It’s time to update those hand helds. Dark_AleX has just released 3.80 M33-5. You know what to do. Enjoy!
3.80 M33-5 changes:
- Fixed custom CPU clock not working in games
- CPU clock has never (in any SE/OE/M33) be set at all in games that restarted using sceKernelLoadExec to use a subgame or reload themselves, after said restart happened (e.g. Castlevania). Fixed.
- Added setting to recovery to hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG in the XMB game menu. By default off, when on you will probably notice a faster browse in XMB games. This setting only applies to any kind of apps/games (pbp, iso) that load from MS, but not to UMD’s.

try reinstalling the 1.5 kernel patch for 3.80 m33 again

Yeah well there should be a 6th soon, At least I Hope, One that fixes the Memory Stick’s not working well, and a Fix for the Popsloader. : /
I got my Popsloader working fine (3.40 Pops). And I used to have the slow XMB problem, but I formatted flash1 and it was working again…
Oops. I got the Memory stick problem confused with something else…

How about a FIX for the 8GB Sony Memory Sticks not working with half the Crap I have, Everything worked fine with 3.71M33 with my 8GB stick, ANd NO I”M NOT doing the Pandora thing, to revert back, because I read all the Forum HELP ME”s and lots of people have problems when trying that, I am not going to try it, and screw this PSP up, with my LUCK I will.
I have a 8gig card and it works fine…is yours magic gate supported? it could possibly be a knock off… go to your card press triangle and go to “information” see whether it says supported or not…and you should check to see if your file system is set up correctly. Also try reinstalling your prx pluggin’s and kernal 1.50.

I already went through this, YES IT IS REAL, it’s Supported, it works, it’s a real SONY 8GB Memory Stick. So it’s the Update, that’s all I can think of, as I said everything I have Problems with now, Worked fine before, this update. Thanks for the Help though

PHAT PSP bought it in 2005, Had 2.60 FW on it, and the problems I’m having are, Snes I had on it no longer works, I had to DL the ME version to run in 1.50 Kern now, and Mario never works now. 2nd RE3 does not work now, Freezes before you get to actually play, CWCheat does not work anymore with my SONY 8GB Stick, and YES YES it’s real, it says Supported, before you ask me. Only thing that still works right are the PSP games and CWcheat with it. Advice to anyone using a 8GB stick DO NOT UPDATE, stick with 3.52 or 3.71M33-4, those worked the best for me. If I left anything out, it’s because I’m pissed that shit all stopped working. Sorry if I sound like an Asshole.

Make sure you put the update folder in the PSP/GAME folder. then it will run properly, or just do network update :P
mark if ur using a 2 or 4gb mem card try using a 1 or lower gb/mb card i used my 4gb n it gave me tht error but used my 1gb card n got it workin

Ok in 3.71m33-4 the UPMS cso is working 100%. I must say really really good job with this program. But if you have 3.80m33-4 the UPMS cso is not working. When the program starts you get black screen and errors:
Error0×800200D2 loading/starting ksfuff.prx
Error0×800200D2 loading/starting baster.prx

No my mistake, it was cause of the kernel and now i updated to 1.50 kernel for 3.80 for dark alex website…thanks for everything DAX you da best..

Hi, I am on CFW 3.71 just now. I am going to update to CFW 3.80-5. Can I just go straight to 3.80-5, or do I have to install he previous updates first (i.e. 3.80 M33-2, -3 and -4)?? Please let me know someone. Cheers, Lee.
You’d have to install 3.80M33 first (because it uses the EBOOT). Than you can get and use update 5 from Network Update
im using 3.71 m33 and i downloaded this update (3.80 m33-5) just now, when i put it on the PSP/GAME folder, my psp suddenly dsconnected to the pc. and when i tried transferring files from my pc to psp, it would alwas disconnect. this problem started since i did the update. im still on 3.71 m33, the update did not work but my psp wont transfer files now. help please…

kelloidz - you need to upgrade to 3.80 m33 first. m33-2, m33-3, m33-4 and now m33-5 are fixes for 3.80 mss

Sheesh, a lot of people wish they’d stuck with 3.74m33- instead of going for this bug-ridden 3.80m33. Music prx v0.50 no longer works on this, old games don’t work at all, homebrew is unstable and GTA has no sound anymore! I’d wait until God of War or similar games that require 3.80 come out, then upgrade…now excuse me, It’s Pandora Time!
Um why use pandora, coulda sworn CFW has the ability to downgade via recovery

Has anyone seen a good GUI for the popstation_md program, that lets you put multiple image files, into one eboot? I’ve tried a couple, and most of them suck. None of them, I can see, lets you use all of the custom icons, I want to be able to put every icon, including the animated, sound, and boot icon, but, alas, I haven’t found one that does it yet. Although, the eboot does work, it just doesn’t run right, it won’t let me use it on Popsloader’s 3.40 firmware, the best for my eboot, and eboot’s in general, and that sucks.
Anyway, about this update, great work, I also really love the laid back use of using the network update, very convenient not having to download, then upload to the PSP.

I would’ve never bought a psp if it wasn’t for cfw. Same with my 3 other friends. Sony should send dax a cut from the 640 bucks that he made for them….

Yes u can ,, u don’t have to update the other updates , u only have to install 3.80 M33 and then update it to 3.80 M33 - 5 and thats all,, good luck :)

Went from 3.40 OE to 3.80 M33 - Everything works as it should, ISOs, psx, homebrew… using a 4GB memstick… A few minor problems; Internet Radio doesn’t show any stations, can’t change the xmb battery or use any “custom” themes. All in all, I am well pleased with this release.
Have you tried using your usb cable yet? Cause mine isn’t working…It’s not the cable. I keep receiving errors when trying to connect to pc. I am still trying to upgrade from 3.80m33v4 to v5. I can’t get it online or usb. Am I stuck in limbo? There has to be a different solution than recovering. Plus I’m on a Slim, so I can’t exactly go back to 1.5-what would it recover to?

I have 3.40 OE but want to upgrade my CFW to 3.80 M33 too. Do I just upgrade to it or do I have to do other steps to get there? (I have a PHAT PSP)
You gotta go 3.52m33 first, and then to 3.52m33 v4, and then to 3.80m33. Then to 3.80m33v5.

yeah. i had that problem. whenever the battle starts in FF7, these weird lines show up and it’ll crash the game. i thought that my eboot was the problem but when i tried a different FF7 eboot, it crashed too.

Hey I found something! Ok when playing music set xmb speed to 20/10 ok now normaly the psp will bog down and xmb becomes slow and music skip. Put if you hold the display button down until the screen cuts off and turn back on all this stops and the xmb is workable and music plays fine weather or not this is still keppeing the cpu at 20/10 is unknown to me unless you now how to see what the cpu running at every one please try this.
Just upgraded from 3.80-3 to 3.80-4 to 3.80-5. Somewhere along the line I lost the ability to Remote start my ps3 via the internet and the ability to use the internet radio (no stations show either) Running on a Fat. Is this a known item? If so, how do I move back to the 3.80-3 version. Probably a stupid question but I had to ask. Oh and thanx DAX amazing work!!

I just went back down to 3.71M33 and all is good again :D Forget this 3.80 it’s not worth it
