how to get it ir working on 3.52-3.7. http://www.irshell.org/showthread.php?tid=495&pid=4225#pid4225 . hope this helps you out. Also I should add the firmware check is totally unsupported by Ahman and the beta testers. This does remove the check but may make irshell buggy in higher firmware updates.
You probably had your usb switch toggled. see bottom right of your screen to make sure no usb sign is there and try again
for the ir remote to work u need to download pronto hex codes… save the folders into IR shell/ir codes…it takes a while to get them all in but its worth it…. fun for school :)
I was looking at the EBOOT using hex editor a few days ago. If I had known what to do, lol.

Put this on my psp for all of about 5 mins… before I deleted it. It works, but I dont see anything special about IRShell, never have… This one is nothing new from the last ones.
Guys, when I open application view and run the iso from there, it run the umd disc instead. although the file name is correct but instead of running the file on my iso folder it read the umd instead. do you guys face the same problem? any solution?

Next you must launch iR Configurator and make sure that both “Non-MS Media Access” and
“Display Redirect to usbhost0″ are set to “Enable” and save your changes.
Note: I did NOT have to do this before, but it seems to work just as well…
